Abstract

Utilization of crude palm oils (CPO) as biodiesel faces difficulty due to their high level of viscosity. Mixing crude eucalyptus oils (CEO) with CPO may reduce the viscosity due to the presence of aromatic compounds in CEO. The single droplet analysis was performed to determine the characteristics of mixing CPO with the CEO. The results showed that the addition of CEO decreased the viscosity due to the presence of intermolecular attractions, thereby leading to more active molecules in the CPO-CEO mixture. Furthermore, the aromatic compound in the CEO helped in decreasing the CPO flash point, while the aromatic compound in the triglyceride molecule weakens the bonds between molecules. The addition of CEO to CPO tends to reduce the ignition delay due to the presence of cineol content in the CEO, which weakens the van der Waals bond in CPO.

Abstract

One of the strong candidates for biodiesel is Crude Coconut Oil (CCO) but its high viscosity cannot be applied directly without treatment. Therefore, nanocarbon is added to reduce the viscosity of CCO. Nanocarbon is a natural material with semiconductor properties, a good heat conductor, and can attract other molecules. By adding nanocarbon, it is expected to reduce the viscosity of CCO. This study aimed to determine the combustion characteristics of droplets on CCO by adding nanocarbon by 1% and 5%. The method used was a true experiment with droplets, which dripped on the thermocouple with activation energy from the heater. The results showed that CCO burned 0.933s with a droplet diameter of 4.307mm, droplet diameter of 5.472 mm. By adding 5% nanocarbon to CCO, the CCO burned faster, more reactive, and the ignition was shorter than the pure CCO and 1% CCO.

Abstract

Program kerja ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perekonomian masyarakat desa. Melihat dari keadaan warga desa, Tim KKN membuat program kerja yang berhubungan untuk pengembangan perekonomian desa Wonoagung, selain itu program kerja ini sebagai bentuk kreatifitas mahasiswa. Budidaya ikan lele merupakan suatu usaha yang menjanjikan untuk di geluti waktu sekarang, kebutuhan akan ikan yang tinggi di pasaran, pasar ikan lele yang stabil membuat peternakan budidaya ikan lele di minati. Ikan lele yang mudah di kembangkan merupakan salah satu faktor pendukung untuk kemajuan budidaya ikan lele, dan tingkat ketahanan ikan lele terhadap perubahan cuaca yang baik mendukung berkembang cepatnya dan kemudahan peternak untuk menjadikan budidaya ikan lele pilihan yang tepat untuk usaha . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan study kelayakan usaha terhadap usaha terhadap pembesaran ikan lele peternakan di Wonoagung yang di tinjau dari aspek aspek yang terkait dengan study kelayakan. Study kelayakan ini diharapkan untuk dapat mengetahui market pasar yang ada, dan kendala apa saja yang mungkin terjadi dalam proses mendirikan jenis usaha olahan ikan lele tersebut. Mengenai program pemasaran Tim menggunakan metode pemasaran berupa penawaran terhadap rumah makan, bekerja sama dengan pengepul dan di pasarkan melalui media sosial.

Abstract

Aktivitas keseharian manusia akan menghasilkan sampah, begitu juga dengan yang terjadi di Desa Wonoagung Kecamatan Tirtoyudo, Malang. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini membahas mengenai bagaimana proses pengelolaan sampah yang belum terstruktur dengan baik, dikarenakan proses dalam pengelolaan sampah belum memadai serta fasilitas dan kesadaran masyarakat desa Wonoagung masih perlu di tingkatkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah  untuk mengetahui sistem pengelolaan sampah di Desa Wonoagung Kecamatan Tirtoyudo Kabupaten Malang. Metode yang digunakandalam program ini adalah menggunakan cara survei lokasi dengan melibatkan pertisipan. Partisipan yang digunakan adalah perwakilan dari tokoh masyarakat yang mengetahui langsung permasalahan yang ada, ketua RT RW, kepala desa serta perangkat desa. Dari hasil menyatakan bahwa pengelolaan dampah di Desa Wonoagung masih kurang baik, dikarenakan belum adanya faslilitas untuk membuang sampah serta tingkat kesadaran masyarakat yang masih rendah akan pentingnya menjaga lingkungan tetap bersih. aran yang bisa diberikan adalah mengadakan failitas untuk warga dalam membuang sampah (tempat sampah), melakukan kerja sama dengan bank sampah dalam pengelolaan sampahnya dengan melakukan sosialisasi tentang pengelolaan sampah yang baik dan benar,  serta membuat jadwal rutin kerja bakti dalam membuat lingkungan bersih.

Abstract

In the Middle of changes in the weather is erratic and bustle of society different and also amid the technological advances that have been increasingly sophisticated, I was planning tool basking garments automatically by using a heat sensor IC LM35 and sensor LDR with the aim of enabling the public to conserve the resources of time, and power should be used for more important purposes. This tool uses automatic control system using heat sensor IC LM35 and LDR light sensor as a detector and microcontroller ATmega16 as a micro-processor. In the motion system, this tool uses a motor with a rotational speed of 80 rpm and reduced with pully in the ratio 1: 5 and again reduced by a screw 400 pitch per meter so that the resulting rate clothesline movement speed is 1 meter per minute.

