Abstract

Community service in the form of implementing a system for checking and repairing cracks in walls in Pakintelan Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City aims to increase residents' knowledge regarding the problem of cracks in walls which are thought to be caused by ground movement. This activity starts from a site survey, equipment preparation, and training carried out with the correct procedures, ensuring the implementation of correct repair methods and according to standards. Based on the results of surveys and interviews with local residents, the cracks in the walls of houses that occurred at the Citra Pesona Pakintelan Housing Complex were caused by ground movements which caused non-uniform structural settlement and vibrations resulting from housing construction behind the service location. The service team and students provide guidance and assistance to stone masons and the surrounding community. There were 6 masons who took part in the training and several members of the local community. The repair method used to repair cracked walls is the stitching method.

Abstract

The main problems with soft soils are high moisture content, low soil mineral content, and high compressibility. The use of bacteria from organic materials to form lime compounds as adhesives in soft clay stabilisation has not been done. So this research is intended to improve the soil by stabilising soft clay soil with bacteria in organic materials.The method used in this research is experimental method. Variations of soybean powder mixture (organic material) used were 5 g/L, 10 g/L, 20 g/L, 30 g/L, and 40 g/L with reagent concentration of 1 mol/L. Furthermore, CBR (California Bearing Ratio) test specimens and Unconfine compressive test (UCS) specimens were made to determine the effect of the addition of lime compounds on soil strength. The concentration of 30 g/L produces optimum lime deposits. This is in line with the results of SEM and XRD tests. The UCS test showed that the soil cemented with lime produced the optimum shear strength at 14 days of curing, with a free press of 86.39 kPa. While for a period of more than 14 days the increase in the value of free compressive strength is relatively very small.

Abstract

Pemilihan suatu metode sangat penting dalam pelaksanaan suatu proyek konstruksi karena metode pelaksanaan yang tepat dapat memberikan hasil yang maksimal terutama jika ditinjau dari segi biaya maupun waktu. Salah satu usaha yang dilakukan oleh pengelola proyek adalah mengganti cara”“cara konvensional menjadi lebih modern, yaitu dengan cara penerapan metode diluar lokasi (Offsite Cosntruction).Fenomena metode konstruksi di luar lokasi ini sudah berjalan dengan sangat baik di Indonesia seperti negara ”“ negara berkembang lainnya sehingga analisis tersebut telah menghasilkan teori metode pelaksanaan konstruksi yang paling banyak digunakan dan yang paling efektif digunakan dalam proyek konstruksi.Alasan bahwa metode konstruksi di Luar lokasi telah banyak digunakan di Indonesia adalah karena metode ini lebih efisien dalam pelaksanaan dan waktu pekerjaan yang lebih singkat serta mengurangi permasalahan jangka panjang. Namun beberapa pekerjaan masih dikerjakan dengan metode konstruksi tradisional mengingat lokasi pekerjaan yang sulit diakses oleh armada yang besar. Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan adalah metode konstruksi diluar lokasi ini harus tetap mengutamakan aspek mutu, memastikan bahwa lokasi pekerjaan dapat diakses oleh mesin erector serta jalur yang ditempuh tidak rawan macet.

Abstract

Kawasan industri merupakan area di mana berbagai jenis industri beroperasi seperti manufaktur, produksi, perakitan, dan pengolahan. Salah satu kawasan industri di Indonesia adalah Kawasan Industri Wijayakusuma (KIW). Sebagai pengembang dan pengelola kawasan, pemanfaatan lahan yang dimiliki KIW selalu ditingkatkan guna memenuhi pelayanan terhadap tenant seperti pembangunan pabrik/gudang BPSP XI ini KIW melakukan inovasi yaitu dengan menggunakan Steel Fiber (Dramix) sebagai pengganti besi tulangan atau wiremesh pada pengecoran pelat lantai dasar, hal ini dilakukan untuk menekan cost, namun tetap mengutamakan mutu yang berkualitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode trial and error dan juga observasi yang dilakukan di laboratorium dengan mengacu pada SNI 03- 2834-2000. Sampel beton menggunakan balok dengan dimensi 15x15x60 cm dan kubus 15x15x15 cm. Komposisi campuran beton dramix dilakukan dengan trial untuk mendapatkan prosentase dari total agregat kasar yang optimum dengan kuat tekan rencana K-175 dengan perbandingan FAS 0,46. Hasil trial dalam penelitian ini menghasilkan persentase 17,29 % lebih besar kuat tekan beton dramix yaitu 241,90 Kg/cm2 dibandingkan dengan kuat tekan beton normal yaitu 212,87 Kg/cm2 di umur 28 hari. Biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk membuat beton dramix ini lebih murah Rp 197.816 per m3 dibandingkan dengan beton bertulang dengan rancang campur kuat tekan yang sama. Penggunaan steel fiber (dramix) pada pengecoran pelat lantai dasar merupakan inovasi yang tepat, karena memiliki kuat tekan yang tinggi dan harga terjangkau.

