Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning media of Chemo-Edutainment-based chemical ludo game on Atomic Structure material that has been valid, practical, and effective but has not been tested for its effect on student cognitive learning outcomes. The research conducted aims to determine the effect of using Chemo-Edutainment-based chemical ludo game learning media on Atomic Structure material on cognitive learning outcomes of students in class X phase E SMA / MA. This type of research is Quasi-Experimental Research with Non-equivalent Control Group Design research design. The population in this study were all students of class X.E SMAN 14 Padang. The research sample was selected using Purposive-Sampling technique so that X.E 5 class was obtained as the experimental class and X.E 6 class as the control class. This research instrument is a test of cognitive learning outcomes by giving a pretest and posttest in the form of an objective test with 5 answer choices as many as 25 items taken from 40 questions that have been tested. The data analysis used is t-test with the results of t-count (3.07) > t-table (1.67). So it can be concluded that the use of Chemo-Edutainment-based chemical ludo game learning media on Atomic Structure material has an effect in improving the learning outcomes of students in class X Phase E SMAN 14 Padang. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh media pembelajaran permainan ludo kimia berbasis Chemo-Edutainment pada materi Struktur Atom yang telah valid, praktis, dan efektif namun belum diuji pengaruhnya terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran permainan ludo kimia berbasis Chemo-Edutainment pada materi Struktur Atom terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X fase E SMA/MA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi-Experimental Research dengan rancangan penelitian Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X.E SMAN 14 Padang. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive-Sampling sehingga didapatkan kelas X.E 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.E 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrument penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar kognitif dengan memberikan pretest dan posttest berupa tes objektif dengan 5 pilihan jawaban sebanyak 25 butir soal yang diambil dari 40 soal yang telah diujicobakan. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t dengan hasil t-hitung (3,07) > t-tabel (1,67). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran permainan ludo kimia berbasis Chemo-Edutainment pada materi Struktur Atom berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X Fase E SMAN 14 Padang.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the chemical ludo game as a learning media on molecular form material that has been tested for validity and practicality, but has not been tested for its effectiveness on student cognitive learning outcomes. This study aims to reveal the level of effectiveness of chemical ludo games on cognitive learning outcomes of Class XI Phase F SMA/ MA students. This type of research uses Quasi Experimental Design (pseudo experiment) with a research design of nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were students of Class XI Phase F SMA N 12 Padang. The sample was taken with purposive sampling technique so that class XI F10 was selected as the experimental class and class XI F8 as the control class. The research instruments used were pretest and posttest learning outcomes tests. Data analysis techniques used are N-Gain test, normality test, homogeneity test and t test. Based on data analysis, the experimental class N-Gain test results obtained 0.78 with high category while the control class N-Gain obtained 0.55 with moderate category. The t-test result at the real level of 0.05 is tcount (8.529) > ttable (1.67) which shows H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted so that the experimental class students' learning outcomes are higher than the control class. So it can be concluded that the chemical ludo game media as a learning media on molecular form material is effective in improving the cognitive learning outcomes of Class XI Phase F SMA/MA students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas permainan ludo kimia terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa Kelas XI Fase F SMA/MA. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi Experimental Design (eksperimen semu) dengan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas XI Fase F SMA N 12 Padang. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga terpilih kelas XI F10 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI F8 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji N-Gain, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji t. Berdasarkan analisis data, hasil uji N-Gain kelas eksperimen diperoleh 0,78 dengan kategori tinggi sedangkan N-Gain kelas kontrol diperoleh 0,55 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil uji t pada taraf nyata 0,05 adalah thitung (8,529)>ttabel (1,67) yang menunjukkan H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima sehingga diperoleh hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media permainan ludo kimia sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi bentuk molekul efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa Kelas XI Fase F SMA/MA.