Abstract

The Headmaster has a role and responsibility in the continuity of education within the school. In the world of education, there are always different times and curricula that are constantly evolving. A leader must also adapt to new learning systems and curricula. The Merdeka curriculum itself is a manifestation of the adaptation of the previous era. In this curriculum, educators are given the freedom to provide quality learning according to the needs and learning environment for students. The Merdeka curriculum itself is designed by the government to address learning crises and improve the quality of learning in all educational units. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data analysis techniques consisting of data collection, interviews, and drawing conclusions. This study aims to see how a leader carries out the responsibility in implementing the Merdeka curriculum and the challenges in implementing the Merdeka curriculum. With this research, the author hopes to understand the role of school leadership in implementing the Merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the problem of bullying because it is an alarming social phenomenon that spans various environments, from schools to cyberspace. It involves repeated aggressive and detrimental actions against individuals or groups, with the aim of harming, dictating, or intimidating. Bullying has a serious impact on the victim's physical and mental well-being, including anxiety, depression, and social isolation. To overcome this problem, education and awareness about bullying are important, while involving commitment and cooperation from all parties, including schools, parents, students and the community. With collective efforts, we can create a safer and more supportive environment, and reduce incidents of bullying in society. Combating bullying is also an important effort in creating a safe and supportive environment for all individuals. Bullying prevention strategies involve a comprehensive approach, including aspects of education, awareness and involvement of all stakeholders. In this case, it is important to define bullying, identify the signs, and involve schools, parents, students and the community in overcoming this problem.

Abstract

Desa Bejijong, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto merupakan salah satu desa yang memiliki potensi peternakan yang cukup besar. Namun, produktivitas ternak di desa tersebut masih belum optimal. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhinya adalah penggunaan pakan ternak yang kurang efisien. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ternak di Desa Bejijong melalui sosialisasi penggunaan alat pencacah rumput dan sosialisasi pencegahan penyakit mulut dan kuku (PMK). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini telah memberikan hasil yang positif. Para peternak di Desa Bejijong telah mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru tentang penggunaan alat pencacah rumput dan pencegahan PMK. Dengan menggunakan alat pencacah rumput, para peternak dapat menghemat waktu dan tenaga dalam menyiapkan pakan ternak. Selain itu, dengan mengetahui cara pencegahan PMK, para peternak dapat mencegah penyebaran penyakit tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, direkomendasikan agar pemerintah desa dan instansi terkait dapat memberikan bantuan alat pencacah rumput kepada para peternak di Desa Bejijong. Selain itu, direkomendasikan agar pemerintah desa dan instansi terkait dapat memberikan pelatihan dan sosialisasi pencegahan PMK secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstract: Stunting is a growth and developmental disorder in children caused by several factors, including poor nutrition, recurrent infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Children are considered stunted if their height-for-age is more than two standard deviations below the median of the Child Growth Standards. Despite efforts, stunting among children under five years old persists in Surabaya. Therefore, the Surabaya City Government, in collaboration with medical professionals, is actively working to treat and prevent stunting to achieve the goal of Zero Stunting in Surabaya. The role of the community is crucial in eradicating stunting among young children to foster a stunting-free golden generation in Surabaya. Purpose: The objective of this study is to describe the forms of community participation under Mayor Regulation No. 79 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction in Surabaya. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research method employs a survey methodology to collect data. This study gathers information from primary sources, obtained directly from the surveyed subjects, and secondary sources, which include existing data and literature relevant to the research topic. Findings: The research findings indicate that community participation in Surabaya is present and commendable, although it is not yet fully optimal. While several participation indicators show positive results, such as participation in labor, material contributions, social involvement, and skills, there is still a need for improvement in the participation of ideas, particularly in providing input or suggestions related to stunting reduction programs. Therefore, increased community engagement is necessary to achieve the goal of Surabaya Zero Stunting. Originality/value: This study has several distinctions in terms of focus, theme, and research location. It will examine community participation within the context of Surabaya Mayor Regulation No. 79 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction in Surabaya.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the implementation of policies to increase the participation of first-time voters through the KPU’s “Goes To School program in Surabaya. This study uses a qualitative approach with a research method based on Smith (1973) implementation theory, which consist of four stages of implementation as indicators: idealized policy, target groups, implementing organization, and environmental factor. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observations, and documents. The number of informants is six participants, including KPU Staff, BAWASLU Staff, LSM Staff, Media, Khadijah High School Students, and first-time voter participant. The result show that each indicator used in the implementation of the election participation policy through the “Goes To School program in Surabaya has shown improvement and has been quite succesful as an effort to reduce the number of non-voters. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi kebijakan peningkatan partisipasi pemilih pemula melalui program "Goes To School" KPU Kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian berdasarkan teori implementasi Smith (1973), yang terdiri dari empat tahap implementasi sebagai indikator: kebijakan yang diidealkan, kelompok sasaran, organisasi pelaksana, dan faktor lingkungan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumen. Jumlah informan sebanyak enam orang, yaitu Staf KPU, Staf BAWASLU, Staf LSM, Media, Siswa SMA Khadijah, dan peserta pemilih pemula. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap indikator yang digunakan dalam implementasi kebijakan partisipasi pemilu melalui program "Goes To School" di Kota Surabaya telah menunjukkan peningkatan dan cukup berhasil sebagai upaya untuk mengurangi angka golput.

