Abstract

Land availability for multi-storey buildings can be managed by constructing a multi-storey building with a basement. The basement construction of Menara BRI Medan is surrounded by office buildings. The soil is composed of sand, medium sand, clay silt, and gravel, resulting in the construction of a retaining wall comprised of a diaphragm wall 17,50 meters deep with a wall thickness of 0,60 meters. During the deep excavation work, the diaphragm wall was reinforced by temporary supports (strut). The strut installation consists of 2 layers with a distance of 3 meters in between struts. This minimizes the deformation that occurs. The lateral deformation was calculated using the finite element method in PLAXIS 2D with Mohr-Coulomb soil modeling at drill point BH-02. The deformation results in PLAXIS 2D will be compared with the on-site monitoring results by taking Inclinometer-I2 measurements. The result of the lateral deformation of the diaphragm wall from the analysis using PLAXIS 2D modeling was found to be 7,72 mm. In addition, the lateral deformation value from the monitoring results during the measurement of inclinometer-I2 on site was 7,55 mm. However, during the comparison between the deformation results in PLAXIS 2D and the monitoring results on site, discrepancies were identified due to alterations of parameters during the execution of the deep excavation work.

Abstract

Road network data and information and spatial supporting infrastructure are important to a road database management planning process. Medan Amplas District, Medan City has a road network divided into national authority roads, provincial roads and city roads, which is 143.14 km. The study area in this research is a flexible pavement-type secondary local road with a length of 33.12 km. The method used in this research is the Surface Distress Index (SDI) Method. SDI divides road conditions into 4, namely good condition, moderate condition, lightly damaged condition and heavily damaged condition. According to RCS or SKJ 2011, there are only 4 elements that are used as support for calculating the SDI value, namely % crack area, average crack width, number of holes, and average rutting depth. From the results of the analysis of the level of road damage in secondary local roads with flexible pavement type in Medan Amplas District, namely 51 road sections in good condition (98%) and 1 road section in fair condition (2%). It can be concluded that the condition of Secondary Local roads in Medan Amplas District is in good condition and only requires routine maintenance at certain points on each road section. The condition of the Secondary Local roads in Medan Amplas District using the SDI Method is in Good Rating, but the Denai River Inspection Road section has a rating of moderate damage.

Abstract

Project schedules are generally created manually, which may lead to delays during the implementation on-site. It is due to the non-inclusion of the uncertainty factor in planning the project schedule. Delays in accomplishing one activity will result in delays in the next one. This study was intended to conduct rescheduling process to minimize the delay in the implementation of the Savanna Sumatera Bridge Project. The study applied PERT method in the rescheduling exercise by using three times conjectures on each project work item, which are: optimistic duration, most likely duration, and pessimistic duration. The results showed that the project was completed in 162 working days with a probability of completion of 99.9%, 34 days faster than the target project duration of 196 working days.
