Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the use of safflower oil (Carthamus tinctorius L) and inositol on the digestive profile of male Sentul chickens. A total of 182 Sentul chickens aged 17 weeks were reared up to 23 weeks in 91 units of battery cage (6 chickens/unit). The research was conducted in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with nine treatments and three replicates (6 chickens/replicate). The research treatments were R0 = control/ basal feed + 0% Safflower and 0% Inositol; R1 = Basal feed + 0.5% Safflower oil; R2 = Basal feed + 1.0% Safflower oil; R3 = Basal feed + 0.5% Inositol; R4 = Basal feed + 1.0% Inositol; R5 = Basal feed + 0.5% Safflower oil and 0.5% Inositol; R6 = Basal feed + 0.5% Safflower oil and 1.0% Inositol; R7 = Basal feed + 1.0% Safflower oil and 0.5% Inositol; R8 = Basal feed + 1.0% Safflower oil and 1.0% Inositol. Basal feed was composed of corn, rice bran, soybean kernel, fishmeal, palm oil, calcium carbonate (CaCO3), topmix, lysine, and methionine, as well as safflower oil (Carthamus tinctorius L) and inositol. The measured variable consists of digestive profile (the percentage of intestine weight, digesta, proventriculus, gizzard) and intestine length, crypt depth, the width and length of intestinal villi, Intestinal histology profile. The data were subjected to a statistical analysis of variance (ANOVA) continued with an Honestly Significant Difference test (HSD). The result showed that incorporating safflower oil (Carthamus tinctorius L) and inositol into feed did not significantly affect (P>0.05) the digestive profile of Male Sentul chickens. Conclusively, safflower oil and inositol up to 1% in the feed are safe for male Sentul chickens without interfering with the performance of digestive organs because it produces relatively similar intestinal weight and length, crypt depth, as well as the length and width of intestinal villi.

Abstract

Background. Research entitled "Concentrated Substitution with Snail Flour In Laying Commercial Chicken Feed On Weight And Thick Eggshell". The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of substitution of concentrate with conch flour on the weight and thickness of laying commercial chicken shells. Materials and methods. The research material consisted of 80 commercial laying hens. The feed ingredients used are concentrates, conch flour, corn and bran. The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 5 replications, each repetition consisted of 4 laying hens. The treatments consisted of R0: Basal feed without conch flour substitution, R1: Basal feed with 5% conch flour substitution, R2: Basal feed with 10% conch flour substitution, R3: Basal feed with 15% conch flour substitution. Results. The results of the average eggshell weight of the treatments R0, R1, R2, R3 are 7.14; 6.45; 6.87; 6.90 and eggshell thickness is 0.27; 0.26; 0.26; 0.27. Based on the results of the study that the substitution of conch flour has no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the weight and thickness of egg laying hens. Conclusion. The substitution of concentrate with conch flour in laying commercial chicken feed up to 15% resulting in relatively equal quality weight and thickness of egg laying hens.

Abstract

Latar Belakang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan fermeherbafit enkapsulasi dalam pakan terhadap bobot dan persentase organ asesoris ayam broiler. Materi dan Metode. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 80 ekor DOC ayam broiler strain Multi Breeder (MB) 202 Platinum yang dipelihara sampai umur 35 hari. Percobaan dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental in vivo dan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Rancangan terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali dengan masing-masing ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam. Perlakuan terdiri dari R0 = pakan basal/kontrol 0% fermeherbafit enkapsulasi; R1 = penggunaan 1,5% fermeherbafit nonenkapsulasi, R2 = penggunaan 1,5% fermeherbafit enkapsulasi, R3 = penggunaan 3,0% fermeherbafit enkapsulasi, dan R4 = penggunaan 4,5% fermeherbafit enkapsulasi dalam pakan. Parameter yang diamati adalah bobot dan persentase organ hati dan empedu. Hasil. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan fermeherbafit enkapsulasi dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot dan persentase hati serta empedu, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot dan persentase limpa dan pankreas. Uji lanjut BNJ terhadap bobot hati menunjukkan bahwa R1 berbeda nyata dengan R4, dan pada persentase hati menunjukkan bahwa R2 berbeda nyata dengan R3. Uji BNJ pada bobot dan persentase empedu menunjukkan bahwa R0 berbeda nyata dengan R4. Simpulan. Penggunaan fermeherbafit enkapsulasi dalam pakan ayam broiler yang terbaik adalah pada level 4,5% karena dapat meningkatkan meningkatkan bobot hati sebesar 9,37%, meningkatkan persentase hati sebesar 0,11%, meningkatkan bobot empedu sebesar 144,4% dan meningkatkan persentase empedu sebesar 122,9%.
