Abstract

Tahun 2014, sebuah program komunikasi kota bertajuk Sayang Bandung mengeluarkan dua iklan layanan masyarakat terkait kebersihan disertai dengan penegakan kembali Perda Nomor 11 Tahun 2005 tentang Penyelenggaraan Ketertiban, Kebersihan, dan Keindahan (K3) di Kota Bandung. Iklan tersebut dibuat oleh suatu tim non pemerintah (NGO) yang terdiri dari akademisi dan praktisi kreatif di kota Bandung. Dua versi iklan ‘Sayang Bandung’ yaitu ‘Iis’ dan ‘Asep’ mendapatkan banyak respon terutama di media sosial. Iklan ini tidak hanya mendapat perhatian dari netizen, melainkan juga dari portal berita online dan berbagai macam forum, seperti Kaskus.com yang memuat 70 halaman khusus untuk mengulas iklan tersebut. Respon positif berupa dukungan maupun respon negatif berupa kritikan disampaikan melalui akun media sosial ‘Sayang Bandung’. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tanda-tanda iklan dan mitos yang terbentuk dalam iklan ‘Sayang Bandung’ yang memicu munculnya respon-respon tersebut. Pendekatan semiotika teks Thwaites digunakan untuk menganalisis iklan tersebut. Berdasarkan analisa dipahami bahwa  dalam iklan Sayang Bandung terdapat konsep gender, daya tarik fisik, keakraban komunikasi, dan budaya yang digunakan untuk mengkomunikasikan perda serta himbauan kebersihan kepada masyarakat kota Bandung, khususnya yang berusia muda. Kata Kunci : iklan layanan masyarakat, sayang bandung, semiotika AbstraCT In 2014, a city communication program titled Sayang Bandung issued two public service announcements related to cleanliness accompanied by the re-enforcement of Peraturan Daerah No. 11 of 2005 on the Implementation of Order, Cleanliness and Fineness (K3) in Bandung. The ad was created by a non-government team (NGO) consisting of academics and creative practitioners in Bandung. Two versions of the ads of 'Sayang Bandung',  'Iis' and 'Asep' get a lot of response especially in social media. These ads not only get the attention of netizens, but also from online news portals and various forums, such as Kaskus.com which contains 70 pages specifically to review the ads. Positive response in the form of support and negative response in the form of criticism delivered through social media account 'Sayang Bandung'. This study aims to determine the signs of advertising and myths that formed in the ads of 'Sayang Bandung' which triggered the emergence of these responses. The Thwaites text semiotics approach is used to analyze the ad. Based on the analysis, it is understood that in the ads of‘Sayang Bandung’ there are gender concepts, physical attraction, communication intimacy, and culture used to communicate local regulations and hygiene appeals to the people of Bandung, especially young ones. Keywords : public service advertisement, sayang bandung, semiotics

Abstract

Coworking space pada dasarnya merupakan tempat kerja bersama bagi para profesional yang bekerja mandiri namun membutuhkan interaksi sosial. Tempat ini berkembang luas secara global, termasuk di Indonesia. Di Kota Bandung jumlah coworking space terus bertambah, namun setelah ditinjau ulang, beberapa tempat tutup atau sepi pengunjung. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai upaya pengembangan coworking space dari segi kenyamanan pengguna saat bekerja di dalamnya. Faktor-faktor yang diteliti adalah pengaturan spasial, jenis furnitur, kebisingan, penghawaan yang mempengaruhi temperatur, pencahayaan, dan suasana yang dihadirkan dari tampilan visualnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan memberikan saran pengembangan desain interior yang dapat diterapkan di Kota Bandung. Sampel yang diambil adalah 3 tempat dengan pemilihan nonprobabilitas. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan melakukan observasi di masing-masing tempat dan wawancara pengguna untuk mengetahui persepsinya sebagai data pendukung. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa beberapa faktor pembentuk lingkungan kerja belum diterapkan secara optimal untuk kenyaman penggunanya.Kata kunci: desain interior, lingkungan kerja, coworking space, bandungAbstractCoworking space is basically a shared workplace for professionals who work independently but require social interaction. This research is conducted as an effort to develop coworking space in terms of user's comfort while working in it. Factors studied are spatial arrangement, type of furniture, noise, air circulation that affect temperature, lighting, and atmosphere presented from visual appearance. The purpose of this research is to review and provide suggestions for interior design development that can be applied in Bandung. Three places were taken as samples with non-probability selection. This research method is done qualitatively by doing observation in each place and user interview to know perception as supporting data. The results show that some of the factors that form the working environment have not been optimally applied for user’s convenience.Keywords: interior design, working environment, coworking space, bandung

