Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effectiveness of Using Snack Food Packaging Media on Beginning Reading Ability of Class I UPT SD Negeri 13 Bangkala Barat in 2023. This type of research is a pre-experimental design study, One-Group PreTest PostTest Design. The sampling technique used is the total sampling technique, by making the population as a sample, namely 20 students. Data collection techniques in this study used tests and observations. The data analysis used is descriptive data analysis and inferential data analysis. The results of inferential statistical analysis using the t test formula, it is known that the calculated t value obtained is 3.04 with a frequency of dk = 20 –1 = 19, at a significance level of 0.05 obtained t table = 1.729. So, t count > t table or the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This means that the use of snack food packaging media is effective on the initial reading ability of Class I UPT SD Negeri 13 Bangkala Barat students.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of play activities that stimulate children's fine motor skills at TK Almubarak Tonrorita Kec.Biringbulu, Gowa Regency. This study aims to improve fine motor skills in early childhood through paper folding activities. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles where each meeting is held three times. The research procedure includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were group A children of TK Almubarak Tonrorita, Biringbulu District with a total of 15 children consisting of boys and girls. The data collection techniques used are observation sheets and documentation. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. Each cycle I and II has increased. The results showed that cycle I of 15 children in improving fine motor skills through paper folding activities obtained an average value of children in the criteria for starting to develop (MB), while in cycle II the average child obtained the ability to develop very well (BSB) criteria. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the development of fine motor skills of early childhood in Almubarak Tonrorita Kindergarten, Biringbulu District, Gowa Regency through paper folding activities has increased.

Abstract

One of the important language skills to develop in elementary school is poetry writing, which can foster students' sensitivity, imagination, and creative thinking. Therefore, an innovative learning model is needed that incorporates media such as discovery learning. This research is a quantitative, quasi-experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving one group of subjects who are given treatment after a pretest and then concluded with a posttest. The study was conducted in the fourth grade of SD Inpres Pare'-Pare', Bajeng District, Gowa Regency, with a sample size of 24 students. The research instruments consisted of a poetry writing skills test and a student activity observation sheet. The results showed an average pre-test score of 47.71 and a post-test score of 88.13. The t-test count was 20.74, and the t-table value at a 5% significance level was 2.069. Therefore, the use of the discovery learning model with images as a medium influenced the improvement of students' poetry writing skills. Keywords: Discovery Learning, image media, writing poetry