Abstract

Assessment using the International Roughness Index (IRI) is an important indicator in evaluating the quality of road surfaces, which affects the comfort and safety of users. This study aims to map road conditions in Tembalang District, Semarang City, using the IRI value as a reference for determining maintenance budget needs. IRI data was collected using the RoadLabPro application on a smartphone installed in a four-wheeled vehicle, with measurements taken on various roads in Tembalang District to obtain a representation of overall road conditions. The collected data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to classify road conditions into categories of Good (IRI ≤ 4.0), Moderate (4.1 ≤ IRI ≤ 8.0), Lightly Damaged (8.1 ≤ IRI ≤ 12), and Severely Damaged (IRI ≥ 12). The analysis results show that 80.65% of the road sections are in good condition, with an average IRI of 2.98 m/km, while the other 19.35% are in moderate condition with an average IRI of 4.32 m/km. Mapping data using QGIS facilitates the identification of areas that require further maintenance. The results of this study are expected to support more appropriate decision-making regarding road maintenance planning and budgeting in Tembalang District.

Abstract

The quality of education is not only determined by the curriculum and teaching methods, but is also influenced by the physical condition of the learning environment, including the comfort and safety of the classroom. MI Hudalil Muttaqien Kedungpanas is one of the elementary schools that deals with problems with physical facilities, especially damaged ceramic floors in several classrooms. This damage has an impact on disrupting the teaching and learning process, and has the potential to pose a safety risk to students and teachers. This community service program aims to improve the quality of learning facilities by repairing damaged ceramic floors. The method of implementing the activity includes a survey of initial conditions, preparation of technical plans, Procurement of materials, to the repair process which is carried out in stages in accordance with civil engineering principles. The results of the community service that have been carried out show that floor repairs have succeeded in creating a more comfortable, safe, and suitable classroom environment for learning activities. In addition to improving aesthetics and safety, these repairs also have a positive impact on student learning motivation. This community service activity confirms that adequate physical facilities are an important factor in creating a quality educational environment and supporting an optimal learning process.

Abstract

This activity starts from a site survey, preparation of tools and materials, training on the correct procedures, ensuring the implementation of correct repair methods and according to standards. Based on the results of surveys and interviews with local residents, the cracks in the walls of RW 2 Hall, Ngadirgo Village, Mijen District were caused by ground movement activities, resulting in non-uniform settlement of the building structure. Abstract

The problem of soft clay soil is currently one of the most worrying soil problems due to the increasing use of soft soil areas for construction needs. The main problem with soft clay soil is its nature which easily absorbs water but is difficult to release the water. The large amount of soft soil in the coastal area of Semarang City implies that in the construction process in the area, it is necessary to consider consolidation reduction. Soft clay soil takes a long time to reach 90% consolidation. This is because the permeability of soft clay soil is very small so that the process of dissipating water out is quite long. This dissipation process can be accelerated using engineering techniques, one of which is preloading. This process will further accelerate the consolidation process. This study was conducted to obtain the optimization of the embankment area against land subsidence on the coast of Semarang City using the numerical analysis method. Abstract

Improperly managed road conditions have led to increased maintenance costs and a decline in transportation service quality in Semarang City. Inefficiencies in road maintenance budget managementee often occur due to limited data availability and the lack of an integrated system. This study aims to implement a database system for managing road maintenance budgets using the Provincial Kabupaten Road Management System (PKRMS) developed with Microsoft Access. The research methodology involves the collection of primary data through field surveys and road condition inventories, as well as secondary data obtained from relevant government agencies. The collected data were processed within the PKRMS framework to generate cost estimates for maintenance activities categorized as routine maintenance, periodic maintenance, rehabilitation, and road widening. The analysis results show that road segments with severe damage require the highest budget allocation, particularly for rehabilitation work, whereas roads in good condition only require routine maintenance with relatively lower costs. The implementation of this database system has proven effective in improving efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the planning and decision-making process for road maintenance budget allocation in Semarang City.
