Abstract

Constipation is a symptom of a problematic, non-smooth and irregular defecation process. While laxative is a substance that stimulates intestinal peristalsis as a reflex of direct stimulation of the intestinal wall that can cause or facilitate defecation. This study aimed to determine the ethanol extract of the leaves of Gynura procumbens (L.) Merr. effect as a laxative in white male mice induced by loperamide. The methods used for laxative testing are defecation patterns and intestinal transit methods. The parameters observed included frequency of defecation, stool consistency, stool weight every 30 minutes for 4 hours, and the length of the activated carbon in the mice's intestine. The extract was administered orally at a dose of 75 mg/kg BW, 150 mg/kg BW and 300 mg/kg BW, as a comparison used negative control (Na CMC). From the results of the study, it was found that the administration of ethanol extracts of Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr. leaves at the dose of 150 mg/kg BW gave laxative activity to white male mice (P <0.05).

Abstract

The body's defense system can be enhanced by certain compounds that are immunostimulant. An antibody titer is a measure of the body's level of immunity to a disease. Titers are usually expressed in terms of the number of times they can thin the blood until they cannot find any more antibodies. This study aims to determine the activity of the extracts of the leaves of Gynura Procumbens (Lour.) Merr. against antibody titers, the number, and percentage of leukocyte cells of white male mice. 25 mice were divided into 5 groups consisting of negative control, positive control, group dose 75 mg/kg body weight, 150 mg/kg body weight, 300 mg/kg body weight. The extract is given for 7 days orally. The results showed that the administration of leaf extracts can increase antibody titers and increase with increasing doses, as well as increasing the total number of leukocytes and the percentage of leukocyte cells significantly (P <0.05).

Abstract

AbstractThis study looked at the teratogenous effects of ethanol extracts ofGynuraprocumbens (Lour.) Merr. on the white mice fetus. Experimental animalsconsisted of 24 mices, 4 male mices and 20 female mices, divided into 4groups, namely the negative control group, ethanol extracts ofGynuraprocumbens (Lour.) Merr. 150 mg/kgBW; 300 mg/kgBW; and 600mg/kgBW. Provision is made from the 6th day until the 15th day ofpregnancy. Laparactomy is carried out on the 18th day of pregnancy. Theparameters observed were body weight of mices, number of fetuses,average fetal weight, and macroscopic observation of the fetus. The resultsshowed that the parent's body weight, number of fetuses, and average fetalweight were significantly different (sig <0.05). Macroscopic observation ofthe fetus obtained slow growth in ethanolic extracts dose of 600 mg/kgBW.This study can be concluded that the ethanol extract ofGynuraprocumbens(Lour.) Merr.has a teratogeniceffect on the fetus of whitemice.

Abstract

Hypertension is closely related to vasodilation disorders because of the decreased availability of nitrogen monoxide (NO). The purpose of this study was to determine the decrease in blood pressure and nitrogen monoxide (NO) levels in rats after administration of Gynura procumbens leaves extract. The results showed that the administration of Gynura procumbens leaves extracts significantly reduced blood pressure and increased NO levels. From the results of Duncan's test, it was found that the dose of 300mg / Kg BW showed a better effect on increasing NO levels (p <0.05). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Gynura procumbens leaves has an antihypertensive activity that can reduce blood pressure and increase the NO level.

Abstract

Ikan patin merupakan salah satu ikan yang banyak dikembangkan karena tingginya permintaan baik dari pasar domestik maupun internasional. Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau merupakan salah satu sentra pengembangan ikan pastin di Indonesia. Kampung patin yang berada di Kabupaten Kampar adalah penghasil ikan patin terbesar di Sumetra. Pada tahun 2013, daerah ini telah mempunyai kolam ikan patin dengan luar 54 hektar dan menghasilkan ikan patin kurang lebih 10 ton perhari. Ikan patin diolah menjadi salai, bakso, nugget, abon, dan fillet ikan (Kemendag RI, 2013). Berkembangnya usaha mikro pengolahan ikan patin ini menilbulkan masalah baru yaitu usaha ini menghasilkan limbah dalam jumlah yang cukup besar, karena limbah atau hasil ikutan (side product) ikan patin hanya dibuang begitu saja. Dalam industri pengolahan ikan patin akan dihasilkan limbah yang cukup banyak yaitu sekitar 67% dari total ikan patin. Limbah tersebut dapat diolah dan dimanfaatkan menjadi tepung tulang ikan. Kalsium dan fosfor dari tulang ikan memiliki kualitas cukup bagus serta mudah diperoleh. Melalui program PPDM ini masalah limbah tulang ikan patin akan diminimalisir sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomis dari limbah yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan ikan patin. Dari kegiatan pemberian informasi tentang manfaat tulang ikan patin diperoleh hasil yang cukup baik. Terlihat dari terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan pada peserta kegiatan sebesar 86,06. Pada kegiatan ini tidak hanya diberikan pengetahuan kepada peserta, tetapi juga pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam membuat tepung tulang ikan patin. Dilakukan evaluasi dari keterampilan peserta dalam pembuatan tepung tulang ikan patin dimana diperoleh hasil rata-rata kemampuan peserta sebesar 95,2%. Dari kegiatan yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil rata-rata penilaian kepuasan peserta terhadap kegiatan sebesar 87,2%. Hasil diatas dapat menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat untuk dapat mengolah limbah hasil pengolahan ikan patin menjadi sesuatu yang berdaya guna dan bernilai ekonomis.

