Abstract

The waters of Cemara Kecil Island are one of the areas included in the marine tourism utilization zone in the Karimun Jawa National Park (TNKJ) and are locations that are visited by many tourists. Along with the increase in visitors to Cemara Kecil Island, area managers need to prioritize the quality of tours compared to the quantity of tours so that research on tourist characteristics with a focus on analyzing tourists visiting Cemara Kecil Island is important to do. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of marine tourism tourists on Cemara Kecil Island. The research was conducted on Pulau Cemara Kecil, TNKJ. Primary data consists of interview data of respondents with a total of 51 respondents. The results show that most of the tourists who come are female (53%) with the largest age range being between 21-30 years (57%), the education level is dominated by Strata-1 (51%) with the most income being around Rp. 3,000,000 – Rp. 4,000,000 (37%). Travel time for tourists from the distance of origin to KNP is mostly in the range of 12-24 hours (61%). The distance from tourists to tourist sites is mostly in the range of 200-500 km (39%). Based on these results, several management steps that can be taken are through increasing the promotion of Cemara Kecil Island tourism and meeting the needs of tourists according to the characteristics of marine tourism tourists on Cemara Kecil Island.

Abstract

Bregada Surakarta palace is a military army that functions as a defence, security, and army of the Surakarta palace during colonialism in Indonesia. Bregada of the keraton Surakarta always experienced a shift in function in the post-independence period, especially during the leadership of King Paku Buwono XII. Although there has been a shift in function, the Surakarta palace troop still exists. This study aims to describe the process of shifting the function of the Surakarta palace warrior brigade. This research data uses literature review from historical records and ancient manuscripts and in-depth interviews with key informants. Based on the study results, the type of unit and the composition of the Surakarta Palace warrior brigade constantly changed from era to era. The brigades currently owned by the Surakarta Palace are the Music Corps, Tamtama, Jayeng Astra, Prawira Anom, Sarageni, Darapati, Jayasura, Baki, and Nyutra or Panyutra. The shift in the main functions of the Surakarta Palace Troops, as seen from the functions of the armed forces, defence and security, turned into traditional and cultural activities, mainly referring to their functions as performers of performing arts and tourism activists. Paku Buwono XIII, as a customary holder and successor to the previous king of the Surakarta palace, had a policy towards the sustainability of the Surakarta palace troupe. These policies include, among others, as a form of cultural preservation and adding to the activities of a soldier’s parade for the advancement of tourism in the city of Solo, Central Java.

Abstract

Kukup Beach is one of the beaches in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta whose management is still in the developing stage. However, the demand for marine tourism is quite busy with the lack of studies and research on the potential and analysis of management recommendations for Kukup Beach. The aim of the research is to analyze tourism demand for managing marine ecotourism at Kukup Beach. The research was conducted in May 2023 at Kukup Beach using a structured questionnaire data collection method and the number of respondents was 103 people. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression statistics and descriptive analysis of ecotourism development. The results obtained are that the characteristics of Kukup beach tourists form a pattern with dominant tourists of productive age (18-30 years), female with a relatively high level of education. Tourist visits are influenced by travel cost, gender, income, education, age, and distance. The tourism demand function is obtained as follows y = 6.223-5.20-07c-0.767g+1.31-06i-0.508e-0.060a-0.783d. Management of Kukup Beach tourism using Ecotourism principles pays attention to visit management considering the characteristics of young tourists, it applies travel rules in accordance with conservation principles. In this way, Kukup Beach ecotourism management can develop and be sustainable.

Abstract

Krambilsawit Village is one of the villages in Saptosari District, Gunung Kidul, categorized as extremely poor despite its tourism potential. Additionally, issues with accessibility, water resources, and electricity render Kambilsawit Village disadvantaged. The aim of this community service is to enhance the capacity of human resources in Kambilsawit Village while implementing appropriate technology to develop local tourism potential. The service took place at the Bedalo Hamlet Hall on Sunday, November 5, 2023, with 15 members of the Pokdarwis Karya Samudra participating in the training. Implementation methods included socialization, training, and counseling on tourism management and awareness, as well as assistance in implementing appropriate technology (TTG). Participants demonstrated high enthusiasm, stating that the activity was highly beneficial and helped broaden their perspectives. The TTG application, comprising a gazebo constructed from natural materials, solar panels, quisdisc, and social media for local tourism development, addressed local issues such as electricity availability, tourism management, and visitor influx, achieving a 100% success rate.

