Abstract

This research aimed to figure out the interaction between chicken manure dosage and potassium fertilizer towards the growth and crop yields of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata L) Varieties of Talenta and to obtain the right dosage of chicken manure and potassium fertilizer that could give the best impact towards the growth and crop yields of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata L) Varieties of Talenta. This research had been started from March to June 2021, in Ciheulang Village, RT 02 RW 06, Ciparay District, Bandung Regency, Province of West Java, by height ±750 meters above the sea level. This research used factorial pattern Randomized Block Design method with 3 times repeat. Factor I: the dosage of chicken manure (a1 = 5 ton/ha, a2 = 10 ton/ha, a3 = 15 ton/ha). Factor II: the dosage of potassium fertilizer (k1 = 100 kg/ha, k2 = 150 kg/ha, k3 = 200 kg/ha). The result findings showed that occured interaction between the dosage of chicken manure and the dosage of potassium fertilizer towards the plant’s height at the age of 35 days after planting, it was showed by the combination of a3k3 treatment (15 ton/ha of dosage of chicken manure and 200 kg/ha of dosage of potassium fertilizer). The giving of chicken manure with dosage 15 ton/ha gave better impact towards the height of plants and cob weights without cornhusk per plot. The giving of potassium fertilizer with dosage 150 kg/ha gave better impact cob weights without cornhusk per plot. While the dosage of 200 kgs/ha of potassium fertilizer gave impact towards the height of plant.

Ciherang varieties. The study was conducted in the month May to August 2019, in Kebontiwu Village, Padaulun Village, Majalaya District, Bandung Regency, West Java Province. This research used factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 3 replications. Factor I: Dosage of chicken manure (k1 = 2.5 tons / ha, k2 = 5 tons / ha, k3 = 7.5 tons / ha). Factor II: Rabbit urine concentration (u1 = 25 ml / L, u2 = 30 ml / L, u3 = 35 ml / L). The results showed that the treatment of chicken manure dosage and rabbit urine concentration had a significantly different effect on the number of productive tillers and interactions effect on harvested unhusked rice and milled unhusked rice. The highest yields were shown by a combination of k2u2 treatment (dose of chicken manure 5 tons / ha and urine concentration of rabbits 30 ml / L) produced harvested unhusked rice 14.10 kg/ plot and milled unhusked rice 12.34 kg/ plot.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and study the effect of the best combination dosage of NPK (15:15:15) and KCl fertilizer on the growth and yield of edamame (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) Ryoko-75 variety. The experiment was carried out in Sukamaju Village, Cimaung District, Bandung Regency, West Java Province, with an altitude of 860 meters above sea level. With a rainfall of 2417.40 mm/year, according to Oldeman (1975), it belongs to the C3 type of rainfall, with a pH of 5.74. The research method used was an experimental method using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 6 treatments and was repeated 4 times so that there were 24 experimental plots. The levels of treatment are: A (100 kg/ha NPK + 250 kg/ha KCl), B (150 kg/ha NPK + 200 kg/ha KCl), C (200 kg/ha NPK + 150 kg/ha KCl), D (250 kg/ha NPK + 100 kg/ha KCl), E (300 kg/ha NPK + 50 kg/ha KCl) and F (350 kg/ha NPK + 0 kg/ha KCl). The results showed that the dosage of 350 kg/ha NPK + 0 kg/ha KCl gave a better effect on plant height, number of pods per plant, pod weight per plant and pod weight per plot of edamame (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) plants. Ryoko-75 variety.

