Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Keberadaan tari Garigiak di Jorong Balai Sabuah Nagari Batipuah Ateh Kecamatan Batipuah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitiankualitatif bersifat deskriptif analisis. Teori dan pendapat yang digunakan untuk menelaah penelitian ini adalah teori fungsi menurut Soedarsono dan bentuk menurut Y. Sumandiyo Hadi, serta beberapa pendapat para ahli yang dijadikan sebagai landasan dalam penulisan. Tari Garigiak merupakan tari tradisional Nagari Batipuah Ateh yang geraknya terinspirasi dari gerak silek yaitu silek Parian. Tarian ini bisa tampil diluar lingkungan gaduang ketika mendapat izin dari Tuan Gadang Batipuah selaku niniak mamak dan orang yang dihormati di Nagari Batipuah.This research discusses about The Existence of Garigiak Dance in Balai Sabuah Corner, Batipuah Ateh Village, Batipuah Sub-district. Research method used is qualitative method that has descriptive analysis characteristic. Theory and opinion used to analyze this research is theory of form according to Soedarsono, theory of function according to Y. Sumandiyo Hadi, and several experts’ opinion used as theoretical framework in this writing. Garigiak dance is traditional dance of Batipuah Ateh Village that its movements are inspired from silek movement namely silek parian movement. This dance can be performed in the outside of gaduang environment when it receives permission from Tuan Gadang Batipuah as the respected Niniak Mamak (tribal leaders) in Batipuh area.

Abstract

AbstrakTari Garigiak adalah satu bentuk seni pertunjukan tradisi di Istano Tuan Gadang Batipuah Kabupaten Tanah Datar, yang gerak tarinya bersumber kepada gerakan Silek Parian. Silek Parian merupakan seni beladiri  yang berkembang di Nagari Baipuah Ateh yang di akuui oleh masyarakat keberadaan tari tersebut. Oleh karenanya tari Garigiak diakui pula sebagai produk budaya asli Kecamatan Batipuah, yang memiliki makna khusus dalam kehidupan masyarakat pendukungnya. Tari Garigiak, memiliki gaya gerak yang tidak jauh berbeda dari Silek Parian itu sendiri. Karena bila gaya Silek Parian masih memperlihatkan gaya beladiri yang berbentuk fisik maupun penyaluran tenaganya seperti pertarungan, namun dalam tarian ditampilkan terlihat lebih indah karena sudah mengalami proses stilisasi. Dengan demikian kesenian tradisional tari Garigiak dapat dikatakan sebagai hasil dari proses kreativitas, berupa produk baru yang diciptakan oleh keturunan Tuan Gadang Batipuah. Meskipun secara teks  merupakan adaptasi dari Silek Parian. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat faktor penyebab terjadinya transformasi dalam Silek Parian menjadi tari Garigiak di Kecamatan Batipuah.  Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan mengamati kesenian tradisional khususnya tari tari Garigiak, dokumentasi audio dan visual serta wawancara dengan sejumlah tokoh adat dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini dianalisis dengan teori bentuk, teori fungsi dan teori kreativitas. Secara umum, penelitian ini memperoleh hasil berupa sejauh mana kreativitas dan perwujudan gerak Silek Parian dalam kesenian tradisional masyarakat di Nagari Batipuah ateh yang terfokus pada tari Garigiak.Kata Kunci: Silek Parian, tari Garigiak, masyarakat.AbstractGarigiak dance is a form of traditional performing arts at Istano Tuan Gadang Batipuah Tanah Datar District, whose dance moves are sourced from the Silek Parian movement. Silek Parian is a martial art that developed in Nagari Baipuah Ateh which was acknowledged by the community where the dance was. Therefore Garigiak dance is also recognized as a genuine cultural product of the Batipuah District, which has special meaning in the lives of its supporting communities. Garigiak dance, has a style of motion that is not much different from the Silek Parian itself. Because if the style of Silek Parian still shows a self-defense style in the form of physical as well as channeling its energy like a fight, in the dance it appears to look more beautiful because it has undergone a stylization process. Thus the traditional arts of Garigiak dance can be said to be the result of the process of creativity, in the form of new products created by the descendants of Tuan Gadang Batipuah. Although text is an adaptation of Silek Parian. The purpose of this study was to look at the causes of the transformation in the Silek Parian into the Garigiak dance in Batipuah District. The method used is a qualitative method, data collection is done through observation and observing traditional arts, especially Garigiak dance, audio and visual documentation and interviews with a number of traditional leaders and the community. This research was analyzed by form theory, function theory and creativity theory. In general, this research obtained results in the form of the extent of the creativity and manifestation of the movement of Silek Parian in the traditional arts of the people in Nagari Batipuah ateh which focused on the Garigiak dance.  Keywords: Silek Parian, Garigiak dance, society.

Abstract

Pencak silat martial arts have their own style and characteristics, both in attack and defense. The very rapid development of culture and technology has an impact on the development of silat in the archipelago. One oBeladiri pencak silat memiliki gaya dan ciri khas masing-masing baik dalam penyerangan serta pertahanan. Perkembangan yang sangat begitu pesat terhadap budaya dan teknologi memiliki dampak terhadap perkembangan silat di nusantara. Salah satunya berkurangnya minat generasi muda terhadap perkembangan seni budaya silat yang membuat terjadi pergeseran serta semakin tergerusnya budaya seiring berjalannya waktu. Kekayaan lokal dalam berbagai aliran silek (silat) di Minangkabau yang dimiliki oleh ketiga Luhak (daerah) yaitu, Luhak nan tuo/Tanah Datar, Luhak Agam ( daerah agam) dan Luhak 50 koto ( daerah 50 Kota). Fenomena perkembangan silek tradisi sangat miris untuk kondisi sekarang dengan berkurangnya minat generasi muda, akan tetapi pada daerah nagari Batu Taba Kabupaten Tanah Datar memiliki antusias yang cukup baik dan diterima oleh kalangan masyarakat sekitarnya. Sasaran Junguik Sati ini memiliki peran dalam pembentukan karakter generasi muda pada saat sekarang ini dengan memiliki ragam dan pola Langkah Ampek. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelestarian langkah ampek dan bentuk metode pembentukan karakter generasi muda nagari Batu Taba Kabupaten Tanah Datar terhadap perkembangan silek saat ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Abstract

