Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of vernacular architecture. The various of local wisdom values from Indonesian traditional houses have succeeded for local identity strengthening. On the other hand, residential housing currently prioritizes functional needs only, while aspects of formal characteristics and local wisdom values are not the main considerations in the design of today's residential housings. The role and characteristics of local wisdom values as an approach in residential design is certainly interesting to study more deeply. Descriptive analysis research method through field observation and literature study which was carried out as an effort to answer the research problem. The results show that the optimization of the passive design strategy of residential buildings by adapting local wisdom values is expected to increase indoor thermal comfort levels, achieve building energy efficiency, strengthen the urban identity, preserve architectural styles, also develop of sustainable architecture. In this way, healthy housing with local character can be realized throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

The user's sensory experience of an architecture evokes his emotions. The sensory system is not only limited to the visual aspect, but of course other senses. Human perception is basically multisensory, so that the individual will easily explain experiences through previous environmental interactions. This research was conducted to examine the user's multisensory experience at Taman Trunojoyo regarding the architectural space elements. The method used is descriptive qualitative, data collection using literature study and observation. This study divides the four areas studied and analyzes the architectural elements in terms of visual, haptic, auditory, olfactory and basic orientation aspects. In addition, the application of the parameters of the movement plane, guiding plane and resting plane were also analyzed in each area. The results of this study indicate that Trunojoyo park is not limited to a park that can only be enjoyed visually, but this park provides elements that can provide a multisensory experience to visitors. Such as the facilities of a reflection garden, elements of a fountain and children's playground, and others. However, because of its location in the middle of the city, it causes disturbances such as vehicle noise that enters at several points in the area.

Abstract

Kelembaban udara yang tinggi pada daerah beriklim tropis lembab berpengaruh terhadap lingkungan termal bangunan, terutama lingkungan termal ruang dalam. Sementara itu, penggunaan jenis bahan sangat berpengaruh terhadap daya serap uap air dalam ruang. Pemilihan material, khususnya material berpori memiliki kemampuan higroskopisitas (absorbsi dan desorbsi uap air) yang harus dipertimbangkan. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan bahan organik yang banyak dijumpai di Indonesia, yaitu sabut kelapa, gambas kering, dan ijuk dikaji lebih lanjut terkait kinerja higroskopisitas dan pengaruhnya terhadap kenyamanan termal. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental berupa uji model fisik melalui observasi lapangan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa bahan organik sangat potensial dijadikan sebagai penyerap kelembaban udara pada ruang dalam bangunan, terutama pada pukul 16.00-06.00.Kata kunci: Bahan organik, absorbsi dan desorbsi, kelembaban udara
