Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how a teacher at MAN 2 Palembang taught English to a bilingual class of tenth-graders. Case study qualitative research was used as the research design for this study. The researchers used interviews to gather in-depth information about the English teacher's instructional strategies. The participant was one of the English teachers at MAN 2 Palembang and was selected using a sampling technique known as purposive sampling. The researchers used thematic analysis to analyze the data in order to obtain information about the difficulties in teaching speaking skills at MAN 2 Palembang. The findings revealed that there were three strategies used by the teacher in teaching English: (1) the teacher used a combination of role plays and storytelling; (2) the teacher used a combination of brainstorming, group discussion, and oral presentation; and (3) the teacher used ice-breaking and conversation for teaching English. The teacher utilized the technique because it is straightforward and based on a manual. The teacher also utilized additional methods. It could be concluded that the majority of students enjoy the teacher's strategies.

Abstract

Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah mengenai pengembangan multimedia interaktif pembelajaran PAI materi al-Qur’an berbasis android untuk siswa SD. Adapun Langkah pengembangan mengadopsi Langkah-langkah pengembangan model Borg and Gall, yang meliputi : Research and information collecting, planning, depelov primary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, operational product revision, operational field testing, final product, dissemination and implementation. Uji validasi dalam penelitian ini dilakukan oleh 3 orang validator yakni Dr. H.Amirul Mukminin al-Anwari untuk validasi materi, Dr. Buyung, MT untuk validasi bidang aplikasi dan Dr. Husni Mubarok, M.Pd untuk validasi bidang Pendidikan SD. Adapun rata-rata skor untuk 3 validator adalah 95 dalam kategori valid. Dalam uji kepraktisan dengan indikasi praktis adalah produk mudah digunakan melibatkan 3 guru dan 3 siswa Adapun nilai rata-rata 3 guru dalam persen adalah 95% dan nilai rata-rata untuk 3 orang siswa 84,2% dengan demikian dinyatakan bahwa produk mudah digunakan. Selanjutnya uji keefektifan produk, keefektifan produk dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar dari sebelum penggunaan produk (pretest) dan setelah penggunaan produk (posttest) dilakukan dalam 3 kali yakni di kelas IV, di kelas V, dan di kelas VI SDN 32 Talang Kelapa,  dalam uji coba ini meliputi uji perform dan uji pemahaman dengan test. Adapun hasil uji performance di kelas IV yaitu pretest 51,17 dan posttest 87,457, di kelas V 57,68 dan posttest 86,428 dan dikelas VI 69,5 dan posttest 87,737 kemudian test pemahaman meliputi 45,43 dan posttest 77,29 dan di kelas V 44,29 dan posttest 85,57 di kelas VI pretest 50,79 dan posttest 82,37 posttest selalu mengalami peningkatan dengan demikian produk dinyatakan efektif. Kemudian dilakukan disseminasi dan implementasi di 10 sekolahan yakni SDN 27 Talang Kelapa, SDN 12 Talang Kelapa di SDN 01 Talang Kelapa. SDN 20 Talang kelapa, SDN 08 Talang Kelapa.  SDN 34 Talang Kelapa, SDN 24 Talang Kelapa, SDN SDN 07 Talang Kelapa, SDN 23 Talang Kelapa dan SDN 03 Talang Kelapa, dan SDN 29 Talang Kelapa.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of virtual group guidance using modeling techniques to increase students' interest in giving alms in terms of input, output and implementation process. The research method used is mixed methods, namely embedded design. This research involved class X students using purposive sampling, namely ten students for the experimental group and the control group. Researchers used research instruments on the psychological scale of interest in giving alms, interviews, observation and documentation. The research results found that 1) virtual group guidance using modeling techniques was proven to be effective in increasing students' interest in giving alms in terms of input and output. This is based on the pre-test score obtained in the experimental group, namely 165 (61.34%) in the poor category. Meanwhile, the average post-test score was 213.9 (79.81%) in the medium category. The sig (2-tailed) value obtained is 0.002 where 0.002 0.05 from the results of the Paired Sampled T-Test. So, it is proven that there is a significant difference when compared before and after the treatment is applied. The Independent Sampled T-Test also shows that the sig (2-tailed) value is 0.008 where 0.008 0.05 so it can be said that the experimental group is different from the control group regarding their average interest in giving alms; and 2) virtual group guidance with modeling techniques has proven to be effective in increasing students' interest in giving alms in terms of the implementation process which can be seen from the aspects of communication, resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure, all of which are in the high category.