This research aims to understand the preservation of the "langkah ampek" tradition and the method of character formation among the younger generation in the Batu Taba Nagari, Tanah Datar District, and its impact on the development of silek (a traditional martial art) today. The research method used in this study is qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach, where all the data collected in the field are compiled, described, and analyzed according to the discussed issues. The cultural theory by Jacobus Ranjabar is employed to analyze this research. In line with the research object, the results reveal that pencak silat (martial arts) has its own unique style and characteristics in both offensive and defensive techniques. The rapid development of culture and technology has had an impact on the development of silat in the archipelago, leading to a decline in the interest of the younger generation in the development of this cultural art form, resulting in a gradual erosion of the culture over time. The local richness of various silat styles in Minangkabau, which are owned by the three regions (Luhak), namely Luhak nan Tuo/Tanah Datar, Luhak Agam, and Luhak 50 Koto, is one of the cultural treasures. The phenomenon of the development of traditional silek is concerning due to the decreasing interest of the younger generation. However, in the Batu Taba Nagari, Tanah Datar District, there is a considerable enthusiasm for silek, which is well-received by the local community. The target of Junguik Sati plays a role in shaping the character of the younger generation through the Langkah Ampek pattern.

Abstract

Tanduak dance is a traditional performing art form that is performed within the royal court, and without this dance, guests are not allowed to enter the kingdom. Over time, the dance has also been performed in community events, under the supervision of the village head. The existence of Tanduak dance is recognized by the local community as the identity of the village and a genuine cultural product of Nagari Lubuak Tarok, carrying special meanings in the lives of its supporting community. These meanings include the four colors of fabric used in the Tanduak props and the twenty-two mirrors, all of which hold significance in the dance. The aim of this research is to explore and understand the meanings embedded in Tanduak dance in Nagari Lubuak Tarok. The research method used is qualitative, collecting data through observation and studying traditional arts, particularly Tanduak dance and its environment, audio and visual documentation, and interviews with artists and the community. This research is analyzed using semiotic theory. In general, this study found the extent to which artists foster solidarity through the use of universal symbols in their artistic activities.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the technique and philosophy behind Step Ampek Sasaran Junguik Sati in the context of Minangkabau culture. Langkah Ampek is a traditional movement in Minangkabau martial arts that has been passed down from generation to generation. This research uses a qualitative approach by collecting data through direct observation, interviews with skilled practitioners, and analysis of related cultural texts. The results showed that Langkah Ampek is not only a series of physical movements, but also reflects philosophical values in Minangkabau culture. The philosophy includes spiritual, moral, and social aspects, which are reflected in each step of the movement. The techniques used in the Langkah Ampek Sasaran Junguik Sati are closely related to natural conditions, daily life, and the history of Minangkabau culture. This research also identified that Sasaran Junguik Sati plays an important role in maintaining Minangkabau cultural identity and strengthening the sense of solidarity among community members. The practical implication of this research is the importance of maintaining and developing traditional cultural heritage as an integral part of cultural sustainability and community development in Minangkabau.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji upaya Sanggar Tari Silodang Production dalam meningkatkan minat berkesenian generasi muda di Kota Padang. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi untuk menganalisis strategi sanggar dalam menarik minat generasi muda terhadap kesenian tradisional di tengah tantangan globalisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kreativitas sebagai dasar untuk menilai strategi inovatif dalam pelestarian kesenian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sanggar Silodang Production menerapkan berbagai strategi kreatif, seperti penggabungan unsur modern dalam tari, penyelenggaraan kelas multitalenta (tari, makeup, dan public speaking), serta pemanfaatan media sosial untuk promosi. Namun, sanggar menghadapi tantangan seperti keterbatasan fasilitas latihan, dana operasional, dan konsistensi partisipasi anggota. Dampak positif sanggar terlihat dari peningkatan minat generasi muda, pembentukan karakter, serta kontribusi terhadap pelestarian budaya. Dukungan masyarakat dan pemerintah juga menjadi faktor pendorong keberhasilan sanggar. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan kolaborasi dengan pihak terkait dan peningkatan fasilitas untuk memastikan keberlanjutan program.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the Piriang Pandai Sikek Dance in Pandai Sikek Village, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis. All data obtained, both written and field data, are described and then analyzed according to the proposed research problem. The theory used is the textual theory (form, technique, and style) proposed by Y. Sumandiyo Hadi, and the preservation theory proposed by Edi Sedyawati. The results indicate that the Piriang Pandai Sikek Dance is a traditional dance depicting the routines of animals and the farming habits of the Pandai Sikek community. This dance is a typical Pandai Sikek dance that can only be performed by the native Pandai Sikek community. To ensure this dance is not lost, preservation efforts are being carried out by providing training to the younger generation in Pandai Sikek Village.

Abstract

Beghaes Studio, North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of descriptive qualitative methods is to analyze situations or events as they exist, through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study utilizes the presentation form theory proposed by Y. Sumandio Hadi. The results indicate that the presentation form of the Piring Gelas dance is an innovation, based on the Piring Gelas dance, which was once a traditional dance and then transformed into a presentation form. In the Piring Gelas dance, each movement element not only functions aesthetically but also contains symbolic meaning related to the cultural values of the community.
