Abstract

Unemployment is defined as people over the age of 15 who are looking for or do not have a job. The imbalance between the number of jobs and the number of labor force leads to the potential for spatial labor mobility between villages and cities. Therefore, data on the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Indonesia may have spatial effects. The spatial regression analysis method is a commonly used method to estimate the parameters of spatial econometrics models. However, this method is not good enough to estimate the model parameters when there are many spatial units. To overcome this problem, an alternative Bayesian method can be used. This study uses the Bayesian method approach to the Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) model applied to modeling the open unemployment rate in Indonesia in 2022. The data used is secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in 2022. The results that have been obtained show that the variable labor force participation rate is significant to the open unemployment rate in Indonesia with an acceptance rate of 0.55.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level, attribute, and stimulus most considered by respondents in choosing expedition services. The method used is conjoint analysis by applying the conjoint analysis full-profile method to design the stimulus. The attributes and levels used are delivery type (ECO, REG, express, and same day), payment methods (cash and online transfers), service promotions (cost discounts and goods pick-up), and service responsiveness (responses to damage or loss of goods and responses to late delivery). The results of research conducted on 150 respondents showed that delivery type is the most preferred attribute with a value of 0,324. The levels with the largest part-worth of each attribute are REG (0.335), online transfers (0.210), cost discounts (0.270), and response to damage or loss of goods (0.250). The most popular stimulus is expedition services with standard shipping (REG), online transfers, cost discounts, and responses to damage or loss of goods.

Abstract

Parents want the best education for their children. Before starting the academic year, parents focus on finding the most suitable schools for their children. This study aimed to examine the factors affecting parents’ decision-making when selecting schools. A sample of 150 parents whose children are incoming high school students in 2020/2021 is involved in this study and selected using a snowball sampling technique and confirmatory factor analysis. This study has shown that the quality of the teachers is the factor that parents consider the most in their decision-making process. It is followed by the tuition and fee costs, the school facilities, and the school achievements.

Abstract

Students’ academic performances is an important factor as it affects students’ chances of higher education and job opportunities. While cognitive factor (e.g., intelligence quotient) plays a major role in students’ performances in academic environment, it does not guarantee students’ academic achievement. Instead, researches shows that non-cognitive factor can affects student performance as well. Three non-cognitive factor that will be researched in this study are motivation, self-related beliefs, and engagement. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) as the method of choice to accommodate the study of the factors. 699 of students’ sample was taken from six public high school in Denpasar to conduct the research. SEM is used for its ability to analyze latent factors using measurement model and its ability to estimate multiple structural relation simultaneously. The model with a Goodness-of-fit (GFI) score of 0.981 confirms that Motivation does significantly directly affects student performances. Self-related beliefs and Engagement on the other hand significantly directly affects Motivation, hence the two constructs significantly indirectly affect student achievement.

Abstract

Program Education plays a vital role in improving human resources. But on the other hand, education costs are not cheap. For this reason, people need to prepare education funds from an early age. One way is to take part in an education insurance program. This is a business opportunity that a village-owned enterprise (BUMDes) can run by offering education insurance services to the public. This research aims to develop and use programming software to calculate education insurance premiums offered by BUMDes. The method used is The Equivalence Principle method. Based on the case study, the premium price calculated using software that has been developed is very competitive – below market price, depending on the interest rate and fees charged.
