Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) REHEAT (Reusing Cooking Oil as Alternative Household Fuel in Response to the Energy Crisis) bertujuan memanfaatkan minyak jelantah (Waste Cooking Oil, WCO) sebagai bahan bakar alternatif kompor rumah tangga melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat bersama Aisyiyah Kampung Dadap.

Abstract

This research was conducted at a company engaged in the precast concrete industry. The company produces and distributes piling products both domestically and abroad. The quality of pile products made by the company is one of the considerations of consumers. For this reason, the company must provide the best quality by utilizing all production factors as efficiently as possible. This is done to maintain consumer confidence and reduce the number of products that must meet company standards. This research aims to find the leading cause of defects in pile products. The method used is failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA). The FMEA method will look at the factors that cause defects based on the highest risk priority number (RPN). From the research results obtained, four factors cause defects in pile products, namely human factors, machine factors, material factors and method factors. Based on calculating the priority risk value in the FMEA method, the RPN value results are Machine Factors of 192, Material Factors of 180, Human Factors of 120, and Method Factors of 75. The factor causing the highest pile product defects is the machine factor, with an RPN value of 192. Based on this, it is known that the spinning machine used is too old and many machine components need to be replaced, so the proposed improvements given are to carry out regular and scheduled machine checks and maintenance and immediately repair or replace damaged machine components.

Abstract

This research was conducted at a company engaged in rubber processing. This company plants, maintains, and processes rubber to produce Crumb Rubber. Based on observations during the study, it is known that there are defective products with an average of 400 kg per month. The type of defect found in the product is a white spot. Defects in these products are caused by failures in the performance of machines that experience thirst or collection, causing white spots in the products produced. This study aims to improve the company's performance by reducing defective products by analyzing the factors that cause a decrease in company performance, measuring the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) value, and providing an improvement design to improve machine performance so that defective products can be minimized. The research found that two dominant factors cause high machine breakdowns: maintenance schedules and raw material quality. Based on the calculation results, the average overall equipment effectiveness value is 46%. Machine performance is not according to OEE standards due to the average value of the availability rate being 80%, the performance rate being 93%, and the quality rate being 57%. Based on this, the improvement design for the low OEE value is to improve the suggestion system, improve the quality control group, and implement the company's PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of a designed three-phase electrical distribution system for a dedicated Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) plant. Based on data extracted from a single-line diagram and load schedule, a significant inherent load imbalance of 9.15% was identified. This paper outlines a four-stage methodology to investigate the consequences and propose a solution. The methodology includes a system audit, simulation-based consequence analysis of energy losses and motor derating, design of a no-cost phase-swapping mitigation strategy, and a techno-economic evaluation. The proposed passive balancing reduces the load imbalance to 1.32%. The study highlights the critical importance of meticulous load scheduling during the initial design phase to enhance system efficiency, ensure equipment longevity, and achieve significant operational cost savings without capital expenditure.
