Abstract

Abstract: This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and increase the mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Learning Cycle 5E model. The subject of this research is students of class VIIC Ruqayyah SMP IT Abdurrab Pekanbaru on the second semester in the 2017/2018 academic years as many as 20 students, which all of whome are girls with heterogeneous levels of academic ability. The research consist of two cycles and each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments used are learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Student Worksheet) and instruments for collecting data (Observation Sheets and Mathematical Learning Outcomes Tests). The observation sheets were used to find out the data of students and teacher activity during learning process which would analyzed qualitatively. Mathematics learning outcomes test were used to collect the student’s mathematical learning outcomes which would analyzed quantitatively. The analysis result of observation sheets indicated the learning process in cycle I were better than learning process in before action and learning process in cycle II were better than learning process in cycle I. The analysis result of the student’s mathematics learning outcomes scores indicated the percentage of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) in base score is 40% increased to 70% in cycle I and 80% in cycle II. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the implementation of Learning Cycle 5E model can improve the learning process and the mathematical learning outcomes of students class VIIC Ruqayyah SMP IT Abdurrab Pekanbaru on the second semester in the 2017/2018.Key Words: Learning Cycle 5E Model, Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Classroom ActionResearch

Abstract

Abstract : This research aims to determine the differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught using Van hiele model learning aided Cabri 3D with mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught using conventional learning models. Forms of research is the study Quasi-Experimental with randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were all ninth grade students of MTsN Andalan Pekanbaru, while the sample is a class IX 8 as the experimental group and class IX6 as the control group. Based on the final data obtained homogeneity test two samples have the same variance. Obtained from t test tcount = 1,902 > ttable = 1,67. In other words, the learning outcomes of students who were taught using Van hiele model learning aided Cabri 3D is better than the learning outcomes of students who were taught using conventional learning models.Keywords : Van hiele model learning aided Cabri 3D, conventional learning models, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: Learning in schools must be well planned, one of which is to create learning tools that refer to the 2013 curriculum. This research produces learning tools (syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan, and Student Worksheets) using the inquiry model in the progression and series material. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the 4-D model. The research instrument was an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, RPP and LKPD and practical instruments in the form of a teacher's questionnaire response to the Syllabus, RPP and LKPD, a questionnaire for students' responses to LKPD, and an observation sheet on the implementation of learning.Validation data analysis results obtained an average value for the syllabus is 3.53 in the category of very valid which means that the syllabus is feasible to use; and the average value for the RPP is 3.61 and LKPD is 3.53 in the very valid category which means that the RPP and LKPD are worth testing. The results of practicality data analysis in small group trials were 3.61; Large group trials found that the teacher response questionnaire was 3.79; student response questionnaire was 3.62; and the implementation of the learning process is 3.76 in the very practical category which means that the Syllabus, RPP and LKPD are appropriate to be used in schools.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Tools, Inquiry Model, Development Research, 4-D Development Model

Abstract

This research was done due to the problem found by teachers’ difficulty in developing learning instruments based on the 2013 curriculum. In connection with this, efforts are needed to assist teachers in providing learning instruments that are in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. The learning instrument form of Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), and Student Worksheets (LKPD). This research aimed to develop mathematics learning instruments. Related to learning management on the 2013 curriculum, one of the recommended learning models is Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. On this basis, the researcher conducted the development of learning instruments by using PBL models on the material sequence and series of class XI SMA/MA by using the 4-D development model. This research instrument used was the Syllabus, RPP, and LKPD sheets to assess the validity of the learning instrument. The results of validation data analysis obtained an average value of the syllabus is 3,76 with a very valid category, RPP is 3,78 with a very valid category and LKPD is 3,75 with a very valid category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Syllabus, RPP, and LKPD developed are suitable to use for trials in the learning process.

Abstract

This research produces mathematics learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student worksheets (LKPD) based on the Problem Based Learning model of social arithmetic material for seventh-grade junior high school students. This study uses a 4-D development model which includes four stages, namely: (1) define (define); (2) design (planning); (3) develop (development); and (4) spread (spread). The research instrument used is the instrument of validity and practicality. The validity instrument is in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD. The practicum instrument is in the form of a student response questionnaire to use LKPD. The learning tools that have been compiled are then validated by three validators and revised according to suggestions from the validators. The valid learning tools were then tested in the readability test with four seventh grade junior high school students and a small group trial with nine junior high school class VII students as the subject. Based on the data analysis and discussion results, mathematics learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD based on Problem-Based Learning models on social arithmetic material are considered very valid and practical to be used by class VII junior high school students.

