Abstract

This study analyzed the most effective employee retention strategies for the shopping center industry in Surabaya, a major city in ASEAN. The research involved interviewing 13 employees with at least one year of experience in shopping centers across different areas of the city. The research approach used was qualitative. Based on employee perspectives, the factors that could help shopping center companies develop an effective employee retention strategy are salaries, bonuses & incentives, insurance, career paths, job plans, training, and employee facilities. The study aimed to develop an employee retention strategy model that can be used by shopping centers in Surabaya. Highlights: The research employs a qualitative approach and conducts interviews with 13 employees from shopping centers in Surabaya to investigate employee retention strategies. The study aims to identify the factors that shopping center management should consider in implementing effective employee retention strategies from the employees' viewpoint. Various factors that can influence employee retention are identified, such as salary, bonuses and incentives, insurance, career advancement opportunities, job design, training, and employee facilities. Employee facilities, including regular recreational activities to foster better relationships among employees and management, as well as designated parking spaces for employees, are considered important factors in employee retention strategies. Abstract

This quantitative study examines the influence of training and job design on employee retention in modern shopping centers in Surabaya. The analysis of 35 experienced respondents reveals that both training and job design are highly valued factors, with average scores above 3.25. Job design particularly stands out with an average score of 3.51. Regression analysis confirms that both training and job design significantly impact employee retention, emphasizing their crucial role in supporting employee performance and retaining valuable workforce in the retail industry. This research aligns with previous studies highlighting the positive correlation between training and employee retention, as well as the impact of job design on retention in other organizational settings. The findings offer valuable insights for HR practitioners and decision-makers aiming to enhance employee retention strategies in modern shopping centers. Highlight: mportance of Training and Job Design: The study emphasizes the significance of providing appropriate training and favorable job design to employees working in modern shopping centers, as these factors are considered crucial for enhancing employee retention. Quantitative Approach: The research adopts a quantitative approach, employing descriptive and regression analyses, to explore the relationship between training, job design, and employee retention in Surabaya's modern shopping centers. Abstract

The research attempts to investigate public hospital service model and test the effect of theinternal and external service quality on employee satisfaction, employee satisfaction on theexternal service quality, external service quality on customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty.The research was conducted through questionnaires to 31 hospitals in Surabaya with1155 respondents. Validity and reliability are used to test the research instruments and researchhypotheses were tested by linear regression analysis. The results show there is a significantand positive effect of internal service quality on the employee satisfaction. There isalso a significant effect of internal service quality on external service quality. But, it alsoshows there is no significant effect of employee satisfaction on external service quality.Again, there is a significant and positive effect of external service quality on customer satisfaction,a significant and positive effect of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty.

Abstract

Mitra dalam program ini adalah Ibu Widi Suci Ariani, pemilik usaha mikro Dapur Arisha yang berlokasi di Desa Cagakagung, Kecamatan Cerme, Kabupaten Gresik. Usaha kuliner ini menghasilkan dua produk utama, yaitu minuman teh dan jagung kriwil, dengan skala produksi rumahan dan peralatan sederhana. Tujuan program ini adalah meningkatkan kapasitas usaha dan pendapatan mitra melalui penguatan aspek produksi, pemasaran, dan pengelolaan keuangan. Permasalahan utama mitra meliputi keterbatasan peralatan produksi, variasi produk yang minim, penjualan yang masih terbatas pada pesanan WhatsApp, belum memiliki rombong untuk penjualan langsung, serta belum melakukan pencatatan keuangan berbasis digital. Solusi yang diterapkan mencakup pengadaan peralatan produksi, pendampingan peningkatan keterampilan, pelatihan penjualan langsung dan pemasaran online, serta penerapan pencatatan transaksi melalui QRIS. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi tepat guna, pendampingan, dan evaluasi berkelanjutan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan mitra dalam penggunaan peralatan hingga 60%, penambahan variasi produk menjadi 10 jenis, peningkatan kemampuan pemasaran online hingga 40%, serta peningkatan omzet penjualan sebesar 50%. Selain itu, mitra kini memiliki satu unit rombong angkringan untuk berjualan di Foodcourt Cagakagung dan telah menerapkan pencatatan keuangan berbasis digital. Dampak kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan daya saing usaha mikro, tetapi juga memperkuat kemandirian perempuan desa dalam berwirausaha secara berkelanjutan. Rekomendasi selanjutnya adalah memperluas jangkauan pasar digital dan memperkuat jejaring kemitraan dengan CSR serta pemerintah desa
