Abstract

Abstract

This study presents the development and evaluation of a low-cost, non-contact micro-diameter measurement instrument based on Fraunhofer diffraction for physics education and basic laboratory use. The prototype integrates a 650 nm laser diode, a 16-channel photodiode array, and an ESP32 microcontroller to automate diffraction pattern acquisition and analysis. Repeated measurements were conducted on human hair and banana midrib fibers, with twenty trials for each sample, to examine measurement stability and precision. The system consistently captured diffraction patterns within expected physical ranges. The mean diameter of the human hair sample was 1.99 μm with a standard deviation of 0.12 μm and a coefficient of variation (CV) of 6.03%, indicating high precision. For banana midrib fibers, the mean diameter was 3.22 μm with a standard deviation of 0.37 μm and a CV of 11.49%, which is acceptable for heterogeneous biological materials. Narrow 95% confidence intervals for both samples confirm reliable mean estimation. The results demonstrate that the developed instrument provides stable, repeatable measurements while remaining affordable and simple to operate. This prototype is therefore suitable as an instructional laboratory tool for teaching diffraction concepts and quantitative measurement skills in physics education, as well as for basic research in resource-limited laboratory environments.

Abstract

This study aimed to delineate the distribution of faults and fractures in the Cihideung Segment using the Fault Fracture Density (FFD) method based on high-resolution LiDAR topographic data from BMKG in 2024. The LiDAR-based Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data were processed into multi-azimuth hillshade images, followed by visual interpretation of morphological lineaments digitized as polylines. The density of lineament lengths was then calculated within specific grid units to generate an FFD map for identifying structural deformation zones. The results indicate several zones with high lineament density that follow the main trace of the Lembang Fault and its associated branches, particularly around Cihanjuang Rahayu, Cigugur Girang, Gudangkahuripan, and Pagerwangi. These zones are interpreted  as  areas  experiencing  the  most intensive deformation and therefore have important implications for spatial planning, earthquake hazard mitigation, and landslide risk management in the study area. Abstract

This study aimed to characterize the subsurface structure of the Palu-Koro Fault through the integration of gravity anomaly analysis and the Fast Sigmoid Edge Detection (FSED) method. The study employed the gravity method using Complete Bouguer Anomaly (CBA) data derived from GGMplus/SRTM2Gravity2018. The data were analyzed through regional-residual anomaly separation and potential field derivative analyses, including Derivative-X, Derivative-Y, Derivative-Z, Horizontal Gradient Magnitude (HGM), Tilt Angle (TA), Tilt Angle Horizontal Gradient (TAHG), and FSED. The results indicate that the main trace of the Palu-Koro Fault is characterized by high gravity gradients, consistent sign changes in the Tilt Angle, and strong, continuous FSED responses. Rose diagram analysis of lineaments reveals dominant north–south to northwest–southeast orientations that are consistent with the regional fault trend. In conclusion, the integration of multiple gravity anomaly attributes effectively delineates the geometry and structural segmentation of the Palu-Koro Fault, demonstrating its potential as a reliable approach for active fault mapping and providing an important scientific basis for seismic hazard assessment in Central Sulawesi.  Keywords: FSED, GGMplus/SRTM2Gravity2018, Gravity Anomaly, Palu-Koro Fault, Subsurface Structure, Tilt Angle

Abstract

Research was conducted to determine distribution of Conglomerate in Surodadi Village, Gringsing, Batang. The data acquisition used Schlumberger array. The length of line is 165 m and 15 m electrode spacing. The data processing used Microsoft Excel and 2D imaging used Res2Dinv. Then 3D imaging used Rockworks from result of Res2DInv inversion. The position data was used on UTM coordinate from position data each of electrode. The data acquisition was done at two parallel lines. In this area was found two types of rocks; tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate. The conglomerate with resistivity values higher than 180 Wm is distribution on southeast research area at the depth 5 m – 25 m. While the tuffaceous sandstone layers is distribution on northwest research area.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of problem-solving abilities of class XII-2 on the main topic of Static Electricity at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang through the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subject of the classroom action research used 1 class XII-2 with 36 students at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang. Learning with the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach that does not refer to class levels and facilitates various characteristics of students. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. TaRL emphasizes teachers to provide different treatments to students. Data on learning interests were collected through questionnaires and data on learning outcomes through written tests with both being analyzed quantitatively. Through this study, it was obtained that the increase in students' learning interests increased from 2.99 in the good category to 3.61 in the very good category. Student learning outcomes increased from 58% below the KKM in cycle I, to 84% above the KKM in cycle II. The implementation of the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach can increase students' interest and learning outcomes in static electricity material in class XII-2 of SMA Negeri 5 Semarang.
