Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the low yield of learning mathematics in class VIIA3 MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru, there are 7 of 25 students who achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria or 28% for linear equations and inequalities of one variable. The type of this research is classroom action research. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning process and improve communication skills by applying mathematical models of cooperative learning Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD). The subject of this research were the students in class VIIA3 MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru at the first semester of academic year 2014/2015. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and mathematical understanding tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed that there is the improvement of learning process after the action on the first and second cycles. The result showed that there is an increase the mathematical understanding of students with the score N-gain is 0,63 in the first cycle and 0,76 in the second cycle at medium classification. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of cooperative Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) to improve mathematical communication graders understanding of students in class VIIA3 MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru in the first semester of academic year 2014/2015.Key Word : Mathematical communication skills, cooperative learning Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD)

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is low of mathematics learning outcomes of class VII8 of 21 Junior High School Pekanbaru in first semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. Related to learning outcomes, one of the main factors affecting is the learning process. In line with it, the in order to improve student learning outcomes, it is necessary to improve the learning process. The type of this research is the Classroom Action Research that has purpose to improve the learning process and to increase student’s mathematic learning outcomes by applied the Problem Solving Strategy in Cooperative Learning. This research consists of two cycles that each cycle composed of 4 stages, such as planning, implementation, observation and reflection. At every end of a cycle, math achievement test will be held.The research instrument consists of learning devices that involve Syllabus, Lesson Planand Worksheet, and instrument data collector that involvethe observation sheet and math achievement test. The Observations collected through the observation sheet by narrative descriptive analysis and math achievement test by statistic descriptive analysis.The result of the research showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvementafter reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily test II. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic scor, daily test I and daily test II are respectively 12 person (27,27%), 23 person (52,27%) and 28 person (61,36%). Results of this research indicates that application of Problem Solving Strategy in Cooperative Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the studentsof class VII8 of 21 Junior High School Pekanbaru in first semester of the 2017/2018 academic year at the subject matter of equation and linear inequalitiesof one variable.Key Words: Problem Solving Strategy, Cooperative Learning, Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This classical research aims to improve learning process and to increase the mathematic learning evaluation by implying problem based learning model. Subjects of this research are VII B student at SMPS Cendana Pekanbaru of 2015/2016. Total number of participant are 21 whose academic achievement are heterogen. This research have 2 cycles, each have four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each cycles closed by daily exam. The data collected by observation and examination at daily based. The data analised by narative descriptive analysis and statistical descriptive analysis. The implementation succes if the improvement of the learning process and the number of students reach KKM increase at daily examination I and daily examination II. The research result from the observation form shows that teacher and student activity are good after the treatment implemented. More than half students actively participated in the learning process, as discuss, presented LAS, responded to presenter group, and gave the learning conclusion. The students also tried to solve the quiz from teacher in a great manner. The number of students whose achieved basic score of KKM,;daily examination I (first cycle), and daily examination II (second cycle) are 33.33%, 42.86% and 57.14%. This research shows that problem based learning model can improve learning process and increase mathematic learning evaluation for VII B Students at SMPS Cendana Pekanbaru.Key Words: Mathematic learning evaluation, Problem based learning, Classical research

Abstract

Abstract : This research was motivated by the result of learning mathematics of VII.3 students of SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru which is still under the KKM with percentage 52.00% on subject matter of algebraic forms. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve student learning achievement by applying cooperative learning model with structural NHT approach. This type of research is a classroom action research with two cycles. The subject of this research is the students of class VII.3 of SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru second semester of academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 25 students with heterogeneous academic level. The data was collected by doing observation of teachers and students activities and formative test. The results showed that there was a better improvement in the learning process from cycle I to cycle II. This is seen in students who have participated actively and work together in the learning process. In addition, the number of students who achieved KKM on the basic score, formative test I (first cycle), formative test II (second cycle) were 52.00%, 56.00%, and 72.00%, respectively. The percentage of achievement of this KKM also shows improvement from before action to after action so that it can be said that student learning achievement also increase. The results of this research indicate that cooperative learning model with structural NHT approach can improve the learning process and improve the learning achievement of mathematics students VII.3 SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru second semester of the academic year 2017/2018.Key Words: Math Learning Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model With Structural Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Approach.

Abstract

ABSTRAKThe research was done in MA YPKM Lubuk Jambi, in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013. The subjects were students of class XI IPS. There is a class of 15 students, consisting of 9 men and 6 women who have heterogeneous capabilities. The purpose of this research is to improve mathematics learning outcomes, especially in basic competencies using derivatives to determine the characteristics of a function and solve the problem, the basic competencies devised a mathematical model of the problems associated with extreme functionality and basic competency describes mathematical models of the problems associated with extreme functionality and interpretation through problem-solving strategies in tife STAD cooperative learning model.This study is a class action. There are two cycles and four stages, planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that an increase in student achievement. The first cycle shows that the percentage of students who receive a minimum completeness criteria of 20% to 26.7%. While in the second cycle, the percentage achievement of minimum completeness criteria increased from 26.7% to 86.7%, in other words, the implementation of the application of problem solving strategies in STAD cooperative learning model to improve learning outcomes of students in class XI maths IPS MA YPKM Lubuk Jambi , on the basis of competence using derivatives to determine the characteristics of a function and solve the problem, the basic competencies devised a mathematical model of the problems associated with extreme functionality and basic competency describes mathematical models of the problems associated with extreme functionality and interpretation. Keywords: STAD cooperative, problem-solving strategies, classroom action research