Abstract

To ensure adequate nutrition for the growth of maize (Zea mays L.) in sustainable agriculture, it is necessary to apply bio-agent soil conditioner and manure. This study aims to determine the effect of doses of bioagent-ameliorant and chicken manure on growth and yield components. The research was conducted in highland with an altitude 800 m above sea level. This study used an experimental method with two sets of experiments, namely experiments using one and two-cobs maize cultivars. The experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with two treatment factors and three replications. The first treatment factor was the dose of bioagent ameliorant, which consisted of 3 levels, namely 0, 7.5, and 15 kg/ha, while the second factor was the dose of chicken manure, which consisted of 3 levels, namely 0.5 and 10 tons/ha. The observed growth components were plant height and number of leaves, while the yield components observed were cob length, cob diameter, cob weight per plant, and cob weight per plot. In research on two-cob maize experiment, there was no interaction effect between doses of soil conditioner and chicken manure, while the interaction effect on plant height occurred in one-cob maize experiment. The single effect of ameliorant doses could not increase all components of growth and yield, both in one and two-cob maize cultivars. The single effect of doses of chicken manure increased number of leaves, cob length, cob weight per plant, and cob weight per plot in one-cob maize cultivar, while increased plant height in two-cob maize cultivar.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new type of disease that has never been identified in humans. This disease infects the respiratory tract and is usually transmitted through close physical contact and respiratory droplets. This community service activity aims to increase knowledge and insight among participants regarding the importance of maintaining and following health regulations to minimize and stop the spread of COVID-19 and realize changes in healthy behavior during the pandemic. The methods used are counseling, simulation, and evaluation methods. Before carrying out this activity, socialization was carried out first by visiting the Pakutandang Village office, meeting and discussing with the Pakutandang Village Head regarding the needs that could be provided to minimize and stop the spread of COVID-19, and asking for permission to carry out community service activities. The results of the service show that the service activities went smoothly. Participants participate actively and collaboratively in discussion and question-and-answer activities. This service activity increases and broadens the knowledge and perspectives of the participants, including lecturers at Bale Bandung University, village heads, and government officials from the Pakutandang Village Office, students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Bale Bandung University, residents of Pakutandang Village and the COVID-19 task force in Ciparay District. Thus, the participants understood the importance of following health regulations and continuous spraying of disinfectants in the school and home environment around Pakutandang Village in implementing healthy behavior changes during the pandemic. The activity results will enable the implementation of good habits in complying with health protocols in the school and home environment, especially in Pakutandang Village, Ciparay District.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi pupuk humat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman edamame varietas Ryoko dan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi yang tepat sehingga memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman edamame varietas Ryoko. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Desa Bumiwangi Kecamatan Ciparay Kabupaten Bandung. Dengan ketinggian tempat 650 meter di atas permukaan laut (m dpl), dengan curah hujan 2.417,40 mm/tahun, pH 7,09 tanah (netral). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), yang terdiri dari enam perlakuan dan diulang empat kali. Adapun perlakuan konsentrasi pupuk Humat yaitu : A (0 g/l air), B (0,5 g/l air), C (1,0 g/l air), D (1,5 g/l air), E (2,0 g/l air) dan F (2,5 g/l air) Ukuran petak adalah 150 cm x 200 cm dengan jarak antar petak 30 cm dan jarak antar ulangan 50 cm. Jumlah tanaman per plot adalah 48 tanaman termasuk 4 tanaman sebagai sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian konsentrasi 1 g/l air pupuk Humat memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik pada jumlah polong per tanaman dan bobot polong per plot tanaman edamame varietas Ryoko. The concentrations of Humic fertilizers were: A (0 g/l air), B (0.5 g/l air), C (1.0 g/L air), D (1.5 g/l air), E (2.0 g/l water) and F (2.5 g/l water) The plot size was 150 cm x 200 cm with a distance between plots of 30 cm and a distance between replicates of 50 cm. The number of plants per plot was 48 plants including 4 plants as samples. The results showed that the concentration of 1 g/l humic fertilizer had a better effect on number of pods per plant, and pod weight per plot edamame plant Ryoko variety. Abstract

The problem faced by farmers is the price of fertilizer that continues to rise, especially if there is no subsidy that can ease farming capital. One solution that can be attempted in the problem of agricultural fertilizers is to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and switch to the use of organic fertilizers that are more environmentally friendly and easier to obtain. For agricultural areas such as Girimulya Village, Pacet District, Bandung Regency, where most of the farmers raise livestock, they can utilize livestock waste to be used as organic fertilizer, most of which still have few people who process animal waste into organic fertilizer. This Community Service tries to educate the people of Girimulya Village in utilizing animal waste as organic fertilizer, both solid and liquid types. The implementation of team which has been carried out through several stages, including initial surveys to the location, planning, testing of Solid Organic Fertilizer and Liquid Organic Fertilizer and applying it to plants, and the final stage is educating the community through posters.

