Abstract

The role of housewives (Mitra Pengcinta Alam Bahari/PAB) contributes to the production of organic waste from cooking activities in the kitchen. For example, organic waste from vegetable residues, fruit (such as fruit peels, hard vegetable stems and leaves) and food waste. The problems faced are: the unknown technique of making eco-enzyme products to reduce pollution of environmentally friendly organic waste. One of the organic waste management techniques is the use of eco-enzyme products. The purpose of the activity is to increase the production capacity of eco-enzyme to be able to reduce organic waste pollution and to increase the entrepreneurial spirit of PAB partners to produce eco-enzyme products. The methods used are lectures, discussions and the practice of making eco-enzymes involving 20 PAB members. The results of the activity showed that PAB members were very supportive and motivated, as many as 53.0% (Strongly Agree), 42.4.0% (Agree) and 4.50% (Neutral) were willing to practice environmentally friendly eco-enzyme product utilization techniques. The results of the economic analysis of the production of 5 bottles/day of eco-enzyme products (@ Rp. 30.000,-) will generate a profit of Rp. 2,958,720/month. This provides added value for people's income and efforts to manage organic waste.

Abstract

Sungai Kayu Ara Village, Siak Regency, Riau Province is a coastal village. The main livelihoods of the people in this village are farming, fishermen and breeders. Pellets and concentrate feed have been used by the community as fish and livestock feed. But the high price of this feed makes this business less profitable. Azolla microphylla as fish feed and livestock has been introduced in Indonesia. This community service activity aims to train coastal communities of A. microphylla cultivation techniques which will later be used as fish feed and other livestock. This activity was carried out with the following stages; 1) Location survey, group formation and coordination. 2) Get off to the field and prepare sites for training. 3) Training of growing substrate fermentation techniques A. microphylla. 3) Training to prepare A. microphylla growing containers. 4) Cultivation training of A. microphylla. 5) Harvesting and giving A. microphylla to livestock. 6) Monitoring and evaluating the results of the trainings. A group of cultivators of A. microphylla has been formed and training has also been carried out with the students of the 2018 UNRI LPPM KKN participants in this village. This group named "SUKARELA" stands for the Sungai Kayu Ara Pemelihara Azolla with 30 members. Initial monitoring results in the second, third and fourth weeks after training showed that these macrophytes can grow well. Some members have enlarged the maintenance container in the form of maintenance tanks.

Abstract

This research was conducted in March-April 2021 in the Coastal District of Sungai Apit, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in the land cover area of mangrove vegetation and mangrove vegetation index in Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this study is a survey method with the interpretation of Landsat image data recorded in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020. The results of the study obtained that mangrove forests with the highest area were in 2000 with an area of mangrove vegetation reaching 7990,586 ha and there was a decline with the lowest number in 2015 with a vegetation area of 486,43 ha and in 2020 the mangrove vegetation area of 497,511 ha. Overall as much as 79% of the mangrove forest area has been damaged and changed its function within a period of 20 years. The NDVI value in Sungai Apit District is moderate with a value of 0,3-0,5, the category of meeting with a value of 0,5-0,6, and the very dense category of 0,6-0,8

The results showed that the coastline of this regency had changed as much as 1036 Ha in average from the year of 1988 to 2020. It was due to coastal abrasion, wave actions, and reduction of mangrove forests; the coastline change reached 12.02 meters per year as the highest. The mangrove forest in the region of this regency plays important roles to the local life, the local economy, and the coastal waters; it was for fishermen, charcoal production, coastal tourism, and transportation as well.

Abstract

The activities of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) in 2022 are an alternative in the processing of saline tilapia. The activities given to PKK/household partners and members in Pangkalan Sesai Village were diversification of processed tilapia saline products (such as shredded and snack churros) and identification of shredded oil slicers. The objectives were to increase the diversification of processed saline tilapia products (such as shredded and snack churros) and introduce the capacity of shredded spinners for food safety. The benefits are introducing diversification techniques for processed saline tilapia products (such as shredded and snack churros) and the introduction of shredded oil slicers to improve science and technology and partner skills. The target audience involved numbered 20 people. The results of PKM activities showed that the partners welcomed well, were very enthusiastic in receiving the transfer of science and technology and the diversification skills of processed saline tilapia products (such as shredded and snack churros) and the introduction of shredded oil slicers. Mitra conveyed the perception of PKM activities, namely 11 people (55.5%) expressed Strong agreement, 8 people (38.5%) agreed and 1 person (6.0%) stated Neutral. Abstract

The Mentawai Islands are directly connected to the Indian Ocean and are located on the equator, making the Mentawai Islands region influenced by the characteristics of the sea surface temperature of the Indian Ocean. This location causes the area to have a hot and humid climate and high rainfall. This study aims to determine the distribution of sea surface temperature, average rainfall, and the relationship between sea surface temperature and rainfall in the Mentawai Islands for 10 years (2012-2021). The method used in this study is a survey method, namely direct observation at the research site. The results of this study indicate that the sea surface temperature in the study area in the wet month (October - March) ranges from 29.05 oC - 29.68 oC. The sea surface temperature in the dry months (April – September) ranges from 30.23 oC – 28.95 oC. The maximum rainfall in the Mentawai Islands Regency occurs in November with an average rainfall of 386 mm while the minimum rainfall occurs in June with an average rainfall of 127 mm. The results of the correlation analysis of sea surface temperature with rainfall in the wet month showed a positive correlation. While in the dry month there is a negative correlation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the description of the presence of macrozoobenthos which is thought to have been affected by coastal stockpiling which has recently been carried out around the Mandeh Tourism Area. This research was conducted in January - March 2022, the method used in this research is purposive sampling with sampling using the transect method. The results of this study indicate that the water quality of Nagari Mandeh is sufficient to support the life of macrozoobenthos, the macrozoobenthos found consist of 10 families, namely Arciidae, Cardiidae, Cerithiidae, Fasciolariidae, Neritidae, Potamididae, Psammobiidae, Tellinidae, Turbinidae, and Strombidae. The type of sediment in the waters of Nagari Mandeh consists of gravel sand, colloid, sandy silt, silty sand, and sandy gravel. The content of total organic matter (BOT) from sediments in the waters of Nagari Mandeh was found to be in the range of 8.08% - 15.25% (medium). Coastal reclamation activities do not have an impact on the presence and diversity of macrozoobenthos but have an impact on the types of individuals living around the reclamation area
