Abstract

Illiteracy is one of the problems in education in Indonesia. The high illiteracy rate can be an obstacle in the world of education, resulting in a low Human Development Index. West Nusa Tenggara Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia with an illiteracy rate that is still above average with cases reaching 12.58% in 2018. The purpose of this research is to model and obtain factors that significantly affect the illiteracy rate in West Nusa Tenggara Province for the period 2016-2020. The method used in this research is panel data regression. The results obtained in this research show that the best model chosen to modelling the illiteracy rate in West Nusa Tenggara Province is the Fixed Time Effect Model panel data regression with R2 of 73.19%. The independent variables that have a significant effect are the number of poor people, gross regional domestic product (GRDP), primary school student-teacher ratio, and the percentage of households that use computers/laptops.

Abstract

Pneumonia is one of the infectious diseases resulting in significant mortality rates among children under the age of five in Indonesia. In 2020, East Java recorded the most significant incidence of pneumonia among children under the age of five, with a total of 76,929 cases. Modelling pneumonia cases might be employed to ascertain the factors affecting it. The pneumonia case data in Indonesia exhibits overdispersion, indicating that the appropriate model to utilize is Negative Binomial regression. This study employed the Geographically Weighted Negative Binomial Regression (GWNBR) model to analyze the distribution of pneumonia cases among children in Indonesia, which exhibited different characteristics and data variety. The modelling results indicated that using adaptive bisquare kernel weighting identified five different groups. These groups were determined based on the predictor variables that significantly affected the number of pneumonia cases among children under the age of five in Indonesia.

Abstract

The highest Tuberculosis cases were observed in West Java Province. One of the factors are suspected to be the cause is the relationship between neighboring regions. The spread of disease between these areas forms a distribution pattern such as clustered, dispersed, and random which can be detected by the VTMR, Moran's I, and LISA methods. The results of the study with data on Tuberculosis Rates in West Java Province in 2021 showed that with the VTMR method, the distribution pattern of this disease is clustered. Using the spatial autocorrelation such as Moran's I and LISA, it was found that the distribution pattern formed was random. In the LISA test, West Bandung Regency was obtained as a significant area of autocorrelation. While in terms of LISA map visualization, Tasikmalaya, Sukabumi, and West Bandung regencies have a significant effect on the occurrence of spatial patterns. There is a difference in the number of variables that have a significant effect on the calculation in hypothesis testing and GEODA visualization. This indicates that there are variations in spatial patterns between these variables, such as some variables that can form significant groups while others do not.

Abstract

The existence of public fuel filling stations (SPBU) is crucial in big cities so that vehicle mobility in the city can run smoothly. Denpasar City with an area of 127.78 km2 consisting of four sub-districts has 49 gas stations. Until now, the distribution pattern of gas stations in the city of Denpasar is not yet known. This study aims to determine the pattern of distribution of gas stations in Denpasar city. To obtain data, the distance between one gas stations and the nearest gas stations are measured using GPS. By using the nearest neighbor method, it is found that the distribution pattern of gas stations in Denpasar city are random. The random distribution pattern shows that all sub-districts in Denpasar city have gas stations but not evenly distributed. With this result, it is hoped that if anyone wants to build a gas station, it is advisable to build it in an area where there is no gas station close by

Abstract

The happiness index is a measure that reflects individual well-being, thus playing an important role in the development of a region. The level of happiness in Indonesia is still significantly lower compared to other ASEAN countries. In relation to efforts to improve the happiness index in Indonesia, this study applies the K-means method to cluster the 34 provinces of Indonesia based on the indicators of the happiness index for the year 2021. The data used is sourced from publications by the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics with seven happiness index indicators and employing the Minkowski distance. The clustering results of the 34 provinces using the K-means method obtained four clusters with a cluster accuracy value of 71 percent. Cluster 1 consists of seven provinces with a fairly high average of seven attributes, cluster 2 consists of seven provinces is a cluster with a low average level of internal and external satisfaction, cluster 3 consists of four provinces with a high average of seven attributes, and cluster 4 consists of 16 provinces is a cluster with provinces with a fairly high average level of external satisfaction, but a low level of internal satisfaction.

Abstract

The level of vulnerability to crime in Indonesia remains high, thus effective preventive measures and collaboration from various parties are necessary to create a safer and more orderly environment. According to the Central Statistics Agency in 2022 the number of crimes in Indonesia in 2022 experienced a significant increase from the previous year. Based on Criminal Statistics in 2022 the number of crimes for the police level during 2022 Java Island occupies the top place in the crime rate in Indonesia. Countermeasures related to crime can be done by knowing the areas prone to crime. This study uses analytical methods that can show spatial autocorrelation, including the Moran Index and Local indicators of spatial association (LISA). The results show that there is spatial autocorrelation with a clustered pattern for the crime rate on the island of Java and districts / cities in Java which are classified as crime-prone / hotspot areas, namely Bogor, Gresik, West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, Bekasi City, Depok City, Tanggerang City, South Tanggerang City, and Sidoarjo.
