Abstract

The application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in home security and comfort systems is constantly evolving. This research proposes the design and implementation of an IoT-based servo door lock system and home lighting control. The system is designed using the Wemos D1 microcontroller, a servo motor, an infrared sensor, a relay, and a light sensor. The results of this study indicate that the system can be effectively implemented and meets the design objectives. Based on tests conducted, users can access the door lock and control home lighting through a mobile or web application. The delay in executing commands from the application to the servo door lock system is approximately 38.93 seconds, while the delay to the relay system is about 34.83 seconds. Furthermore, the infrared and light sensors allow users to monitor the status of the door lock (open/closed) and lighting (on/off) via the application.

Abstract

Traffic congestion in areas with two closely situated traffic lights is a complex issue that is often difficult to resolve. To address this issue, a coordination of timing between the two traffic controllers is proposed. This research conducts an experiment with two traffic controllers at two nearby intersections. The vehicle flow at each intersection is managed by the Agent acting as the traffic controller. The agent where more vehicles arrive is designated as the master agent, while the other agent is designated as the slave agent. A coordination algorithm is developed to synchronize the timing of the traffic controller so that the timing at the slave Agent was adjusted according to vehicle platoon arrivals from the master Agent. By this method, the green phase of the slave agent can be synchronized with the master agent, allowing vehicle platoons arriving from the master agent to immediately receive a green phase at the slave agent. This coordinated traffic control can be implemented with a microcontroller-based system, and vehicle movement can be simulated using Matlab's SimEvents. From the experiment conducted for two intersections located 500 meters apart, this scheme can reduce the average vehicle wait time from 40 seconds to just 9.4 seconds.

Abstract

Two-phase flow is a phenomenon that often found in various devices and fields, one of which is in the geothermal system. Two-phase flow parameters that are important to study include flow patterns, pressure drop, and water holdup. This study used the CFD method to obtain data on flow patterns, pressure drop, and water holdup in steam-water flow in horizontal pipes. Validation studies were conducted to obtain appropriate settings. The superficial velocities of steam and water were varied from 6-30 m/s and 0.05-0.1 m/s respectively. The results showed that the CFD results were in accordance with the experiments. Visually, the observed flow patterns were stratified-wavy flow and mist flow. Furthermore, the pressure drop and water holdup values obtained increased along with the increase in the JW value.

Abstract

Exercise has become an essential necessity as its benefits in one's physical development have been widely recognized. In addition, regular exercise also makes a positive contribution to mental health by reducing stres levels. Aeromodelling is a type of educational exercise that can reduce stres. Even so, interest in the aerospace sport is still low due to a lack of understanding of its benefits. Through aeromodelling training, especially among students, participants are introduced to the basic concepts of flight. In addition to training creativity, these activities can improve participants' analytical skills, because they learn to design and test aircraft models to fly stable and long through thermodynamic calculations and other scientific approaches, so that physics education can also be absorbed in an applicative and fun way.

Abstract

Modern aircraft have experienced rapid development at this time, which is proven by the discovery of more complex systems on aircraft. One of the systems that has experienced rapid development is the autopilot, which can control the aircraft automatically. The design of the pitch attitude system begins by collecting data on the longitudinal motion of the aircraft, which is then converted into a mathematical equation of the transfer function for the pitch motion. After the pitch attitude instability is identified, a compensator is made to improve the stability of the pitch motion, with the compensator used in this study being the lead compensator. The main objective of this study is to create a system that can identify parameter values on the Luenberger Observer control and sliding mode control (SMC) in the flight control system. The results of several test experiments clearly show that the proposed SMC controller can produce better and more stable system performance.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of Bantul Regency Regional Regulation No. 4/2019 on the Control, Supervision of Alcoholic Beverages, and Prohibition of Oplosan Drinks in Kapanewon Pandak. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that despite a 23% decrease in alcohol poisoning cases, supervision is still limited by human resources, budget, and the absence of a clear technical Standard Operating Procedure. Inter-agency coordination is in place, but not yet optimal. Public participation in monitoring is also low, which is a major obstacle to effective policy implementation. This research contributes to the development of alcohol supervision policy, by suggesting increased supervisory capacity, updated regulations, and more active community involvement. Limited resources and budget are the main obstacles that need to be addressed to achieve optimal policy implementation in the future