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the availability of the Ludo Kimia educational game for the topic of equilibrium shifts and their influencing factors, which has been proven to be valid and practical, yet its impact on student learning outcomes remains to be determined. The objective of this research is to examine the effect of using the Ludo Kimia game on the learning outcomes of Phase F high school students in the topic of equilibrium shifts. A quasi-experimental method was employed using a posttest-only control group design. The study population consisted of students from classes XI F1, XI F2, XI F3, XI F4, and XI F6 at SMAN 1 Batangkapas. The sample was selected through random sampling and included two classes: the experimental class (XI F2) and the control class (XI F1). Data were obtained from the posttest results and analyzed using a t-test. The analysis revealed that the average cognitive learning outcome score of the experimental class (75.16) was significantly higher than that of the control class (65.16), with a t-value of 3.34 > t-table value of 1.67 at a significance level of α = 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Ludo Kimia game in teaching the topic of equilibrium shifts and their influencing factors has a significant positive effect on improving the learning outcomes of Phase F students.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the availability of an Android-based Snakes and Ladders Chemistry educational game on the topic of acids and bases, which has been proven valid, practical, and effective yet its influence on students' cognitive learning outcomes remains unexplored. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of using this media on the cognitive learning outcomes of Phase F senior high school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental design using a Post-test Only Control Group Design. The population consisted of all Grade XI Phase F students at SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung, with random sampling used to select XI Chemistry 1 as the control group and XI Chemistry 2 as the experimental group. The instrument used was a cognitive learning outcome test. Data analysis included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using a t-test. The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class was 75.7, while the control class scored 62.5. The t-test result indicated that tcount (2.89) > ttable (1.70) at a significance level of α = 0.05, meaning that the use of the media had a significant effect on learning outcomes. The study concludes that the Android-based Snakes and Ladders Chemistry game positively influences students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of acids and bases.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the availability of the Ludo Kimia educational game, which has been proven valid, practical, and effective as a learning exercise on acid-base material, yet its impact on students' cognitive learning outcomes remains unexplored. The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of using the Ludo Kimia game on the cognitive learning outcomes of Phase F students at SMA Negeri 14 Padang. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population consisted of all Phase F students, with samples selected through simple random sampling, resulting in class XI F.4 as the control group and XI F.3 as the experimental group. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test comprising 20 validated items. Data were analyzed using the t-test to evaluate the research hypothesis. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 86.56, higher than the control class average of 77.5. The t-test yielded tcount (2.466) > ttable (1.996) at a significance level of α = 0.05, indicating a statistically significant effect. The study concludes that the use of the Ludo Kimia game significantly improves students’ cognitive learning outcomes on acid-base topics.

Abstract

Phoenix dactylifera L. is widely available on the market and is generally consumed directly, whereas kurma Ajwa dates have a high nutritional content (water 22.8 g; ash 3.43 g; protein 2.91 g; fat 0.47 g; carbohydrates 70%; dietary fiber 6.5–11.5%; and mineral contents of sodium 7.5 mg/100 g, magnesium 150 mg/100 g, calcium 187 mg/100 g, potassium 476.3 mg/100 g, phosphorus 27 mg/100 g, iron 0.15 mg/100 g, and zinc 0.52 mg/100 g), thus presenting potential as a food source to support the prevention of nutritional problems such as stunting. This study aimed to analyze the effect of adding Ajwa date pulp juice as a form of food diversification on the aroma, color, taste, texture, and mineral content of a chocolate beverage. A quantitative method was employed with varying concentrations of Ajwa date pulp addition of 0 g (control), 5 g, 10 g, 15 g, 20 g, and 25 g, coded as M1 to M6, respectively. The characteristics of the chocolate date beverage were evaluated using a hedonic test for aroma, color, taste, and texture, while the nutritional value (minerals) was analyzed by XRF in the sample most preferred by the panelists. Data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA. The results show that the inclusion of Ajwa date pulp juice in the chocolate beverage formulation received positive panelist preferences and tended to increase nutritional value, particularly mineral content; M6 was the most preferred product among 25 panelists, and one of the minerals that increased was calcium, from 41.77 in M1 to 42.172 in M6. However, the addition of Ajwa date pulp juice at different concentrations did not produce statistically significant effects on the hedonic test results (aroma, color, taste, and texture) or on the mineral content of the beverage. Thus, varying levels of Ajwa date pulp juice in chocolate beverages can increase mineral levels, although not significantly in statistical terms, and have potential to be utilized as an alternative form of chocolate beverage diversification based on functional foods.