Abstract

The development model of the turbine at this time began to do, especially in hydropower(Hydroelectric), along with the times and is also influenced by the needs of the energy needed byhumans, it is impossible to rely on energy will be exhausted and difficult updated later that we usetoday, for example, such as: coal, fossil, gas, and petroleum. At this time, a lot of literature that saysresearchers began to look at the energy of water back to its usefulness in use now and in the future.Utilization of water energy that was developed at the moment is the use of water-based micro-hydroenergy ranging from small to large sizes, depending on how high fall of water needed and alsodepends on how much the speed of the water flow in order to gain significant power. In this case, theanalysis uses centrifugal pump types as the engineering of H falling water to help produce water inorder to speed the pace of play Pelton turbine runner of the prototype. From the analysis of dataretrieval from Pelton turbine prototype obtain the following results rate of rotation runner Peltonturbine prototype more domonan on the size of the nozzle diameter of 4 mm 90 when the valveopening of the nozzle of 3 mm, and 5 mm, which resulted in the rate of rotation of 258 runners Rpmand also generate electric power of 0.835 Watt, while the value of the fluid flow rate (Q) generated asmuch as 3.92 x 10-4

Abstract

Global warming issues and the depletion of fossil fuel reserves encourage the finding of new alternative fuel that is renewable, easy to find, manage and expected able to shift the dependency to the fossil fuel and alternative fuel that has environmentally friendly emission. One of alternative fuel such as HHO (Browns Gas), results of water electrolysis by using electric current. Electrolysis is process of water molecule (H2O) disentanglement become hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) with reaction triggering energy of electricity. The process can be run when two electrodes was placed in water and direct current pass through between the two electrodes. Hydrogen was formed at the cathode, while oxygen at anode. And to improve the conductivity of electricity and production of HHO gas (Brown gas) that produced in the process, it need additional catalyst, in the research was NaHCO3 (Sodium Bicarbonate) with percentage variation of 2,5; 5; 7,5; 10; 12,5 and 15%, that was dissolved in the aquadest water. The results showed that the more NaHCO3 dissolved in the water the higher electric current that passing through in the electrolyte. NaHCO3 10% percentage has the highest HHO generator efficiency, that was 18.954%.

Abstract

Water energy can be utilized for generating electricity by exploiting the available potential energy (potential falls and the flow rate). Because energy future is a problem that has always been the concern of every nation, most countries, including Indonesia, the supply of energy is still rely on fossil fuels are limited and thinning, the potential of fossil energy sources in Indonesia and the world are expected to run out within a certain time due to the addition of consumption as well as industrial development increases. Based on data from national energy management 2005-2025 issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) in 2005, reserves of oil, gas and coal in Indonesia will be depleted within a certain time. The aim in this research was to determine how many blades are used to determine how much power is generated at the prototype turbine pelton turbine. From these results it appears that the rate of rotation runners are more with the?dominant in the use of blade 20 with the valve opening 90 resulting rotational speed reaches 412 rpm, and generates electric power of 10.66 Watts. while the value of the fluid flow rate (Q) generated as much as 8.4 x 10-4 m/s. the number of blade 18 produces a flow rate of 107.01 m/s.?As for the velocity of fluid flow at the valve opening 90 however generate a fluid flow value of 8.4 x 10-4 m/

Abstract

Diesel engine is a kind of combustion where fuel is ignited by the high temperature gas is compressed. Comparison with the fuel-air mixture, the incoming air to be compressed in adiabatic so that the temperature becomes higher, then the air combined with sprayed oil slowly in a state of almost isobars. Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that can be used directly or blended with diesel fuel in diesel engines. The purpose of this research to study the characteristics of alternative fuel diesel engine (torque, power, specific fuel consumption, and exhaust emissions) on a standard diesel engine. The test is performed with experimental tests on diesel engines with biodiesel fuel 90% and the addition of castor oil 10%, while the percentage bioadditive as much as 0.5% and 9.5% castor oil on the stationary engine rev 200rpm. The results showed that the maximum value of 14.3 kg m torque, specific power of 28.6 kW at a constant 2000 rpm rotation and the needs of specific fuel 0.775 kg / kWh in a mixture of castor oil and biodiesel by 10% and 90%. While the lowest smoke gas opacity 23% on bioadditive mixture of clove oil on castor oil as much as 9.5% and 0.5%. Diesel engines with a constant rotation makes torque, effective power and specific fuel consumption is less than perfect, while the addition of castor oil and clove oil bioadditive of the fuel can lower the concentration of gas fumes in diesel engines.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the percentage of the mass fraction of NaOH (sodium hydroxide) to the performance of the HHO (Brown Gas) produced using electrolysis method by using the tool elektroliser type of dry cell electrode and the neutral plate using 304 stainless steel with insulation between electrodes using a rubber O- ring. HHO gas production performance observed in this study is the electric power used to produce HHO gas from each vasiari percentage of mass fraction, the rate of production of each variation percentage of mass fraction as well as the efficiency of HHO gas production of each variation percentage mass fraction. Electrolysis is the decomposition of the compound water (H2O) into molecules of hydrogen and oxygen (HHO) electricity use direct current (DC) in the electrolyte solution. This process happens when two electrodes (anode and cathode) are placed in distilled water and direct current (DC) which directly flows through the system. In this study, sodium hydroxide as a catalyst dissolved in distilled water in to speed the process of electrolysis. Percentage mass fraction of sodium hydroxide varies from 4% - 6%. The results showed that the electric power used for the production of HHO gas increased seirirng increase in the percentage of the mass fraction of sodium hydroxide and reaches a maximum value at porsentase mass fraction of 6%, amounting to 93 watts, at a rate produks HHO gas and efficiency HHO generator increases and reaches a maximum value the percentage of the mass fraction of sodium hydroxide 4% at 203.75 ml / s.
