This research becomes important because humanistic education based on the principle of humanity and the interests of fellow human beings seek to answer the problems that exist in the world of education, especially those related to the development of learners' potential through warm interaction and harmonious communication. This research is a type of literature research with a qualitative approach. The data is obtained through sources in books and scientific articles related to the topic. This study shows that God equips humans with various potentials and characteristics to fulfill all the tasks and obligations carried out by humans. The potential and characteristics given to humans also distinguish them from other creatures. Abstract

The use of AI-based chatbots such as ChatGPT offers great potential to improve the learning experience, including for Arabic Language and Literature students. On the other hand, the use of ChatGPT can also lead to excessive dependence on technology, thereby ignoring other learning sources and even ignoring academic morals and ethics. Therefore, this research aims to explore the use of ChatGPT among Arabic language and literature students, with a focus on the opportunities and challenges faced. This type of research is field research using a qualitative approach. Researchers conducted in-depth interviews as a data collection technique. The data obtained was then analyzed through three stages, transcribing data, member checking, and coding. The research results show that Arabic language and literature students use ChatGPT more for their assignment needs, especially assignments related to papers writing. Apart from that, they also use ChatGPT to find out about Arabic literary theories and the writers with their biographies, generate creative ideas, translate texts, look for references and thesis themes, and even use ChatGPT as a discussion partner. But unfortunately, they have not maximized ChatGPT as a medium to strengthen their Arabic language skills. The ability to validate information obtained via ChatGPT is also a very important issue so that students obtain reliable and accountable knowledge.

Abstract

The pattern of learning in the 21st century is marked by the usage of various information and communication technology as the learning media and boundaries of space and time are increasingly fading. Therefore, teachers are demanded to constantly create and innovate to present exciting and fun learning, including Arabic language learning. One of the latest media teachers can use as Arabic language media that has not been widely studied is LingoHut. By applying library research, the researcher thoroughly examines Arabic language learning using LingoHut. The primary data in this research was gathered directly from the website and LingoHut application. At the same time, the other various library sources became secondary data sources. The research result indicates that LingoHut provides five kinds of game-based learning, e.g., flashcards, matching games, tic-tac-toe, concentration game, and listening game. The innovation of game-based Arabic language learning in LingoHut can indeed make students active in teaching-learning. Nevertheless, most learning types only focus on students' ability to remember and memorize. Additionally, the teachers also need to be attentive, noting weaknesses in LingoHut to prepare better and more interesting learning from the App. Ultimately, this research contributes to offering digital Arabic learning media options for teachers in the classroom as well as becoming an independent Arabic learning platform with a wide choice of learning topics.

Abstract

The beauty of verses within the Qur’an always invites admiration from anyone who recites and hears it. One of the Qur’an prominent beauty is its linguistic aspects, particularly harmonious sounds that make its reciters and listeners not want to stop. This research aims to reveal the phonological beauty of the Quranic sounding harmony, mainly in Surah Maryam. This study is library research using the Qur’an as primary data. At the same time, the secondary sources are articles in some journals, books, and other library resources. Data were collected using the documentation technique of data collection, then analyzed using coding and descriptive analysis. This research result indicates that the sound harmony within Surah Maryam is in the endings of the 97 verses out of 98. Only the first verse was not harmonious in sound because it contained Muqatha’ah Letters. In addition, sounding harmony in the Qur’an is not necessarily in the endings of each verse, but it could also be in the number of vowels and consonants in each rhyme. Moreover, the sound harmonies functioned as a mark for those not memorizing the Qur'an (reciter or listener) to recognize parts of Surah Maryam.

Abstract

Assessment played a crucial role in developing learning behaviors, with both positive and negative impacts. This study examined the washback effects of the Arabic language final examination conducted through the GeSchool application from Madrasah Sumbar Blended Learning. The research was carried out during the 2021/2022 academic year with 141 twelfth-grade students at MA Muhammadiyah Lakitan, West Sumatra, Indonesia, of which 92 participants were selected using Isaac and Michael's sampling technique. A survey design was employed, with data collected through a self-report questionnaire, participant observation, and documentation. The 25-item questionnaire covered seven domains, including exam preparation strategies, learning attitudes, and instructional materials, and used a 5-point Likert scale. The instrument was validated using Pearson Product Moment Correlation, yielding valid results, while reliability testing produced a Cronbach’s Alpha score of 1.05. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that the mean scores for exam preparation strategies, learning attitudes, and instructional materials were 3.72, 3.81, and 3.79, respectively, categorized as "very good." These findings demonstrated that the assessment generated predominantly positive effects on learning outcomes. This study contributes to understanding the washback effect by highlighting the potential of blended learning platforms, like GeSchool, to improve instructional quality and student engagement in a post-pandemic educational context or modern era.

Abstract

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in language learning is incredibly beneficial to language learners, language teachers, and educational institutions. However, the implementation of CEFR does not appear to be comprehensive, one of which is due to the weakness empirical research on CEFR and various other factors. Therefore, this research aims to provide a comprehensive information regarding the extent to which CEFR studies in Indonesia have been carried out and various challenges in implementing CEFR in Indonesia. This research is a systematic review with the object of study are articles published in scientific journals during 2011—2021. This systematic review found surprising results where from 2011-2015, there was not found a single study on CEFR in Indonesia. The peak of articles publication on CEFR in Indonesia occurred in 2020, with a total publication of 15 articles. Other findings show that English is the dominant target language in CEFR studies in Indonesia. The challenges and problems of implementing CEFR in Indonesia are generally divided into three, challenges and problems related to educational institutions, teachers and CEFR itself.