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health issue in Indonesia, including in Padang Pariaman Regency, where the prevalence reached 28.3% in 2021 and declined to 19.4% in 2023. Efforts to prevent stunting require a community-based approach that utilizes local resources, one of which is the nipa palm fruit (Nypa fruticans), known for its high nutritional content and potential as functional food. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres in Nagari Katapiang in processing nipa fruit into nutritious and economically valuable food products. The methods included nutrition education, dissemination of information on nipa fruit potential, and training on appropriate technology for processing nipa into food products such as jam, nuggets, and meatballs. Evaluation was carried out through pre- and post-activity questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in cadres’ knowledge of nipa’s nutritional content (from 20% to 100%) and health benefits (from 30% to 100%). Perceptions of nipa’s role in stunting prevention also increased from 25% to 95%. Furthermore, practical skills in producing nipa jam improved, where all participants who had never tried before were able to produce processed products after the training. Thus, this PKM activity successfully enhanced the knowledge and practical skills of Posyandu cadres, while demonstrating the potential of nipa fruit as a local food innovation supporting stunting prevention efforts.

Abstract

The reaction rate topic is an abstract chemistry concept closely related to everyday life. However, students often struggle to connect theoretical concepts with real phenomena, resulting in less meaningful learning and limited critical thinking development. Therefore, learning resources grounded in local culture are needed to help students understand chemistry concepts through contextual experiences. The use of an ethnoscience-based module integrated with the GDL model in the reaction rate topic is expected to bridge scientific concepts with local wisdom and enhance students’ critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop and evaluate the validity and practicality of an ethnoscience-based module using the GDL model for the reaction rate topic in Phase F, Grade XI SMA/MA. The research employed a R&D design based on the Plomp model, consisting of the preliminary phase, the development or prototyping phase, and the assessment phase. The study was limited to validity and practicality testing, using a Likert scale questionnaire with a score range of 1–5. The validity assessment results showed an Aiken’s V value ranging from 0.93 to 0.97 across all aspects, indicating high validity. In addition, the practicality level obtained from teachers and students was 95% and 91%, respectively, indicating that the module is practical. Thus, the ethnoscience-based module using the GDL model is valid and practical for supporting learning in the reaction rate topic at the senior high school level. ABSTRAKMateri laju reaksi merupakan topik kimia yang bersifat abstrak namun memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Peserta didik sering mengalami kesulitan dalam menghubungkan konsep teoritis dengan fenomena nyata sehingga pembelajaran menjadi kurang bermakna dan belum mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan sumber belajar yang berorientasi pada budaya lokal agar konsep kimia dapat dipahami melalui pengalaman kontekstual. Penggunaan Modul Bermuatan Etnosains dengan Model GDL pada materi laju reaksi diharapkan dapat mengintegrasikan konsep ilmiah dengan nilai kearifan lokal serta meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan serta menguji validitas dan praktikalitas modul bermuatan etnosains berbasis GDL pada materi laju reaksi fase F kelas XI SMA/MA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D dengan model Plomp, yang terdiri atas preliminary, development or prototyping phase, dan assessment phase. Penelitian ini dibatasi hingga tahap uji validitas dan praktikalitas menggunakan instrumen berupa skala Likert dengan rentang skor 1–5. Hasil analisis validitas modul bermuatan etnosains berbasis GDL pada materi laju reaksi fase F kelas XI SMA/MA menggunakan Aikens’V, dengan nilai Aiken’s V pada setiap aspek berada antara 0,93-0,97 dinyatakan valid serta tingkat kepraktisan guru dan peserta didik masing-masing sebesar 95% dan 91% diyatakan praktis. Dengan demikian modul bermuatan etnosains berbasis GDL pada materi laju reaksi fase F kelas XI SMA/MA telah valid dan praktis digunakan sebagai sumber belajar pada materi laju reaksi di SMA/MA.