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying learning cycle 5E. The subjects of this research are the students of class  SMPN 25 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 which total number of participants are 35 students, consists of 20 male students and 15 female students with heterogeneous academic achievements. This research has two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that the number of students who reach with Minimal Score of Criteria is 75, increased from the basic score to the Quiz I, from Quiz I to Quiz II. In addition, the percentage of students who achieved KKM from basic score to quiz I increased by 14,29% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 25,71%. In conclusion, the implementation of discovery learning model can improve the learning process and increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students of grade  SMPN 25 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018  on rectangular and triangular materials.  Key Words : The outcomes of mathematics learning, Learning Cycle 5E, class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is conducted based on mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII3 students of state Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru which is still under KKM (Minimum Criteria of mastery learning) that has been settled by the school that is 75. This approach of this research is classroom action research with 2 cycles. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII3 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru consisting of 15 male students and 27 female students with heterogeneous ability. This research was conducted on 28 April 2016 until 23 May 2016. The data in this study were obtained from the observations of teacher and student activity and student outcomes by analyzing qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the data analysis of teacher and student activity after implementing a Think Talk Write strategy in cooperative learning, teacher and student activities are done well and experienced improvement at each meeting. Based on the data analysis of student learning outcomes, there is an increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle. Based on the analysis of KKM achievement, the number of students who reached KKM at UH 1 amounted to 35 people with percentage 83,3 % and UH 2 amounted to 39 people with percentage 90,48 %. Based on the analysis of frequency distribution, there is an increase in the number of students who get very high criteria and the decrease in the number of students who get enough and low criteria. From this study can be concluded that the implementation Think Talk Write strategy in cooperative learning approach can improve the learning process and also to remind students of mathematics learning outcomes of VIII3 students of state Junior High School 25 Telekomunikasi Pekanbaru even semester of academic year 2015/2016 at KD 5.2 Making cube nets, beams, prisms and pyramids and on KD 5.3 Calculate surface area and volume cubes, beams, prisms and pyramids.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Think Talk Write

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a developmental research which aims to produce computer based learning media of an interactive tutorial model in main value topic for 7th grade of SMP/MTs that is valid and practical. This developmental research used development model based on the teory of Borg and Gall modified by Sugiono (2011). The stages are: (1) potential and problem; (2) literature collection; (3) product design; (4) product validation; (5) product revision; (6) product tested; (7) product revision; (8) product tested in large group; (9) product revision. Product design is through two stages, that are making paper based design and then used microsoft office power point program. The research instrument used a validation sheet that was validated by three experts or validators and participant response questionnaires assessed by students. Assessment of validation data and questionnaire responses of students is done by adapting the formula from Anas Sudijono (2011). The results of the validation of three experts or validators obtained an average score of 3.31 (very valid). The product testing on 6 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pelalawan with an average score of 3.83 (very practical). Furthermore, a trial of use or trial of a large group on 22 students of class VII SMP PGRI Pelalawan with an average score of 3.46 (very practical). Thus, it can be concluded that computer based learning media is valid and practical.Key Words : Computer based Interactive Learning Media, Development, Main Value

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the limited of mathematics learning documents as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This study aimed to develop mathematics learning documents with problem based learning’s model on set  for 7th grade SMP/MTs. Learning instruments in this study are lesson plans, and student worksheet. This study method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the study was only to development step. Based on the data analysis, it can be conclude that mathematics learning documents is very valid with mean validity of lesson plans is 3,62, and mean validity of student worksheet is 3,53. This student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification with mean percentage of student responses is 96,67% on a small test group.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to develop mathematics learning device that are Lesson Plan (LP) and Students Worksheet (SW) and 2013 curriculum-based with discovery learning model on the equations and inequalities of linear one varible absolute value material. This development research uses 4D development model who developed by Thiagarajan and modified by Endang Mulyatiningsih. The development carried out by the stages: (1) define; (2) design; (3) development; and (4) dessemination that is not implemented due to time and cost limitations. Data collection instrumen in this study were LP and SW validation sheets and student response questionaires. Then, learning device that had been compiled are validated by three validators and revised according to validator’s suggestions. Then, learning device that had been validated are tested in two stages, namely small group trials with the subject of six students of class X.4 SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau and a large group trial with the subject of 20 class X.2 students of SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau. Based on the data analysis results and the discussion it can be concluded that the 2013 curriculum-based mathematics learning device with a discovery learning model on the equations and inequalities of linear one varible absolute value material was considered very valid with the rating average for lesson plans was 3.63 and the rating average for Students Worksheet is 3.62, and meets the practical requirements for use by the students of grade X SHS.Keywords: Mathematics Learning Device, Discovery Learning Models