Abstract

This qualitative case study aimed to explore students' insights of practicing English speaking through participation in an English-speaking club. The three student participants in this research were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Research data were collected through semi-structured interviews using open-ended questions. Thematic analysis was then employed to analyze the data. The findings indicated that participating in the English-speaking club helps students get a supportive environment for practicing their English-speaking skills through conversation, presentation, speech, storytelling, debate, and other various speaking activities. They experience fellowship and friendship among club members, receive moral and emotional support for their views and opinions, gain more confidence and encouragement to speak English, have more opportunities to express their ideas and thoughts in English, develop their English vocabulary and expressions, receive feedback and corrections from fellow members, and have fun with their English speaking practices.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas sistem pendidikan di Jepang dengan fokus pada analisis historis, problematika, dan penyelenggaraan pendidikan di negara tersebut. Pendidikan di Jepang dikenal memiliki kualitas yang tinggi, terutama di tingkat dasar dan menengah, yang berperan besar dalam pembangunan ekonomi negara pasca-Perang Dunia II. Meskipun demikian, terdapat tantangan, terutama di pendidikan tinggi, terkait dengan kesenjangan antara teori dan praktik serta kurangnya inovasi dalam kurikulum. Artikel ini juga memberikan solusi terhadap masalah yang dihadapi, termasuk rekomendasi untuk memperbaiki kurikulum, metode pengajaran, dan meningkatkan aksesibilitas pendidikan inklusif. Teknologi dalam pendidikan juga menjadi bagian penting dalam mendukung sistem pendidikan yang lebih adaptif dan relevan di era digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji secara komprehensif dimensi historis, problematika sistemik, dan mekanisme penyelenggaraan pendidikan di Singapura melalui pendekatan studi kepustakaan yang mengintegrasikan perspektif historis, sosiologis, dan kebijakan publik. Transformasi sistem pendidikan Singapura dari era kolonial hingga kontemporer mengungkapkan trajectory evolusioner yang dikarakterisasi oleh transisi paradigmatik dari survival-driven phase menuju holistic education phase yang menekankan pembelajaran seumur hidup. Periodisasi historis menunjukkan bahwa sistem pendidikan Singapura berkembang melalui lima fase distingtif yang mencerminkan responsivitas adaptif terhadap dinamika sosial-ekonomi global, dimulai dari fase survival yang menekankan literasi massal dan nation-building, berlanjut ke economy-driven phase yang mengintegrasikan pendidikan dengan industrialisasi, kemudian ability-driven phase yang mengintroduksi diferensiasi berdasar kemampuan individual, dilanjutkan holistic education phase yang mempromosikan pengembangan komprehensif peserta didik, hingga fase terkini Learn for Life yang mengkonstruksi pembelajaran sebagai proses berkelanjutan melampaui pencapaian akademik semata. Meskipun menduduki ranking teratas dalam asesmen internasional seperti PISA dan TIMSS, sistem pendidikan Singapura menghadapi paradoks fundamental antara rigour akademik dengan kesejahteraan psikologis siswa, serta persistensi kesenjangan struktural yang dieksaserbasi oleh shadow education. Proliferasi industri les privat menciptakan stratifikasi baru yang mengkompromikan prinsip ekuitas, dimana siswa dari keluarga berpenghasilan tinggi memiliki akses superior terhadap sumber daya pembelajaran supplementary. Mekanisme penyelenggaraan pendidikan yang diorganisasikan melalui hubungan tripartit Ministry of Education, National Institute of Education, dan sekolah memfasilitasi reformasi progresif seperti Full Subject-Based Banding yang menggantikan sistem streaming tradisional, serta investasi masif mencapai 20% anggaran pemerintah yang merefleksikan komitmen nasional terhadap human capital development.Komparasi dengan Indonesia mengindikasikan perbedaan fundamental dimana Singapura berfokus pada refinement sistem established dengan tantangan mitigasi stratifikasi dari shadow education, sedangkan Indonesia bergulat dengan disparitas kualitas pendidikan dasar, variasi signifikan pendekatan pembelajaran antara wilayah urban-rural, dan fragmentasi implementasi kebijakan akibat desentralisasi yang belum optimal. Temuan penelitian berkontribusi memperkaya diskursus pendidikan komparatif dan memberikan implikasi praktis bahwa adopsi best practices memerlukan kontekstualisasi lokal serta komitmen berkelanjutan melampaui siklus politik untuk mencapai transformasi pendidikan bermakna.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out students’ perceptions of Instagram vlog for English speaking practices at SMAN 13 Palembang. The qualitative research method with a case study approach was applied in this study. The participants of this study were four students of XI IPA 4 at SMAN 13 Palembang. The data obtained from interview were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The findings of this research showed that there were some advantages and limitations of Instagram vlog in speaking practices, namely: (1) Improve English students’ Pronunciation, (2) Develop English students’ Vocabulary, (3) Improve English students’ grammar (4) Improve English students’ speaking Fluency, (5) Increase Self-confident English Students’ Speaking, (6) Increase motivation for English students’ Speaking, (7) Problem with Internet connection.
