Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of mathematics learning with ethnomathematics-based differentiated learning in grade VII students of Maubeli State Junior High School. This research is called Classroom Action Research, and it was carried out at Maubeli State Middle School. The data collection techniques used are tests and observations. The research instruments used were test questions and observation sheets. The data analysis techniques used are data analysis of test results and analysis of observation data. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes with an ethnomathematics-based differentiated learning approach. The average student learning outcomes and the percentage of class completion from cycle I to cycle II have exceeded the specified standard, namely the average student score reached 68.64 with a classical completion percentage of 64% in the first cycle increasing to 80.52 with a classical completion percentage of 84% in cycle II. Learning with an ethnomathematical approach can increase students' understanding of the material because it is related to the activities they do in their daily lives, especially in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening (P5) project

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematics junior high school students in resolving the mathematics HOTS in the national exam (UN). The methodology used is a descriptive qualitative study. The subject of study is six students of ninth grade consisting of two capable, two people are low capacity, and two others high-profile. Data collection in this research using interviews and test one package the exam every year from 2016-2018, then been validated by the expert, who is elected seven items of about which include an item in 2016, two items of the year 2017, and four items of the year 2018. An instrument used is an enlightenment interview and the national exam in HOTS categorize. The result showed that students low capable with only able to solve the item number-1 and number-4 wich including in HOTS level-4 and 5, and students who are capable of being able to solve problems HOTS have similarities with students who are highly capable of being able to solve the questions number 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 with HOTS levels 4, 5, and 6

Abstract

Abstract

Integrating local wisdom into student worksheets enhances the meaningfulness and cultural relevance of mathematics learning. However, few student worksheets integrate local wisdom related to dryland agriculture—a practice central to the socio-cultural and economic life of the semi-arid North Central Timor District—to support students’ numeracy skills. Dryland agriculture provides rich real-life quantitative contexts that are highly relevant for developing students’ numeracy competencies. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and evaluate student worksheets grounded in local dryland agriculture using a research and development approach with Tessmer’s formative evaluation model involving 26 purposively selected eighth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and numeracy tests, then analyzed using interactive qualitative analysis alongside descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicate that the developed worksheets are valid (77.67%) and practical, as evidenced by an 80.44% positive student response rate. Furthermore, the field test results demonstrated the effectiveness of the student worksheets, as indicated by a significant improvement in students’ numeracy scores from pretest to posttest. These findings suggest that culturally grounded, context-based student worksheets can effectively enhance students’ numeracy development in rural dryland contexts while also supporting students’ readiness for national mathematics assessments.

Abstract

Abstract Edupreneur activities or entrepreneurship education for students aims to: 1) Changing the paradigm, the mindset of students about entrepreneurship so that they have the skills, knowledge and attitude of entrepreneurship after completing their studies. 2). Helping students to analyze environmental-based entrepreneurial opportunities. The method used in this activity is an environmental-based business analysis activity. The service will be held on October 4, 2022. It will consist of two sessions. Session I, Motivation and introduction to the concept of entrepreneurship, and Session II of group assistance in making environmental-based business analysis. Session I aims to provide understanding and motivation for participants so they can change their mindset about entrepreneurship. And in session II it aims to train and assist participants to be actively involved in making business analysis based on real conditions, needs and opportunities in the environment. After the second session ended and based on the discussion the dedication team concluded 1). Students' understanding and knowledge about entrepreneurship can foster an entrepreneurial spirit 2). Students are able to analyze opportunities and environment-based businesses where students are able to identify potential and types of businesses that can be developed or can be implemented based on environmental conditions 3) Teamwork in groups can foster creativity and innovation based on opportunities and risks, especially in entrepreneurship.
