Abstract

Machining parameters are something that must be considered, where machining parameters are related to vibrations (chatters) that occur during the cutting process. Vibration (chatter) can affect the quality of the geometry of the resulting product. To find out this, it is necessary to test the influence of machining parameters on the vibration level and quality of product geometry. Measurement of vibration level values and product geometry quality is carried out at variations of 60 rpm, 215 rpm, 330 rpm and 1140 rpm, with variations in cutting depth of 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. The results of the cutting process with the influence of machining parameters (spindle rotation and cutting depth) on vibration, the most optimal value with a low vibration level is obtained, namely in the cutting process with spindle rotation parameters (n) 1140 rpm, and cutting depth (a) 1 mm produces a vibration value of 2.1 mm / s. However, for the most optimal cutting process, the highest vibration level value is produced, that is, in the cutting process with spindle rotation parameters (n) 215 rpm and cutting depth (a) 3 mm resulting in a vibration value of 3.4 mm / s. From the results of measuring the vibration level, it is obtained that the vibration level value has exceeded the permissible tolerance limit. However, for the influence of machining parameters on the quality of product geometry, results are obtained with the quality of product geometry that is still within the permissible tolerance limits, namely at spindle rotation (n) 1140 rpm. For the results of measuring the quality of product geometry at spindle rotation (n) 60 rpm, 215 rpm and 330 rpm, the quality results of product geometry obtained have exceeded the permissible tolerance limit.

Abstract

Bengkulu Province is one of Indonesia's top coffee producers. However, coffee processing is still done traditionally. Therefore, modern processing is required, particularly in the roasting process, which is vital in deciding the flavor of the coffee. This study aims to design, build, and test a low-energy coffee roaster with a capacity of 2 kg. The components of a coffee roaster are designed according to the demands and relevant standards, such as drum volume, drum material, shaft size, pulley size, belt, burner stove, and motor parameters. The coffee roaster is then tested by altering the distance between the fire holes to 10, 15, and 20 mm with a diameter of 3 mm, as well as varying the rotating speed of the drum to 60, 65, and 70 rpm and varying the coffee varieties, namely Robusta and Arabica. The testing of coffee roasting equipment with a capacity of 2 kg went smoothly. The results show that the ideal distance of the stove burner hole to attain 200 °C was discovered at a distance of 10 mm and a distance of the stove to the drum of 10 mm with a time of 17.24 minutes. For Robusta and Arabica coffee beans testing, the light roast should be roasted for 10 minutes. The medium roast requires 15 minutes of roasting time. And the dark roast requires a 20-minute roasting process. Furthermore, the rotating speed of the drum has little influence on the character of roasted coffee beans

Abstract

Understanding conversation analysis (CA) in a K-pop interview setting offers valuable insights into how multilingual speakers manage turn-taking, negotiate meaning, and engage in structured dialogue within a media context. This study examines the interactional patterns in an interview between Kevan Kenney and the K-pop idol group NCT127 on the BUILD talk show. Using a Conversation Analysis (CA) approach, this research aims to identify the CA aspects that emerge during the interview and to explore their communicative functions. A qualitative approach, specifically a descriptive qualitative method, was employed to analyze the primary data, which consisted of a video interview and its conversational transcript. The findings reveal the presence of key CA elements, including opening conversation, adjacency pairs, preference organization, turn-taking, feedback, repair, and closing conversation. Additionally, six communicative functions—referential, emotive, conative, phatic, metalinguistic, and poetic—were identified. These results highlight the structured nature of conversation in media interviews and the role of language functions in shaping interaction, particularly in cross-cultural and multilingual settings. By analyzing this interaction, the study contributes to the broader field of discourse analysis, particularly in media and intercultural communication.

Abstract

Pump is a device used to move fluid. The pump moved the fluid from a lower pressure place to a place with higher pressure. If the head or pump capacity needed cannot be achieved using only one pump, it can use two pumps or even more which can be arranged either in series or in parallel. The research objective for pumps arranged in series and in parallel is to determine the characteristics of the circuit of two pumps each of which has different characteristics. In this study, data retrieval is done by measuring the pressure on suction and discharge using pressure gauge at pumps 1 and 2. Whereas to measure the flow rate of a pump arranged in series and parallel using a flowmeter installed on the discharge side of the circuit. This research was done by varied the valve openings on the pump discharge side 2 namely. 2x1800, 4x1800, 6x1800, 8x1800 and full openings. From the results of tested the characteristics of the pump used water fluid on the series arrangement, the highest head value at valve opening 2 x 1800 is 30.99 m at discharge 0 LPM and the lowest head at valve opening 10 x 1800 (full) is 23.99 m at discharge 0 LPM. In parallel circuits, the highest head obtained is 16.99 m with 0 LPM discharge at 8 x 1800 valve openings and lowest head 14.99 at 0 LPM discharge occurs at full valve openings.
