Abstract

Semangat kesetaraan gender menjadi perhatian masyarakat luas.

Abstract

Local media in Lampung demonstrated varied disaster journalism implementation during the 2024 flood coverage. Despite possessing strengths in early warning systems and ethical reporting, weaknesses persisted: coverage limited to chronological events without in-depth analysis, inadequate preparedness of educational content, and weak post-disaster rehabilitation reporting. This study examines the implementation of disaster journalism principles in flood coverage by three major Lampung online media outlets: Lampungpost.co, Radarlampung.co.id, and Tribunlampung.co.id during 2024. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a social responsibility theory framework, data were collected through content analysis of 72 news articles regarding flood (January to May 2024), in-depth interviews with editors-in-chief and coverage managers, and document review of coverage processes. The findings reveal suboptimal disaster journalism implementation across all disaster phases. The pre-disaster phase lacked comprehensive educational content. During disasters, though ethical standards were maintained, focus remained limited to chronological events. The post-disaster phase showed significant weaknesses in rehabilitation coverage and government accountability. The absence of specialized disaster journalism training emerged as a critical limiting factor. The study recommends specialist training programs, collaborative frameworks between media and disaster management agencies, and comprehensive coverage guidelines.

Abstract

This research examines how Korean pop culture, especially through the music group BTS, functions as a catalyst in influencing the religious attitudes and habits of their fans (Army) in Indonesia. Using a communication science framework, this research explores the process of intercultural communication that occurs through social media, as well as how the messages conveyed by BTS are constructed, disseminated, and interpreted by their fans. The research method used is a qualitative approach, involving in-depth interviews and participatory observation of members of the Lampung Army. Media content analysis was also carried out to understand the influence of BTS content on fans' religious attitudes and habits. The research results show that the influence of BTS and Korean pop culture creates a complex dynamic between the adoption of new cultural elements and the maintenance of existing religious values. The findings of this research provide insight into the role of communication in cultural acculturation and its impact on non-secular aspects of fans' lives, also contributing to the understanding of how media and intercultural communication can influence religious identity and practice in the era of digital globalization. These findings are important for cross-cultural studies, the sociology of religion, and communication science, and provide practical guidance for researchers and practitioners in the fields of communication and culture.

Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of da'wah through social media (social media) carried out by iGeneration, especially UIN Raden Intan Lampung students, who are users of the TikTok platform. By using a phenomenological approach and integrating the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) theory with the concept of social media "affordances,” this research aims to understand the experiences, strategies, and impacts of digital da'wah among Muslim students who use TikTok. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews, online participant observation, TikTok content analysis, and focus group discussions. The research results show that preaching content on TikTok acts as an effective stimulus, triggering cognitive and affective processes in the user (organism), which then produces a response in the form of increased religious awareness and changes in behavior. This research also reveals the critical role of TikTok affordances in shaping digital preaching practices and the ethical and theological challenges young preachers face. These findings provide in-depth insight into the transformation of da'wah practices in the digital era and the implications for Islamic education in higher education. Keywords: Digital da'wah, TikTok, iGeneration, SOR theory, media affordances, phenomenology

Abstract

This study analyzes the discourse construction of the local Lampung media, Lampung Geh, in reporting the development of the cable car in Bandar Lampung during the period of February-June 2025. The study uses Teun A. van Dijk's critical discourse analysis model. This research examines four news articles focusing on text structure (macro, superstructure, micro), social cognition, and social context. The results show that the media consistently constructs the government as a visionary actor and foreign investors as saviors, while positioning the public passively. The study also reveals the dominant ideologies at work in the text: developmentalism, which naturalizes physical development as the sole indicator of progress while ignoring social and environmental factors, and technocratism, which depoliticizes development into technical-administrative issues, excluding public participation. Both of these ideologies work simultaneously to legitimize foreign capital involvement and to close off space for criticism of contract transparency, structural dependency risks, and locally based development alternatives. The media functions more as an instrument of political development legitimacy than as a critical public space. This research contributes to the study of development communication and promotes critical literacy among the public regarding local media discourse.