Abstract

Tourist satisfaction serves as a crucial indicator of successful tourism development. It is imperative for managers to periodically assess the tourism facilities to gauge the destinations' quality through the visitors' perspective. Therefore, this study endeavors to assess the level of tourist satisfaction regarding the tourism facilities at Slili Beach. A total of 100 respondents participated in the questionnaire, which was subsequently analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The findings revealed that tourists exhibited dissatisfaction with public toilet facilities and trash bins, with percentages of 42.25% and 38.75%, respectively. Conversely, tourists expressed contentment with rest area facilities, parking, and places of worship, with percentages of 51.34%, 47.71%, and 45.5%, respectively. However, the availability of disabled facilities left 61.5% of tourists significantly dissatisfied. These findings underscore the need for managers to address the discrepancies between tourists' expectations and the actual offerings at Slili Beach. Consequently, there is a pressing need for managers to enhance the quality of tourism facilities to ensure and bolster tourist satisfaction. Furthermore, future research endeavors could explore the correlation between tourist satisfaction and the inclination to revisit, providing managers with compelling reasons to continually improve the quality of facilities at marine tourism destinations.

Abstract

Pantai Drini merupakan salah satu pantai potensial yang terletak di Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. Pengelolaan di Pantai Drini sebagai destinasi wisata bahari komersil selama ini dilakukan secara Community Based Marine Tourism (CBMT) atau pengelolaan potensi wisata bahari yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat lokal. Terdapat kelebihan dan kelemahan pada pengelolaan berbasis masyarakat. Secara ekonomi memang pendapatan seutuhnya masuk ke masyarakat, namun terdapat masalah apabila pendapatan dari kegiatan wisata tidak merata, bahkan tidak memperhatikan kepuasan wisatawan dan kelestarian lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merumuskan strategi pengelolaan Pantai Drini dengan menganalisis potensi dan ancaman yang ada di kawasan Pantai Drini, berikut kekuatan dan kelemahan pengelolaan yang telah dilakukan saat ini. Penelitian dilakukan di Pantai Drini pada bulan April 2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif analisis dan dokumentasi serta interview/wawancara dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling kepada pengelola Pantai Drini. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, dan Treathness). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perhitungan bobot dan skor Matriks IFAS dan EFAS yang merujuk pada Kuadran I. Strategi pengelolaan Pantai Drini yang dirumuskan dengan analisis faktor internal dan eksternal meliputi promosi menggunakan media sosial secara masif dan terstruktur, meningkatkan fasilitas tambahan berbasis alam untuk menarik pengunjung, menyisihkan tiket masuk untuk konservasi dan pelestarian pantai, pelibatan peran pemerintah dalam mengelola dan mengatur kegiatan wisata di Pantai Drini. Implementasi strategi pengelolaan yang tawarkan harapannya dapat mengembangkan pengelolaan Pantai Drini secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Waste management issues in rural locations differ from those in metropolitan ones. Unmanaged waste has the potential to harm the rural environment. Understanding the generation and characteristics of household and household-related waste is the starting point for planning waste management. Accurate measurement of waste generation and characteristics helps optimize waste reduction and recycling efforts. Therefore, this study aims to measure the waste generation and characteristics in rural areas using the Indonesia National Standard 19-3964-1994 method. The survey team visited 60 samples of residential and non-residential properties in the Tanjungsari Sub-district for eight consecutive days. Based on the results, the waste generation was 0.34 kg person-1 day-1. Organic waste (food waste, leaves, paper, and wood) accounts for the majority of garbage (81,34%), followed by inorganic materials (plastic, fabric, other materials, metal, and glass) at 15.66%, 1.86%, 0.91%, 0.12%, 0.11% respectively. The residential waste density is 196.1 kg m-3, while in non-residential areas is 63.63 kg m-3. Family size and income, living habits, and the type of economy or industry that develops have influenced the rural waste generation and composition. Rural waste management strategies need to consider organic waste as a raw material in composting or fermentation.