Abstract

Abstrak Salah satu krisis lingkungan yang kita hadapi sekarang adalah Pemanasan Global akibat meningkatnya hasil emisi Gas Rumah Kaca mengharuskan kita untuk segera berpikir dan bertindak melakukan upaya pencegahan agar krisis tidak berlanjut terus menerus. Konsep Bangunan Berkelanjutan (sustainable building) adalah salah satu upaya sektor jasa konstruksi untuk turut berkonstribusi dalam usaha mitigasi krisis lingkungan tersebut dengan prinsip penghematan energi dan mengurangi dampaknya terhadap lingkungan serta harapan agar desain dapat bekerja dengan alam (pasive design), terutama pada aspek konsumsi listrik pada gedung. Prinsip ini dapat diterapkan dengan melakukan pemanfaatan cahaya siang secara optimal sebagai penerangan utama gedung pada siang hari, seperti yang dilakukan oleh bangunan kantor Gedung KAMPUS PT Dahana Subang. Bagaimana strategi dan metode pemanfaatan cahaya siang pada gedung ini diuraikan dan dikaji dalam penelitian ini secara deskriptif analitis. Didapatkan faktor, elemen desain, dan berbagai pertimbangan yang menyokong upaya penghematan energi ini. Kajian juga membandingkan penerapan yang dilakukan dengan panduan teknis dari GREENSHIP GBCI serta pendekatan Pencahayaan Siang untuk Bangunan Berkelanjutan dari Mary Guzowksi. Dengan demikian, maka diharapkan penelitian ini dapat mengingatkan para perancang pada paradigma desain yang berkelanjutan sebagai panduan setiap praktik perancangannya dalam rangka turut melakukan mitigasi krisis lingkungan. Kata kunci: pencahayaan siang, bangunan berkelanjutan, penghematan energi.   AbstraCT One of the environmental crisis we are facing today is global warming caused by rising greenhouse gas emissions requires us to think and act immediately to take steps to prevent that crisis does not goes on forever. The concept of Sustainable Building  is one of the efforts of the construction sector also contribute to mitigating the environmental crisis with the principle of saving energy and reducing the impact on the environment as well as the hope that the design can work with nature (passive design), especially in the aspect of power consumption in building. This principle can be applied to make use of daylight optimally as the main lighting in the building during the day, like the office building of PT Dahana Subang Gedung KAMPUS does it. How the strategy and methods of use of daylight in this buildings is described and studied in this research with descriptive analisys. The research finds some factors, design elements, and the various considerations that underpin these energy saving measures. The study also compares the Gedung KAMPUS's application with the technical guide from GBCI GREENSHIP and Daylighting approach to Sustainable Building of Mary Guzowksi. Thus, it is expected that this study can alert the designer to the paradigm of sustainable design as practical guide in order to contribute in mitigation of the environmental crisis. Abstract

Yogyakarta city in the era of globalization has been developing without losing its historical and cultural values, which are owned as regional identity. This identity makes Yogyakarta city has a tourist attraction value both for domestic and international tourists. Electric pedicab is one of alternative transportations in Yogyakarta that is able to support tourism activities. In the development of city transportation, electric pedicab is the result of the transformation of traditional pedicab, one of the cultural heritages in Yogyakarta. The purpose of transformation effort is to preserve pedicab transportation and to respond issues related to sustainability threat. Design has also become one of the aspects that needs to be considered in developing pedicab transportation. This study reviews and analyzes various factors that can influence the design of an electric pedicab, so that it can be a reference in further design development. This research use qualitative approach and supported by observation and purposive sampling interviews. The result of this study is a new electric pedicab design concept, without losing the design characteristics of the traditional Yogyakarta pedicab.Keywords: electric pedicab, transportation, tourism, Yogyakarta

