Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) is motivated by the problems of low productivity and inefficiency of rice farming in Woyla Barat District due to reliance on manual planting methods, high labor costs, and minimal technology adoption. The program aims to enhance production efficiency through the implementation of semi-automatic rice transplanters, reduce production costs, and strengthen farmers' capacity based on Islamic economic principles. The implementation method consists of five stages: socialization, technical training, technology application, mentoring, and sustainability evaluation, using a participatory approach involving 10 farmers from the Berkah Bersama Farmers Group. The results demonstrate significant efficiency improvements: cost savings of up to 77%, reduction in planting time from 6 days to 1 day per hectare, decrease in labor requirements by up to 83%, and increased crop productivity by 15–25%. The program also strengthened the farmers' group institution through a sharia-based cooperative model and the internalization of values such as justice, efficiency, and gratitude. The implication is the creation of a sustainable agricultural system that integrates modern technology with Islamic values, supporting local food security. The program concludes that the integration of technology and a sharia-based approach can economically and socially empower farmers, with potential for replication in other regions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) based recommendation systems on the satisfaction of vocational students, focusing on two main variables: feature mapping and technological readiness. The research background is driven by the need for more adaptive and personalized learning, considering that conventional methods tend to be generic and overlook individual differences. Involving 183 vocational students selected through purposive sampling, the study employs a quantitative approach with descriptive and associative methods. Data were collected using valid and reliable questionnaires with a 1–5 Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that both feature mapping and technological readiness have a positive and significant influence on student satisfaction. Simultaneously, these two variables explain 43% of the variation in student satisfaction. Partially, feature mapping has the most dominant influence compared to technological readiness, indicating the importance of adaptive feature design in AI-based recommendation systems. This study proves that technology-based learning material personalization if supported by adequate infrastructure can enhance the learning experience and satisfaction of vocational students. Therefore, the study recommends the development of AI-based adaptive learning models that prioritize aspects of feature design and technological readiness to improve the effectiveness and quality of vocational education.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted as a response to the flash flood disaster that struck Woyla Barat District, Aceh Barat Regency, in 2025, which caused damage to settlements, disruption of socio-economic activities, and limited access to basic needs for the affected communities. This activity is considered important due to the high vulnerability of the area to hydrometeorological disasters and the need for active involvement of higher education institutions during the emergency response phase. The objective of the program was to support the fulfillment of basic needs for affected communities while strengthening the role of local institutions through a community-based approach. The method employed was a responsive and participatory approach, including coordination with partners, beneficiary data collection, humanitarian aid distribution, and brief community assistance. The results indicate that the aid was distributed appropriately, enhanced social solidarity, and reduced the economic burden on communities during the early post-disaster phase. This activity highlights the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and local organizations in community-based disaster response.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic values into vocational education remains a growing concern as efforts to balance technical competence with ethical integrity continue. This exploratory study examines how the understanding of Islamic values influences the professional ethical commitment of vocational education students in the construction sector. A quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the direct relationship between the two constructs. Data were collected from 39 purposively selected respondents with prior exposure to Islamic-based vocational ethics. The findings indicate that Islamic values have a positive and significant effect on ethical commitment (β = 0.520; p < 0.01), explaining 27% of the variance. The model’s moderate explanatory power suggests that contextual and institutional factors beyond individual value comprehension also shape ethical commitment. Theoretically, this study contributes to the discourse on Islamic education by providing empirical evidence on integrating faith-based ethics into vocational pedagogy as a foundation for developing moral professionalism. Given the limited sample size and scope, the findings are exploratory and not broadly generalizable. Nonetheless, they underscore the practical importance of embedding Islamic values into vocational curricula to produce graduates who are not only technically proficient but also ethically consistent and socially responsible within the construction industry.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the understanding of poultry traders in West Aceh regarding slaughter procedures in accordance with Islamic law (Sharia). The implementation methods include interactive educational workshops, socialization, and direct assistance to traders. The workshops discuss the importance of halal slaughter and Sharia-compliant business management, supported by expert speakers from the Department of Islamic Sharia. In addition to theoretical learning, traders are also involved in hands-on slaughtering practices to ensure proper implementation. Evaluation and monitoring are conducted to measure the traders' improved understanding, with a focus on the sustainability of the practices taught. This program has produced several important outcomes, such as increased trader knowledge, training certification, and additional facilities to support their businesses. The positive impact is felt not only by the traders but also by consumers who are more confident in the halal status of poultry products. Discussion sessions allow participants to share experiences and provide suggestions for further training, including the slaughtering of other animals such as goats and buffaloes. This program contributes to the improvement of Sharia-based business quality in West Aceh and strengthens consumer trust in products that meet halal standards. Support from various parties, including the government and the community, reinforces the success of this program.
