Abstract

Abstract

There has been intense debate over whether local practices and social engagement effectively contribute to da’wah and participatory community development. Referring to the study of a Puspakarma manuscript from Lombok, coded Gallery-50B Ciputat, the paper sheds light on the local socio-religious values that form the collective memory of Muslim Sasak communities on the island. It further argues that these values offer potential for participatory socio-religious development. The broader context of Sasak culture, as evident in the nineteenth-century Puspakarma text, provides a wider umbrella for the interpretation of elements of the manuscript’s content and message. Data analysis employs Mead’s Symbolic Interactionalism using a person-in-environment model from the perspective of Islamic Community Development. The main findings of the study are that the collective memory of ethnic Sasak Muslims recognizes the supreme being, God, and cooperative social interactions as key to community harmony, just as respect for the ancestors and nature also ensures happiness. All of these views influence community well-being. Furthermore, the author’s analysis demonstrates that each of these components found in the Sasak environment shapes the growth and development of the individual and their worldviews. This research offers fresh insight into how local development may contribute to closing the gap between cross-cultural policy and practice in Lombok and elsewhere.

Abstract

. Brabe Village, which is located in Maroon District, Probolinggo Regency, faces environmental problems that affect public health, including high stunting rates. The aim of this research is to identify the main problems related to environmental management, especially waste and sanitation, and propose solutions through educational programs and "healthy home" competitions. Improper waste management and the behavior of people who continue to throw away waste carelessly are the main causes of environmental pollution which worsens health conditions. This researcher involves the community in competition activities to increase awareness about the importance of environmental cleanliness and waste management. This program has succeeded in increasing public awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness and that waste processing can reduce stunting rates and infectious diseases such as dengue fever. The results demonstrate the importance of increasing community awareness and involvement to create healthier environments and support children's future health.

Abstract

Coronavirus 19 is a deadly disease that can kill thousands of people worldwide. However, not many researchers know that NO content can kill the COVID-19 virus. This research method is study design used retrospective methods, prospective and a systematic review. Search for reference sources began on March 10th - June 1st, 2021, using several online databases: 1) Pubmed, 2) Science Direct, 3) Google Scholar. Keywords used in the search term: COVID-19, Novel Coronavirus, SARS-CoV, Nitric Oxide, Dark Chocolate, Macrophages and included in journals accredited. This study looked for a list of references from the study, including 103 studies taken through the search. There are 63 articles in cleaning, and eight articles are included in the discussion. This review shows that COVID-19 can be attenuated and killed by the NO content produced by macrophages and supplied with NO content modulated by dark chocolate. Modulating NO-rich foods such as dark chocolate can effectively kill COVID-19. NO can also cure several diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some respiratory infections.

Abstract

The use of ionizing radiation in radiology units is essential for disease diagnosis. However, the energy of this radiation is sufficient to ionize the atoms and molecules in the substance it moves through, potentially posing health risks. This study aimed to analyze the effect of an effective dose of X-ray radiation on malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, a marker of oxidative stress, in radiographers. With an observational design, this study was conducted cross-sectionally at hospitals X and Y from January to April 2023, involving 19 radiographers exposed to X-ray radiation. MDA levels were measured using the Thio Barbituric Acid Reactive Substances (TBARS) method, and data were analyzed using SPSS, including descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. The results showed that all respondents had abnormal MDA levels, but the effective dose of radiation did not significantly affect MDA levels (p > 0.05). In contrast, working hours showed a significant influence on MDA levels, where an increase in working hours correlated with an increase in MDA levels. Thus, although the radiation dose received is considered safe, there is evidence of significant oxidative stress in radiographers, which requires further attention regarding the management of radiation exposure in the work environment.Ionizing radiation sources are used by the radiology unit for diagnosing diseases. When radiation contacts an element with sufficient energy, the atoms and molecules can become ionized. The research aims to examine how effective X-ray radiation doses affect malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. The methodology of this research is observational because no intervention is used—just the observation of the variables. In recognition of the type of data and analysis, the study is quantitative. While during the study, data from the dependent variable is only collected once, it is cross-sectional in design. Nineteen radiographers who deal directly with X-ray radiation exposure participated in the study, which took place in hospitals X and Y between January 2023 and April 2023. Based on the data shown in Table 3, every respondent has blood levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) that are abnormal. MDA levels are not impacted by the radiation's effective dose. More details about MDA and its connections to radiation exposure and oxidative stress can be found in the search results. All respondents show abnormally high levels of MDA in their blood; working hours have an impact on MDA levels; and effective radiation doses do not affect MDA levels. All radiation doses received have been considered safe.

Abstract

Understanding the sick (meaning of illness) is an important part in the healing process. Conceiving the meaning of pain or any illness is the result of an interpretation process that generates the meaning of illness. Pain, which could be interpreted both positively and negatively by the patients, generally comes from knowledge and experience of interacting with illnesses, diseases, medicines and the environment. The meaning of pain in the health communication perspective is a form of intrapersonal communication related to health. The role of health intrapersonal communication is very important, especially for understanding the meaning of pain that turns an impact on a person's physical condition. The meaning of pain in the Islamic perspective could demonstrate that pain is interpreted as a test as well as a proof that Allah will always wish the kindness for all His creatures

Abstract

Ecology of da'wah is the integration of envi-ronmental aspects with Islamic values in da'wah. The citizen of Surabaya has an uncharted ecological potential. This study attempts to map the the elements of preaching ecology in Surabaya such as the potential of preachers, da'wah messages, proselytising methods, the proselytism object (mad'u) , media of proselytising, mosques, prayer rooms, and majelis taklim . By using qualitative-descriptive methods, the results of this study revealed that Muslim proselytisers have a very dominant role in empowering religiosity of society, however, the da'i-mad'u ratio is not adequate for the needs. Further, the da'wah message delivered by da'i seems did not meet a standardized da'wah curriculum. The majority of preachers also use one-way communication while preaching and only a small number of them provided a question-and-answer session. Mean-while, the ratio of the number of Muslims to religious facilities was 513: 1.