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji dan mengeksplorasi metode crowdsourcing (urun daya) sebagai pendekatan alternatif yang dapat diterapkan dalam merancang sebuah platform pengarsipan digital. Dalam sebuah upaya pengumpulan data dan informasi, karakteristik metode ini umumnya dimanfaatkan melalui platform digital agar mendapatkan lebih banyak informasi, ide hingga solusi secara cepat dengan melibatkan banyak pihak dalam jaringan internet. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, metode crowdsourcing dapat dihadirkan sebagai tawaran alternatif dalam mengakomodasi kebutuhan pengarsipan musik di Indonesia, berdasarkan fenomena, kondisi dan permasalahan pengarsipan musik yang dapat teridentifikasi. Untuk menghasilkan rekomendasi yang relevan, tiga studi terdahulu tentang crowdsouricng dipilih berdasarkan korelasinya dengan teknis pengumpulan data secara crowdsourcing (Crowdsourced data gathering). Literatur tersebut dikaji agar dapat menghasilkan rekomendasi alur penerapan, rancangan, serta mendefinisikan spesifikasi fitur-fitur antarmuka yang tepat dan efisien dalam langkah implementasi metode crowdsourcing kedalam sebuah desain media informasi digital. Melalui penelitian ini, tinjauan implementasi metode crowdsourcing pada platform pengarsipan diharapkan dapat menjadi tawaran alternatif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi jalannya upaya pengarsipan musik dan meminimalisir permasalahannya yang terjadi di Indonesia. Kata kunci: crowdsourcing, direktori, musik, pengarsipan  AbstractThis research was aim to study and explore the crowdsourcing method as an alternative approach that can be applied to designing a digital archiving platform. In an archiving and information gathering initiative, the characteristics of this method are generally utilized through digital platforms in order to get more information, ideas and solutions quickly by involving many parties in the internet network. In this regard, the crowdsourcing method can be presented as an alternative implementation in accommodating the needs of musical archiving in Indonesia, based on the emerging phenomena, conditions and problems. To produce relevant recommendations, previous studies on crowdsourcing method were selected based on their correlation with the crowd-sourced data gathering technique. The literature is reviewed in order to produce recommendations for the implementation flow, design, and define the appropriate and efficient specification of interface features in the implementation phase of the crowdsourcing method to form an efficient design for digital information media. Through this study, a review of the implementation of the crowdsourcing method on archiving platforms is expected to be an alternative offer in increasing the efficiency of music archiving efforts and minimizing the problems that occur in Indonesia. Keywords: archiving, crowdsourcing, directory, music

Abstract

Saat ini ruang kreatif sebagai media berkarya sudah banyak diterapkan di beberapa kota besar semenjak Era Reformasi. Ruang kreatif berdiri dengan beragam bentuk dan fokus yang dikembangkannya, bukan hanya pada bidang kreatif saja, namun juga pada bidang budaya, teknologi, sosial, dan bisnis. Berdirinya ruang kreatif (creative space) memberikan wadah atau tempat bernaung bagi insan kreatif untuk saling berbagi informasi satu sama lain. Di Indonesia sendiri, semangat berkreasi ini sudah semakin menyebar termasuk ke daerah terdepan, terluar, dan tertinggal (3T) yang masih ada. Walaupun minim akan sarana dan prasarana, umumnya ruang kreatif yang ada di daerah 3T masih sarat akan budaya lokal yang menjadi keunikan tersendiri pada komunitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan ruang kreatif sebagai media pengembangan individu di daerah 3T dan menjelaskan tentang bagaimana ruang kreatif tersebut mampu mempengaruhi kegiatan yang terdapat di daerah yang akan diteliti yaitu di komunitas Lakoat Kujawas yang berada di Timor Tengah Selatan, Nusa Tenggara Timur.Kata kunci: ruang kreatif, daerah 3T, kegiatan kreatif, peranan ruang.

Abstract

In support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), sustainable design has become one of the main focuses in undergraduate design education. Sustainable design refers to a design process that considers environmental, social, and economic impacts throughout the product lifecycle. This study aims to analyze the implementation of sustainable design in the final projects of Product Design students at Telkom University, as a case study from 2021 to 2023. Using qualitative methods and content analysis, 33 final project samples were evaluated using a sustainable design matrix. The analysis results show that although there is a decline in the quality of certain metrics, such as Biodegradable Materials, there is a positive trend in the use of environmentally friendly materials, material recycling, and efficient, multifunctional design. These findings indicate that students are increasingly aware of the importance of integrating sustainability principles into design, not only as an ethical responsibility but also as an innovative strategy. With a focus on sustainable materials and product durability, students demonstrate their commitment to reducing environmental impact and enhancing the quality of sustainable design.

Abstract

During design process, Surface Mimicry can be used as an alternative approach by utilizing the role and similarity of objects based on their familiarity with shapes. Unlike behavior and functional mimicry, the point of view on surface mimicry expresses the visual similarity of objects rather than their actions and functions. Bamboo is a traditional Indonesian material that is easy to find and use as a basic material for various musical instruments, but the waste is still rarely processed. For example, at the location of Saung Angklung Udjo's partner as a supplier of angklung in large quantities in West Java, waste from production with a subtractive process of bamboo sticks of various sizes ends up being material that is only burned. This article tells the design process of prototype works of preschool music toys that utilize the potential of bamboo waste and the subtractive production process through a surface mimicry approach that is relevant to the character of the original material form. This design exploration activity is part of mimicry research (surface, behavior, function), process (formative, subtractive, additive) and system (integral, modular) which can be an alternative method in developing innovative products in the context of environmentally friendly and sustainable design.