Abstract

Background: Pest control with pesticides effectively increases agricultural yields, but exposure to synthetic compounds such as organophosphates carries the risk of neurological damage, reproductive disorders, and carcinogenesis, including increased incidence of breast cancer. Students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Bale University, Bandung, are vulnerable to exposure during field practice, while their knowledge of early breast cancer detection remains low. The Breast Self-Examination (SADARI) education program is proposed as a low-cost and practical preventive measure to increase awareness and early detection skills. This initiative supports students' role as agents of change in strengthening the health of rural communities. Purpose: To increase knowledge and awareness among students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Bale University, Bandung, regarding reproductive health and SADARI as an early detection method for breast cancer. Method: The type of activity carried out was health education to the community with the theme "Socialization of BSE and Clinical Breast Examination: An Effective Strategy to Build Reproductive Health Resilience in Agricultural Students." The target of this activity was 23 third-semester students, who were of productive age and vulnerable to various reproductive health risks. The first activity was held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 08.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB. at the Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Garden, in the form of demonstrations and direct practice by participants, such as breast self-examination (BSE) simulations, which are an important part in developing participants' practical skills. The second activity was held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 08.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB. in the classroom, participants were given educational materials regarding reproductive health, breast cancer risk factors, and steps to perform BSE correctly, which were delivered through presentations, educational videos, and interactive discussions to explore participants' understanding and provide a question and answer space. Results: The pre-test showed that 7 (30.4%) respondents' knowledge of early detection and breast cancer risk was in the good category, 12 (52.2%), and 4 (17.4%) were in the poor category. Meanwhile, the post-test respondents' knowledge of early detection and breast cancer risk was all in the good category, at 23 (100.0%). Conclusion: The community service activity themed Breast Self-Examination (SADARI) education and outreach for agricultural students was implemented smoothly and successfully increased participants' knowledge, awareness, and skills in maintaining reproductive health and conducting early breast cancer detection. Through a combination of theoretical counseling and direct practice, students gained conceptual understanding and practical experience as health education agents in the community, particularly in rural areas. Suggestion: It is hoped that this activity will be carried out continuously by participants, thereby encouraging independent SADARI practice and disseminating information and correct health practices in rural areas and the agricultural sector, which will be the participants' primary service areas, as a form of preventive behavior in maintaining reproductive health. Keywords: Breast cancer prevention; Pesticide exposure; Reproductive health; SADARI method Pendahuluan: Pengendalian hama dengan pestisida efektif meningkatkan hasil pertanian, namun paparan senyawa sintetik seperti organofosfat berisiko memicu kerusakan neurologis, gangguan reproduksi, dan karsinogenesis, termasuk meningkatnya insiden kanker payudara. Mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Bale Bandung rentan terpapar saat praktik lapangan, sementara pengetahuan deteksi dini kanker payudara di kalangan mereka masih rendah. Program edukasi mandiri SADARI (Pemeriksaan Payudara Sendiri) diusulkan sebagai langkah preventif murah dan praktis untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan deteksi dini. Inisiatif ini mendukung peran mahasiswa sebagai agen perubahan dalam memperkuat kesehatan masyarakat pedesaan. Tujuan: Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran Mahasiswa fakultas pertanian Universitas Bale Bandung  tentang kesehatan reproduksi dan SADARI sebagai upaya deteksi dini terhadap kanker payudara. Metode: Jenis kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berupa pendidikan kesehatan kepada masyarakat dengan mengusung tema “Sosialisasi SADARI dan Pemeriksaan Klinis Payudara: Strategi Efektif Membangun Ketahanan Kesehatan Reproduksi Mahasiswa Pertanian.” Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah 23 mahasiswa semester III, yang berada pada usia produktif dan rentan terhadap berbagai risiko kesehatan reproduksi. Kegiatan pertama dilaksanakan pada hari sabtu tanggal 23 Maret 2024, mulai pukul 08.00 WIB hingga 15.00 WIB. di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, berupa demonstrasi dan praktik langsung oleh peserta, seperti simulasi pemeriksaan payudara sendiri (SADARI), yang menjadi bagian penting dalam membentuk keterampilan praktis peserta. Kegiatan kedua dilaksanakan pada hari senin tanggal 1 April 2024, pukul 08.00 WIB hingga 15.00 WIB. di ruang kelas, peserta diberikan materi edukatif mengenai kesehatan reproduksi, faktor risiko kanker payudara, serta langkah-langkah melakukan SADARI dengan benar, yang disampaikan melalui presentasi, video edukatif, dan diskusi interaktif untuk menggali pemahaman peserta serta memberikan ruang tanya jawab. Hasil: Menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan responden tentang deteksi dini dan risiko kanker payudara pre-test dalam kategori baik sebanyak 7 (30.4%), kategori cukup sebanyak 12 (52.2%), dan kategori kurang sebanyak 4 (17.4%). Sedangkan tingkat pengetahuan responden tentang deteksi dini dan risiko kanker payudara post-test semuanya dalam kategori baik yaitu sebanyak 23 (100.0%). Simpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertema edukasi dan sosialisasi SADARI (Pemeriksaan Payudara Sendiri) bagi mahasiswa pertanian telah terlaksana dengan lancar dan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan peserta dalam menjaga kesehatan reproduksi serta melakukan deteksi dini kanker payudara. Melalui kombinasi penyuluhan teori dan praktik langsung, mahasiswa memperoleh pemahaman konseptual sekaligus pengalaman aplikatif sebagai agen edukasi kesehatan di masyarakat, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan. Saran: Diharapkan kegiatan ini dilakukan secara berkelanjutan oleh peserta, sehingga dapat mendorong praktik SADARI secara mandiri dan menyebarluaskan informasi serta praktik kesehatan yang benar di lingkungan pedesaan dan sektor pertanian yang menjadi wilayah pengabdian utama peserta kelak, sebagai bentuk perilaku preventif dalam menjaga kesehatan reproduksi.

The experiment was carried out in Bumiwangi Village, Ciparay District, Bandung Regency. With an altitude of 650 meters above sea level (m asl), with a rainfall of 2,417.40 mm/year, soil pH 7.09 (neutral). The research method used was an experimental method with a Randomized Block Design (RBD), which consisted of six treatments and was repeated four times. The concentrations of Humic fertilizers were: A (0 g/l air), B (0.5 g/l air), C (1.0 g/L air), D (1.5 g/l air), E (2.0 g/l water) and F (2.5 g/l water) The plot size was 150 cm x 200 cm with a distance between plots of 30 cm and a distance between replicates of 50 cm. The number of plants per plot was 48 plants including 4 plants as samples. The results showed that the concentration of 1 g/l humic fertilizer had a better effect on number of pods per plant, and pod weight per plot edamame plant Ryoko variety.
