Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) is motivated by the problems of low productivity and inefficiency of rice farming in Woyla Barat District due to reliance on manual planting methods, high labor costs, and minimal technology adoption. The program aims to enhance production efficiency through the implementation of semi-automatic rice transplanters, reduce production costs, and strengthen farmers' capacity based on Islamic economic principles. The implementation method consists of five stages: socialization, technical training, technology application, mentoring, and sustainability evaluation, using a participatory approach involving 10 farmers from the Berkah Bersama Farmers Group. The results demonstrate significant efficiency improvements: cost savings of up to 77%, reduction in planting time from 6 days to 1 day per hectare, decrease in labor requirements by up to 83%, and increased crop productivity by 15–25%. The program also strengthened the farmers' group institution through a sharia-based cooperative model and the internalization of values such as justice, efficiency, and gratitude. The implication is the creation of a sustainable agricultural system that integrates modern technology with Islamic values, supporting local food security. The program concludes that the integration of technology and a sharia-based approach can economically and socially empower farmers, with potential for replication in other regions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) based recommendation systems on the satisfaction of vocational students, focusing on two main variables: feature mapping and technological readiness. The research background is driven by the need for more adaptive and personalized learning, considering that conventional methods tend to be generic and overlook individual differences. Involving 183 vocational students selected through purposive sampling, the study employs a quantitative approach with descriptive and associative methods. Data were collected using valid and reliable questionnaires with a 1–5 Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that both feature mapping and technological readiness have a positive and significant influence on student satisfaction. Simultaneously, these two variables explain 43% of the variation in student satisfaction. Partially, feature mapping has the most dominant influence compared to technological readiness, indicating the importance of adaptive feature design in AI-based recommendation systems. This study proves that technology-based learning material personalization if supported by adequate infrastructure can enhance the learning experience and satisfaction of vocational students. Therefore, the study recommends the development of AI-based adaptive learning models that prioritize aspects of feature design and technological readiness to improve the effectiveness and quality of vocational education.

Abstract

This community service aims to identify and enhance the awareness and understanding of students at SMKN 1 Meureubo regarding evacuation routes in the face of earthquake and tsunami threats. Meureubo, located on the west coast of Aceh, is in a high-risk zone for tsunamis, making comprehension of evacuation routes crucial to minimizing the risk of casualties. This outreach involves participatory methods including counseling, evacuation drills, questionnaire distribution, and the dissemination of educational materials on the steps to be taken during a disaster. The evacuation routes introduced consist of five routes. The results of this activity show a significant increase in students' knowledge and preparedness for emergency evacuation procedures. Regarding the ease of access to the provided evacuation routes, 44.4% of respondents agreed, while 48.5% disagreed due to the lack of evacuation signs leading to the designated assembly points. Therefore, it is hoped that this activity will continue and be disseminated to the entire community of West Aceh Regency, especially in Meureubo sub-district, so that it can serve as a model to be implemented in other schools in disaster-prone areas to enhance the safety and well-being of the community.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the understanding of poultry traders in West Aceh regarding slaughter procedures in accordance with Islamic law (Sharia). The implementation methods include interactive educational workshops, socialization, and direct assistance to traders. The workshops discuss the importance of halal slaughter and Sharia-compliant business management, supported by expert speakers from the Department of Islamic Sharia. In addition to theoretical learning, traders are also involved in hands-on slaughtering practices to ensure proper implementation. Evaluation and monitoring are conducted to measure the traders' improved understanding, with a focus on the sustainability of the practices taught. This program has produced several important outcomes, such as increased trader knowledge, training certification, and additional facilities to support their businesses. The positive impact is felt not only by the traders but also by consumers who are more confident in the halal status of poultry products. Discussion sessions allow participants to share experiences and provide suggestions for further training, including the slaughtering of other animals such as goats and buffaloes. This program contributes to the improvement of Sharia-based business quality in West Aceh and strengthens consumer trust in products that meet halal standards. Support from various parties, including the government and the community, reinforces the success of this program.

Abstract

After earthquake and tsunami in 2004, Aceh Barat Regency had been trying to reduce disaster risk by making evacuation routes for residents from disaster-prone areas to high and safe places. However, currently several existing evacuation routes are in a badly damaged condition, namely the Alue Peunyareng - UTD Ujong Tanoh Darat Village, Meureubo District and the Meulaboh - Tutut Keuramat Village, Kaway XVI District. If the condition of the road is in a badly damaged condition, during the disaster evacuation process, this area will experience many obstacles, i.e., the level of driving safety and slower vehicle travel time. This study aims to evaluate the level of road damage on the two existing roads by comparing the Bina Marga and Pavement Condition Index (PCI) methods. The data was collected by field observations through measuring the level of damage, and the Average Daily Traffic (LHR) survey. The analysis results by two methods showed that the condition of the Alue Peunyareng - UTD road, Ujong Tanoh Darat Village, Meureubo District was very poor category with an average PCI value of 23.30 and the priority value of handling is 4 with periodic maintenance recommendation, whereas the Meulaboh road - Tutut Keuramat Village, Kaway XVI District was poor category with an average PCI value of 31.33 and a priority value of 3 with road improvement recommendation. The recommendation for alternative treatment is to replace the pavement by calculating the additional pavement layer thickness or by recycling the existing pavement for a more efficient cost.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic values into vocational education remains a growing concern as efforts to balance technical competence with ethical integrity continue. This exploratory study examines how the understanding of Islamic values influences the professional ethical commitment of vocational education students in the construction sector. A quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the direct relationship between the two constructs. Data were collected from 39 purposively selected respondents with prior exposure to Islamic-based vocational ethics. The findings indicate that Islamic values have a positive and significant effect on ethical commitment (β = 0.520; p < 0.01), explaining 27% of the variance. The model's moderate explanatory power suggests that contextual and institutional factors beyond individual value comprehension also shape ethical commitment. Theoretically, this study contributes to the discourse on Islamic education by providing empirical evidence on integrating faith-based ethics into vocational pedagogy as a foundation for developing moral professionalism. Given the limited sample size and scope, the findings are exploratory and not broadly generalizable. Nonetheless, they underscore the practical importance of embedding Islamic values into vocational curricula to produce graduates who are not only technically proficient but also ethically consistent and socially responsible within the construction industry.

Abstract

Hydrometeorological disasters, such as the flash flood in West Aceh Regency in November 2025, caused severe damage to the houses of affected residents. This study aims to analyze economic, social, physical, and livability conditions and to establish post‑disaster housing intervention priorities. A quantitative descriptive method with percentage analysis was used on 187 affected households. Results show that 51.3% have very low income (<Rp500,000), 71.1% never save, 58.3% own no land, and 55.1% own no livestock. Social conditions are vulnerable: 40.1% have a very crowded room ratio, 54.5% have elderly/children under five, and 56.1% have low education level. Physical house conditions are severely damaged: leaky roofs (68.4%), poorly installed walls (65.2%), and weak floors (63.1%). Livability is very low: inadequate waste disposal (76.5%), fire hazards (70.1%), and structural hazards (69.0%). Based on the integration of the four variables, three priority levels for housing intervention were established: high priority (50 households) require total house reconstruction, medium priority (30 households) require heavy rehabilitation, and low priority (107 households) require light repairs. Given budget constraints, priority is given to the 50 households with the worst conditions. This study provides an objective basis for post‑disaster housing intervention priorities.