Abstract

This research produces a product in the form of a mathematics learning device using a Problem Based Learning model on Three Dimensional material to facilitate students' Higher Order Thinking Ability. Validity and practicality is the instrument of the research. 4-D is a model of development. The validity instrument is in the form of a validation sheet to assess the validity of the learning tools, namely the syllabus, RPP, and LAS. The practicum instrument is a student response questionnaire to assess the usefulness and ease of use of LAS. Three validators will validate it and revise it according to the validator's suggestions. Then a limited group trial was conducted with six students. The results of syllabus validation 3.79, RPP 3.73, and LAS 3.58 are very valid. While the result of LAS is 85.15%, it is said to be a very practical category. Based on these, it was concluded that this study produced a product in the form of a mathematical learning device based on the Problem Based Learning model on Three Dimensional material that was valid for syllabus, RPP, and LAS and practical for LAS.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low students mathematical communication skills. To overcome this problem is by improving the learning process that provides opportunities for students. One of them is by applying the 5E Learning Cycle model. The 5E Learning Cycle model is a series of activities so that students can master the competencies achieved in learning by taking an active role, directed to seek and discover new knowledge themselves. The research is to investigate the impact of the application of Learning Cycle 5E on mathematical communication skills in terms of overall, ability level and, interaction between learning model and ability level. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest post-test control design. The results of data analysis show that the mathematical communication skills of students who learn using the 5E learning cycle model are better than students with conventional learning. For students mathematical communication skills at the moderate level, the 5E learning cycle model is better, but not better for high and low levels. There is no interaction between the learning model and ability level of mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems (KPMM) and the teacher has not been optimal in developing mathematics learning tools independently. The purpose of this study was to produce mathematics learning tools through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to facilitate KPMM students of SMP Negeri 2 Pangkalan Lesung on number pattern material. This type of research is development research using the 4-D model. Learning tools developed in the form of syllabus, lesson plan (RPP) and student worksheets (LKPD) and KPMM questions. The instruments in this study were validation sheets and student questionnaires. Validation sheets consist of syllabus validation sheets, lesson plans validation sheets, and student worksheet validation sheets, while student questionnaires are in the form of student response sheets. Based on the results of the validation analysis, it shows that the device being developed is very valid. The result of the validation of the syllabus was 3.79; the average RPP score was 3.67; and the average LKPD score was 3.66. The student response questionnaire on the small-scale test showed an average percentage of 94.67% with the very practical category. The learning tools developed were valid and practical for use by students of SMPN 2 Pangkalan Lesung.

Abstract

The student learning activities do not support developing mathematical problem solving abilities. One of the factors is the learning tools used have not provided the opportunity for students to hone their mathematical problem solving skills. This study aims to produce a valid and practical semester VIII class SMP mathematics learning device for use by using the Problem Based Learning Model with a scientific approach to the SPLDV material. This type of research is a development research with the ADDIE development model which includes the following steps: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, (5) evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and student response questionnaires. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII MTS GUPPI Bandar Sungai. Data analysis techniques used qualitative and quantitative statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, information was obtained that the learning device met the valid and practical criteria. The results of the validity of the learning tools in the form of a syllabus with a percentage of 82.99%, RPP 85.75% and LKPD of 83.23% fulfilled the validity level, namely valid. The results of the practicality of the learning tools seen from the student response questionnaire were 92%, these results met the practicality level, which was very practical, while in terms of the teacher's observation sheet it fulfilled the practicality level of 87.78% fulfilling the very practical level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemahaman  matematis (KPM) siswa dan masih terbatasnya bahan ajar yang memfasilitasi kemampuan pemahaman matematis yang digunakan oleh siswa sebagai sarana penunjang pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar matematika berbantuan FlipHtml5 yang memenuhi syarat valid dan praktis untuk memfasilitasi KPM siswa kelas VIII SMP/MTs pada materi koordinat kartesius. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model Borg and Gall, yang terdiri dari sepuluh tahapan, namun pada  penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap ke-7 yaitu: (1) potensi dan masalah; (2) pengumpulan data; (3) desain  produk; (4) validasi desain; (5) revisi desain; (6) uji coba produk; dan (7) revisi produk. Intrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah lembar wawancara, lembar observasi, lembar validasi dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis validitas dan analisis praktikalitas. Bahan ajar divalidasi oleh tiga orang validator dan direvisi sesuai saran validator, serta diujicobakan kepada 6 orang siswa SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru untuk melihat kepraktisan bahan ajar. Hasil validasi bahan ajar 87,91% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji coba produk 90,16%, dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis untuk digunakan siswa kelas VIII SMP/MTs.
