Abstract

Brawijaya Smart School High School has various types of student achievement. However, among the various types of achievement, there were no achievement that used Academic and Non-Academic aspects as a main reference in the selection. Teachers find it difficult to use Academic and Non-Academic value data due to the nature of the two values. Based on existing problems, a system is needed that is able to process combined data of Academic and Non-Academic value to determine outstanding students based on these two aspects. K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) is a data mining algorithm that can be used for the classification process of outstanding students. As for the sorting of the classification results with many attributes, Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) algorithm is used. The attribute used consists of the average grade of students from semester 1-5 and students plus poin. The validation test produce a score of 100% Valid. The output of this study is a system that can provide recommendations of outstanding students by implementing the website-based KNN and SAW algorithm. And the results of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) has a value of 86%.

Abstract

Laboratory of Instrumentation and Measurement is one of the laboratories in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Brawijaya University. This laboratory serves student practicum activities, lecture and student research, and research activities such as workshops and demos. To conduct data inventory of laboratory equipment, borrowing and returning equipment service, laboratory staff still using manual records in spreadsheet and forms. There are several problems such as manual records for the equipments, the synchronization of the data owned by the laboratory staff and the head of the laboratory, and also the laboratory staff must find the form from all loan forms when returning. Based on this, an inventory management information system is needed for laboratory equipment that can help solve the problem of inventory, adding information to equipment, and borrowing and returning equipment. The development of this information system uses the SDLC Evolutionary Prototyping model that allows improvement of functionality during continuous iterations. The results of the requirement analysis are described using use case diagrams and activity diagrams. The implementation of this information system uses the CodeIgniter PHP framework. System testing is done by using validation testing with the results of testing all functions that can be done properly and verified validly. The result of compatibility testing shows some problems, such as critical issue found because of the SSL or HTTPS feature that is not activated and major and minor problems exist because some browsers don't support some CSS properties. UAT testing resulted in an acceptance percentage of 91.8% for administrator actors and 83.6% for student actors.

Abstract

SMK Plus Almaarif Singosari annually doing industrial internship. There are still problems in the internship activity. The problem is about delivery of information that is still manual because it is only conveyed through meetings with parents. This makes the information to be received by students can be limited, inaccurate or not delivered. The limited information received by students such as requirements, industries that are suitable to be used as workplaces and positions and occupations in the industry. Based on problems related to the management of internship, it is needed a system that can manage information about the internship and can minimize existing problems. The system to be built is based on a website using the Laravel framework. In developing the information system, a waterfall software development model is used. The result from this research are 3 as-is business process modeling, 3 to-be business process modeling,4 actor, 15 user requirements, 32 functional requirements, and 1 non-functional requirement, 1 architectural design modeling, 32 sequence diagrams, 3 class diagrams, 1 physical data model and 11 sample design interfaces. The results of the requirements analysis are approved by the user, proven by the results of User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Unit testing explains that the existing function yields a valid percentage of 100%.

Abstract

Observation is a data collection technique, with the aim of recording important points of the observation process so that it can be evaluated and improve results. In the world of education, the application of observation is carried out to the teacher in the hope that the results of observations can find out what is happening and are lacking in the learning process. To help the observation process, we need a media to help the teacher by focusing the teacher's needs and needs in designing the media, so that the media can be used to help the observation process. This research aims at observation and recording media by using user experience as a race in the making of solution solutions. The method used to explore user experience is Human Centered Design which is a method of placing prospective users as the main center of research development. The steps taken consist of identifying the user's needs by creating a persona and empathy map, then identifying the tasks and goals of the user with a user journey. Then the process of implementing the solution design is done by creating a wireframe, screenflow and prototype design which will be tested using the usability testing method and the usability scale system testing. From the test it was produced that the effectiveness level was 100% and the efficiency of 0.1 goals / sec and the level of user satisfaction was 57.5 which was at a sufficient level. Thus, it can be concluded that the solution design has succeeded in providing a solution to the problem despite the lack of user satisfaction

Abstract

The current learning process can be carried out using a variety of learning media, one of which is called Monsakun, a learning media about simple arithmetic word problems. Learning activities undertaken by students at Monsakun will be stored in the datalog. The datalog is a representation of students' thought processes while studying with Monsakun. The thought process that students do when studying at Monsakun certainly varies from one student to another student. Therefore, clustering students who have a tendency to think similarly into the same group is needed in order to facilitate the teaching staff in handling and providing appropriate feedback on the learning constraints of their students. This study aims to utilize datalog from Monsakun learning media to get groups of students' thought processes in the learning process using the Fuzzy C-Means algorithm that is optimized with Particle Swarm Optimization (FCMPSO). Based on the results of the implementation that has been carried out using 12 data assignments at Monsakun, the best results are group formation dominated by 2 clusters. The optimum parameter values ​​have different results for each data assignment, and there is only the same optimum value for all data assignments on the learning factor parameters.

Abstract

The students' thought process during learning reflects their understanding and misunderstanding about the structure of the questions in an exercise. The application of understanding of the structure of questions has been packaged in a learning media called Monsakun. Monsakun provides support by offering the concept of understanding the structure of questions in solving simple arithmetic word problems (addition and subtraction). Although Monsakun has successfully provided support in learning, identification of group learning patterns among students has not been done. This pattern grouping needs to be done to make it easy for teachers to understand the characteristics of students' thinking, understand the difficulties faced, and provide feedback in accordance with the characteristics of thinking and difficulties experienced by these students. This study aims to group students' thought processes while studying at Monsakun using the K-Means algorithm that is optimized with the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm in determining initial centroids. The data used is a Monsakun level 5 datalog consisting of 12 questions. Based on the implementation and testing that has been done, the results of grouping are dominated by 2 clusters where the quality of the cluster is determined using the Silhouette Coefficient method.

Abstract

In the current era, information and communication technology is almost applied in all types of fields, one of which is education. Mobile applications are one of the breakthroughs in the application of information and communication technology in the field of education. However, there is still no mobile application that helps teachers to make classroom observations. Class observation is really needed by a teacher to help collect data on learning activities in class, where the data will be analyzed to develop teacher quality. At present, the observations made are still manual, which uses a piece of note paper. So that not much data is obtained from observations. As for some observers who started doing classroom observations using a video recorder, which has been better implemented. However, this triggers another problem where an accuracy is needed to match the observer's notes with the video results. The author is encouraged to develop a classroom observation application which produces a timeline of notes, photos, audio, and video. This application was designed using Android Studio with the Waterfall software development method, where the need was clear at the start. Where in consisting of needs analysis, design, implementation and testing. Applications that have been functionally developed will be tested with black-box testing and non-functional will be tested with compatibility testing. In black-box testing applications get 100% valid and the results of compatibility testing applications can be compatible on various android devices with a version above 5.0 (Lolipop).