Abstract

Mekanisme pertahanan tubuh dapat ditingkatkan dengan senyawa tertentu yang bersifat imunostimulan. Imunostimulan secara umum didefenisikan sebagai senyawa yang dapat meningkatkan mekanisme pertahanan tubuh baik secara spesifik maupun non spesifik baik mekanisme pertahanan seluler maupun humoral. Titer antibodi adalah pengukuran tingkat kekebalan tubuh terhadap suatu penyakit yang beredar dalam darah. Titer biasanya dinyatakan dalam rasio, yang berapa kali bisa mencairkan darah sampai tidak bisa menemukan antibodi lagi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas dari ekstrak daun sambung nyawa (Gynura Procumbens (Lour.) Merr.) terhadap titer antibodi, jumlah dan persentase sel leukosit mencit putih jantan. Mencit sebanyak 25 ekor dibagi atas 5 kelompok yang terdiri dari kontrol negatif, kontrol positif, kelompok dosis 75 mg/kg BB, 150 mg/kg BB, 300 mg/kg BB. Ekstrak diberikan selama 7 hari secara oral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ekstrak daun sambung nyawa dapat meningkatkan titer antibodi dan semakin meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan dosis. Ekstrak daun sambung nyawa meningkatkan titer antibodi, jumlah total dan persentase sel leukosit secara signifikan (P<0,05).

Abstract

It's known that gelatin is a protein made from the skin and bones of animals, such as cows or pigs. The protein is a derivative of collagen type of protein found in skin, bones, and muscles. Meanwhile, the source of gelatin obtained from Patin bones, where Riau Province is one of Patin development center in Indonesia, make this easy to obtain Patin bones as a source of gelatin. Besides Patin, Kampar Regency also has the potential pineapple commodities. Pineapple production centers in Kampar Regency located in Tambang District, namely in Kualu 2 Nenas Village and Rimbo Panjang Village with an average production of 875 tons/hectare and 1.6 tons/hectare, respectively. This is what underlies the use of pineapple peel as a gelatin extractor from Patin's bones so that the gelatin obtained later is an organic gelatin extract that is healthy and environmentally friendly. Therefore, it is deemed necessary for a Patin processing center to know other benefits of Patin bones that make organic gelatin.

Abstract

Menurut Sirkesnas tahun 2016, prevalensi obesitas sebesar 20,7 % pada kategori penduduk usia ≥18 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan solusi untuk menurunkan prevalensi obesitas tersebut dengan penemuan suplemen yang bisa memberikan efek penurunan berat badan. Gelatin sendiri bisa menjadi bahan makanan yang rendah kalori yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menurunkan berat badan. Selain karena kalorinya yang rendah, bahan makanan yang satu ini juga membantu mengurangi nafsu makan serta memberikan efek kenyang lebih cepat. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan pembuatan ekstrak cair kulit nenas, ekstraksi gelatin dari tulang Patin menggunakan ekstark cair kulit nenas, administrasi gelatin dengan dosis 0,09; 0,18; 0,36 g/hari kepada kelompok tikus uji yang sebelumnya sudah diobesitaskan dengan pemberian PTU dan makanan lemak tinggi, serta pengumpulan data berat badan tikus. Dari penelitian diperoleh selisih rata-rata berat badan tikus sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pada kelompok kontrol positif, kontrol negatif, dan tiga variasi dosis berturut-turut 40,4; 29,6; 17,4; 23,2; 30,8; dan 31 g per hari. Selisih berat badan setelah dianalisis dengan anova oneway menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna (p>0,05), dengan kata lain pemberian eksrtak gelatin dari tulang patin tidak mempengaruhi penurunan berat badan secara signifikan.

Abstract

Changes that occur during pregnancy are normal events or processes. Not infrequently the mother has not been able to adapt to these changes so that the mother feels uncomfortable, if not addressed wisely it will have an impact on worry and anxiety that can interfere with the mother's daily activities. Prenatal yoga is one way to overcome or reduce these complaints, preparing pregnant women physically, mentally and spiritually to face the birth process. Teluk Kenidai Village is located in Kampar district where the people there are not familiar with prenatal yoga. After doing prenatal yoga, the majority of pregnant women feel that there has been a change in their complaints, such as reduced back/waist pain, cramps and reduced nausea, headaches and other complaints. Prenatal yoga can also be done by pregnant women while at home, even though not all yoga movements can be memorized, but by still doing some easy yoga movements to help pregnant women to overcome complaints during pregnancy.

Abstract

Knee joint pain in the elderly has hampered physical activity, mobilization and caused the elderly to be in a group with a high level of dependence on family. The purpose of this community service activity is to help the elderlyindealing with knee joint pain independently by doing ROM Exercise and warm red ginger compresses at home. The method used is providing health education and teaching the elderly to do ROM Exercise and Compress Red Ginger stew on the knees. The activity was carried out in 6 visits consisting of 1 visit in the Meeting Hall starting with providing education about osteoarthritis and how to deal with joint pain which was attended by 15 people consisting of 10 elderly people and 5 posyandu cadres. Furthermore, 4 home visits were made to 10 elderly who experienced knee join pain. The last visit was monitoring and evaluation of the implementation 1 time. The results showed that 100% of the elderly were able to do ROM independently. The average decrease in pain scale after being given warm red ginger compresses and ROM was 1,6. Suggestions are that cadres can remind theelderly to do regular and independent joint motion exercises so that the level ofdependence on the family can be reduced and the elderly are able to carry out their daily activities.