Abstract

Penerapan Program CSR PLN dalam Pengembangan Literasi melalui Sekolah Sungai Gunung Anyar Literacy is an essential skill that students must master in the era of disruption to face the challenges of the 21st-century digital transformation. One of the key foundational skills is basic literacy, which includes science literacy, numeracy, reading and writing, financial literacy, digital literacy, as well as cultural and citizenship literacy. Education, as a process of character development for the nation, plays a significant role in the development of these skills, particularly in early childhood education that supports physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth in children. On the other hand, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) also plays an important role in enhancing community literacy, as demonstrated by PT PLN (Persero) through the establishment of the Sekolah Sungai in Gunung Anyar Tambak, Surabaya. This CSR program aims to raise environmental literacy awareness, particularly regarding river and mangrove ecosystems, while empowering the local community. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach to depict the impact of CSR PLN in literacy development through the Sekolah Sungai program, involving a lot of students and local residents. The results indicate that the program successfully raised environmental awareness, strengthened social relationships, and provided economic benefits through waste management and handicrafts. Overall, PT PLN's CSR has a positive impact on community empowerment, improved quality of life, and supports environmental sustainability around the Sekolah Sungai Gunung Anyar Tambak.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of bullying prevention policy instruments as an effort to create Child-Friendly Schools in Surabaya City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants in the study from the head of the Middle School student work team of the Surabaya City Education Office, the Head of the Women and Children Protection Division of the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Office and Population Control and Family Planning of Surabaya City, the violence prevention and response team at SMPN 61 Surabaya, the violence prevention and response team at SMP Islam Shafta Surabaya, the violence prevention and response team at SMP Wijaya Putra Surabaya. Analysis of the development of bullying prevention policy instruments as an effort to create Child-Friendly Schools in Surabaya City uses the Howlett and Ramesh theory with 3 instruments, namely: (1) mandatory instruments (2) voluntary instruments and (3) mixed instruments. According to the Regulation of the Minister of State for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2014 concerning Child-Friendly School Policies at SMPN 61 Surabaya, SMP Islam Shafta, and SMP Wijaya Putra, 6 indicators have been implemented in creating Child-Friendly Schools. But there is still something lacking. And of the 3 schools, the most complete in implementing Child-Friendly Schools is SMPN 61 Surabaya. So other schools also need to follow the example of SMPN 61 Surabaya.

Abstract

As a form of gender-responsive transformation, the Surabaya City Government participates in the development process by formulating gender mainstreaming policies. To accelerate gender mainstreaming in development in Surabaya City, concrete actions are needed from the Surabaya City Government in planning, formulation, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation of development policies, programs, and activities that are gender-responsive. The Surabaya City Government has issued regulations on gender mainstreaming as part of its efforts to establish a gender-responsive city through various programs that empower women. This situation has prompted research into how women are empowered through the issuance of Regulation Number 43 of 2020 on Gender Mainstreaming in the City of Surabaya. This was analyzed using Naila Kabeer's (1999) theory of women's empowerment, which encompasses three main dimensions: resources, agency, and achievements. The research findings indicate that women's empowerment through the policy of Regulation No. 43 of 2020 on Gender Mainstreaming in the City of Surabaya has been implemented through various programs and innovations, such as the Informal Women's School (SEKOPER) ‘Srikandi’, Women's Musrenbang, and the strengthening of Gender-Responsive Districts (KRG) and Women-Friendly and Child-Caring Neighborhoods (KRPPA). This study focuses solely on one program, namely the Informal Women's School (SEKOPER) ‘Srikandi’. This program serves as a learning platform for vulnerable women or single parents, aiming to strengthen the concept of motivation within the social environment. From a resource perspective, the Women's School Srikandi program has improved women's access to education and economic training. The agency dimension is reflected in increased women's participation in decision-making and policy-making. In terms of outcomes, there have been positive impacts, including increased income, self-confidence, and awareness of women's rights among program participants.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the policy of providing space for street vendors at the Dupak Rukun Flea market in Surabaya City. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted at the Dupak Rukun flea market in Surabaya City. Data sources were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects in this research are Satpol PP, PD Pasar Surya, Flea Market Office, Community. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of the policy of providing space for street vendors (PKL) at the Dupak Rukun Flea Market has led to order and justice, although not yet fully ideal due to limited facilities. The target group, the street vendors, showed a cooperative attitude and were willing to follow the relocation rules. Implementing organizations such as Satpol PP, PD Pasar Surya, and market managers work in a coordinated manner in the policy implementation process. Environmental factors, especially social support and public awareness of order, contributed to the success of this policy, although technical challenges still need to be overcome. Periodic evaluation of the policy, improved communication with street vendors, agency coordination, and continued environmental support are recommended.
