Abstract

Indonesian Museum was formed by European aristocrats who like to collect ancient objects during the Dutch colonialism, which is useful for preserving, fostering, and developing culture by tracing Indonesian culture. Starting from this, the Van Het Bataviaasch Genootschap Kunsten Wetenschappen Museum was founded on April 24, 1778 which was the first museum in the Indonesian Museum. Museum collections and cultural preservation objects must collaborate with other fields of science such as technology, geography, and history. The museum collection objects in Indonesia can be broadly divided into two types, namely general museums and special museums. The objective to be achieved in this research is to know the strategy of managing the Siginjei State Museum of Jambi Province as a tourist attraction in developing tourism in Jambi Province. The problem of Human Resources (HR) how to overcome it is by including the staff and employees of the Siginjei State Museum of Jambi Province in research and education about museums and foreign language courses. Based on the percentage obtained, 40.20% of respondents were in the number disagreeing with the total number of 725 who chose the category of disagreeing with some of the questions given, while 43.20% were in the number agreeing with the total number of 779 respondents. This percentage can be assumed that many visitors agreed with the management of the museum management and the condition of the Siginjei State Museum of Jambi Province itself.

Abstract

As a result of human work, painting is a cultural heritage that has important values. The state of the structure of the paintings which is composed by organic materials makes the painting very vulnerable to the environmental influences and other causes of damage. This research aims to find out about the characteristics of the painting, the types of damage, the factors that cause damage, and its conservation techniques both preventive and and curative to painting collection of Le Mayeur Museum.The results of this research are expected to provide benefits and development of science in the field of archeology about the study of cultural heritage conservation. This study uses qualitative analysis, technology analysis, and comparative analysis. Data collection technique used are direct observation technique, interviews, and library reserach studies. The theories applied are Aesthetic Theory and Conservation Theory.The results obtained namely the characteristic of Le Mayeur’s paintings are representative with women’s theme and surroundings life, the coloring technique using plaque technique with oil paint, watercolor, traditional paint, and pastels color. Generally, there are several types of damage to the painting collection of Le Mayeur Museum, such as physical or mechanic damage, biotic damage, and chemical damage. Those types of damage are caused by physical factors,chemistry factors, biotic factors, and human factors. The conservation techniques carried out at the Le Mayeur Museum include preventive conservation and curative conservation. The preventive actions are carried out with control of temperature, air humidity, intensity of ultraviolet light, and control of air containing salt due to sea water vapor. The curative actions taken are semi-chemist medicine and painting restoration.

Abstract

Buni site is one of the prehistoric relics in Bekasi Regency which has an important role for the development of history in the northern part of Java Island.There are several potential archeological remains at the Buni Site in the form of metal artifacts, stone axes, gold jewelery, beads, earthenware and conch shells. The existence of modern development around the Buni Site makes the Buni Site threatened its preservation. There are two modern developments flanking the Buni Site, which is a ship factory managed by PT. Tesco Indomaritim and PLTU (Steam Power Plant) managed by PT. Cikarang Listrikindo. This study aims to address the formulation of the problem the impact of modern development on the existence of the Buni Site and conservation efforts at the Buni Site. This study use the Archeology Resource Management theory. Data collection methods used were observation, literature study, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used ware qualitative and SWOT. There are two impacts given by modern development on the Buni Site. First, the damage and lost of the Buni site, the lost of the site area has made the Buni site narrow and lost the findings that have the potential to be left behind in the area of ??the ship factory and the power plant. Secondly, Muara Bakti Village, where Buni Site is located, is no longer known by the wider community as the Archaeological Site. Buni site is currently not used as a cultural heritage site, which can affect its preservation. Development of the Buni Site area as a tourist attraction, in the form of the Buni Cultural Museum can help preserve the Buni Site from damage.

Abstract

Puppet in Indonesia as a world masterpiece has been established by UNESCO on November 7, 2003 in Paris, as a cultural heritage whose conditions for values ??and cultural existence must be preserved. One type of puppets that have been determined is West Java puppet show made from wood. The objectives to be achieved in this study are, concerning the causes of damage and conservation methods that have been carried out by the Jakarta Old Town Puppet Museum in conservation efforts. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews, and literature study. Besides using several theories and data analysis in answering research problems, namely museum management theory and conservation theory, as well as using qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, material analysis, and physical environment analysis. Bandung Elung puppet show in the Jakarta Old Town Puppet Museum suffered some damage, namely broken joint joint threads, fading colors, fashions appearing, and the loss of the Elung Bandung puppet show. The damage is caused by environmental factors, micro-organisms, and human factors (dissociation). Conservation actions undertaken by the museum in the preservation of wayang golek, namely preventive conservation by cleaning, using silicagels, lighting, temperature and humidity in vitrin / storage media. Curative conservation is carried out by fumigation to kill the activity of micro-organisms in the collection. As for the conservation of restoration, it is done by painting, connecting, gluing and patching which is done by conservators and wayang golek craftsmen.

Abstract

Taman Sari Temple has been builded around in 1710, this temple has been designated as a cultural heritage in Klungkung regency. Taman Sari Temple of the kingdom of Klungkung, existing structures on the site he has the remains of a building of which the meru tumpang sebelas, meru tumpang sembilan and ancient statues. This study aims to determine the potential that can be exploited as a tourist attraction and what efforts need to be made in the utilization of the site as a tourist attraction. This study used a structural functional theory and this study used data collection techniques are observation, literature study and interviews. Data analysis techniques used, is a qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and SWOT analysis. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis in this study provides an overview of the potential that exists in the Taman Sari Temple, and efforts to use public perception needs to be done to make this site as a tourist attraction. There is potential for tangible and intangible form of two buildings meru, namely tumpang sebelas dan meru tumpang sembilan, ancient statues, pools and other support buildings and accompanied by the supporting factors around the site which has become a leading tourist attraction in Klungkung regency. Efforts should be made to make the temple as a tourist attraction, such a improving human resources, additional facilities, and infrastructure, dissemination of information, as well as structuring site conservation efforts.