Abstract

Kalakijo is one of the tourist villages in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, which has a featured attraction, namely Ingkung Ayam as a traditional culinary product. In its development, food waste from the culinary sector is one of the main problems in this village because it is still conventionally disposed of and not processed sustainably. The closure of the Piyungan landfill has resulted in an accumulation of food waste that should be the responsibility of the village, but limited resources for food waste processing pose a difficulty for the local community. This situation presents the potential for waste generation that disrupts environmental sustainability and tourism activities in Kalakijo. This community service activity aims to provide training to local communities in sustainable tourism governance. At this stage, activities are carried out through direct observation and training methods using Adult Learning principles. The result of the community service is an increased understanding among the Kalakijo community of sustainable tourism through the utilization of waste from tourism activities into something valuable and beneficial for the environment and society. Kalakijo merupakan salah satu desa wisata di Kabupaten Bantul, Yogyakarta yang mempunyai daya tarik unggulan yaitu Ingkung Ayam sebagai produk kuliner tradisional. Dalam perkembangannya, sisa makanan dari kuliner tersebut menjadi salah satu permasalahan utama di desa ini karena masih secara konvensional dibuang dan tidak diolah secara berkelanjutan. Penutupan TPA Piyungan mengakibatkan penumpukan sampah makanan yang harus menjadi tanggung jawab desa, namun keterbatasan sumber daya dalam pengolahan sampah makanan menjadi kesulitan yang dialami masyarakat setempat. Hal tersebut memberikan potensi timbulan sampah yang mengakibatkan terganggunya keberlanjutan lingkungan dan kegiatan pariwisata di Kalakijo. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat setempat dalam tata kelola pariwisata berkelanjutan. Pada tahap ini, kegiatan dilakukan melalui metode observasi langsung dan pelatihan menggunakan prinsip Pembelajaran Orang Dewasa (POD). Hasil dari pengabdian adalah pemahaman masyarakat Kalakijo terhadap pariwisata berkelanjutan melalui pemanfaatan sampah dari kegiatan pariwisata menjadi sesuatu yang bernilai dan bermanfaat bagi lingkungan dan masyarakat.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kawasan wisata Goa Jepang di Kalurahan Seloharjo, Bantul merupakan kawasan yang sarat akan nilai sejarah, budaya dan keindahan alam. Namun demikian, kawasan ini juga memiliki beberapa tantangan signifikan terkait kebencanaan dalam pengembangan pariwisata. Pengelola serta masyarakat di sekitar kawasan wisata perlu membekali diri dengan pengetahuan kebencanaan agar dapat meminimalisir kerugian ketika terjadi bencana di masa mendatang. Pelatihan mitigasi bencana menjadi salah satu upaya preventif untuk membekali kelompok masyarakat terdampak dengan pengetahuan terkait kebencanaan. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membentuk kelompok masyarakat yang tangguh bencana dan memiliki kemampuan mandiri dalam penanggulangan bencana. Metode yang digunakan dalam mencapai tujuan dari pelatihan ini yaitu metode ceramah dan diskusi kelompok di dalam kelas. Tahapan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu identifikasi kebutuhan, desain program, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi penilaian pelatihan. Hasil dari pelatihan adalah pemahaman Pokdarwis Seloharjo dan Kelompok Wanita Tani Ngentak terkait pengelolaan wisata ramah bencana melalui upaya mitigasi bencana. Pelatihan ini perlu ditindaklanjuti dengan fasilitasi teknologi tepat guna berupa sistem peringatan dini (early warning system) bencana yang dipasang di kawasan wisata Goa Jepang. Kata kunci: Mitigasi bencana; Pengembangan pariwisata; Pelatihan kebencanaan; Sistem peringatan dini; Wisata ramah bencana.ABSTRACT The Goa Jepang tourism area in Seloharjo sub-district, Bantul, consists of historical values, culture, and natural beauty. However, this area also faces some significant challenges related to disasters in tourism development. Managers and communities around the tourist area need to equip themselves with disaster knowledge to minimize losses when disasters occur in the future. Disaster mitigation training is one of the preventive efforts to equip affected community groups with disaster-related knowledge. This training aims to form disaster-resilient community groups and develop independent abilities in disaster management. The methods used in achieving the objectives of this training are lecture methods and group discussions in the classroom. The stages in this activity are needs identification, program design, implementation, and training assessment evaluation. The result of the training is the understanding of Pokdarwis Seloharjo and Ngentak Women Farmers Group regarding disasterfriendly tourism management through disaster mitigation efforts. This training needs to be followed up with the facilitation of appropriate technology in the form of a disaster early warning system installed in the Goa Jepang tourist area. Abstract

Wisata religi adalah jenis wisata yang tidak akan pernah surut karena setiap umat beragama membutuhkan ruang untuk memperkaya pengalaman spiritual mereka. Indonesia adalah negara yang religius. Indonesia memiliki enam agama yang diakui dengan berbagai bangunan dan situs bersejarah yang memiliki makna khusus bagi suatu agama. Taman Bintang Samudra (TBS) telah resmi dibuka sebagai daya tarik wisata religi di Bangka Belitung. Kerangka kerja produk pariwisata harus dianalisis untuk menentukan konsep wisata religi yang ditawarkan oleh TBS. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini meneliti komponen produk pariwisata, yang terdiri dari sesuatu untuk dilihat, sesuatu untuk dilakukan, dan sesuatu untuk dibeli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TBS memiliki lanskap perbukitan dengan arsitektur yang unik, empat belas patung jalan salib Yesus karya seniman, petilasan, dan kolam Bunda Maria, dan berbagai infrastruktur dengan desain yang modern. Wisatawan Katolik dapat melakukan kegiatan spiritual keagamaan untuk merayakan hari raya Katolik. Wisatawan non-Katolik dapat memperkaya pengalaman perjalanan berwisata melalui estetika patung-patung unik dan desain lanskap area ini, serta keindahan bukit-bukitnya, baik saat mereka mengikuti kegiatan tamasya maupun berswafoto. TBS tidak menawarkan produk khas yang dapat digunakan wisatawan sebagai oleh-oleh. Namun demikian, TBS menjual makanan dan minuman di kafe untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pengunjung. Konsep pengembangan wisata religi di TBS menggunakan pendekatan berbasis produk dan mendefinisikan dengan jelas pangsa pasarnya: Umat Katolik. Penelitian di masa depan harus mengukur kinerja manajemen, strategi pemasaran, karakteristik wisatawan, dan dampak pengembangan wisata religi.
