Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence pine resin production, income of tappers, and the contribution of tapping activities to household income in Gantarang Village. The research used a quantitative approach with survey methods, interviews, and direct observation of 15 respondents of pine resin tappers. Data collected included sap production, tapping costs, revenue, and income from other sectors. Analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively to evaluate the contribution of tapping to total household income. The results showed that pine resin production is influenced by internal factors such as tree health, diameter, and genetics, as well as external factors such as tapping methods and tapping location distance. The average annual income from tapping reached IDR 23,267,200, contributing 37.36% to total household income. Income from other sectors, especially agriculture, contributed more, at 62.64%. Overall, tapping activities provide significant benefits as an additional source of income for farmers, especially when facing the risk of crop failure due to climate change. The implications of this study indicate the importance of pine resin tapping as part of rural communities' income diversification. Optimizing production and accessibility of tapping locations through government support can increase the sector's contribution to the household economy, thereby supporting the economic sustainability of local communities.

Abstract

Teh Pucuk harum merupakan salah satu merek minuman teh dalam kemasan yang sedang laris dipasaran, dengan harga yang relatif murah dengan kualitas baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyebab cacat produk pada proses shrinkage (penyusutan), serta Untuk mengetahui pengaruh proses shrinkage (penyusutan) terhadap kemasan dan kualitas produk. Dengan menggunakan metode regresi linear berganda. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada PT.Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Mayora Group) Plant Bontomarannu, Gowa Sulawesi Selatan. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa Cacat produk yang terjadi akibat proses shrinkage adalah deform dan kempot. Dimana produk deform terjadi akibat proses shrinkage yang terlalu cepat yaitu 5-10 menit, sedangkan produk kempot terjadi akibat proses shrinkage yang terlalu lama yaitu 25-30 menit. Proses shrinkage dapat mempengaruhi perubahan bentuk dimensi botol, mulai dari tinggi botol, diameter 1, diameter 2, dan diameter 3, proses shrinkage juga dapat mempengaruhi produk (isi) yaitu volume akan bertambah secara visual dikarenakan kemasan menyusut. Proses shrinkage sangat berpengaruh terhadap Finish Good, dikarenakan proses shrinkage berfungsi untuk menyempurnakan bentuk/estetika kemasan Finish Good agar sesuai standar dan tidak merusak isi dalam kemasan tersebut.

Abstract

Sejak tahun 1975 tanaman kecipir sudah diprediksikan menjadi bahan hayati yang memiliki segudang manfaat di masa depan dan bernilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Penggunaan tanaman kecipir sebagai bahan panganan lokal dapat ditingkatkan lagi dengan melakukan pengembangan hasil produk olahannya. Pengembangan produk perlu diarahkan untuk menciptakan suatu produk baru yang memiliki beberapa sifat yang diminati oleh masyarakat. Maka dari itu, terdapat inovasi untuk menjadi solusi dari kurang diminatinya biji kecipir di kalangan masyarakat adalah dengan membuat produk olahan brownies maupun biskuit. Biji kecipir sebelum dijadikan sebagai adonan brownies atau biscuit dibuat menjadi tepung terlebih dahulu. Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan, yaitu untuk mengetahui daya terima panelis terhadap brownies tepung biji kecipir dengan tambahan bubuk kayu manis dan untuk mengetahui kadar protein brownies tepung biji kecipir dengan tambahan bubuk kayu manis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah uji organoleptik dengan kategori penilaian 1-5 dan pengujian kadar protein. Tambahan bubuk kayu manis terbukti berpengaruh terhadap rasa, aroma, dan tekstur pada brownies tepung kecipir. Tambahan bubuk kayu manis sebanyak 15 gr menghasilkan peningkatan kadar protein yang terkandung di dalam brownies.

Abstract

The importance of community empowerment in processing marine products, especially fish, which can be made into high-value economic products such as fish crackers. Ma'rang Village has the potential for abundant fish resources, but there is still limited community knowledge about efficient processing techniques. The purpose of this counseling is to provide understanding to the community on how to make quality fish crackers, as well as their benefits as a business opportunity. The method used was a direct counseling approach by providing materials on fish cracker making, involving local residents as participants. The counseling also included techniques for selecting fish raw materials, processing, and proper storage so that the product remains durable and has a high selling value. The results of the counseling showed that the community was enthusiastic and began to understand the process of making fish crackers with the right techniques, as well as the importance of maintaining product quality. In addition, they also gained insight into the utilization of social media to expand the market. The implication of this activity is the improvement of community skills in processing fish into processed products with economic value, as well as opening opportunities for them to develop a more competitive fish cracker business. It is hoped that this activity can continue with the provision of further training related to marketing and access to more modern production equipment to increase the competitiveness of fish cracker products in local and national markets.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) activity was carried out with the aim of providing counseling on the use of local raw materials to support independent feed needs for the Bokape Fish Farm tilapia farming group in Bontokaddopepe Village, North Galesong District, Takalar Regency. The problem faced by partners is the high price of tilapia feed sold on the market, while the need for tilapia feed must still be met in order to obtain maximum tilapia farming results. So that alternative solutions are needed to be able to create their own fish feed by utilizing available local materials, including corn. The method used is the Community Development approach method where the community plays an important role in the activities carried out. The results of this PKM activity show that 100% of partner group members agree that the training and practice that have been carried out can contribute to the growth of more optimal tilapia farming and provide new knowledge and independence in tilapia feed production for the future.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve digital literacy and facilitate the use of communication applications (such as WhatsApp and Facebook) to support group coordination and agricultural product marketing. The method used was a participatory action learning approach through three stages: an initial survey (pre-test), interactive training and simulation, and a final evaluation (post-test). Respondents were 45 people from active farmer groups in the area. The results of the activity showed an increase in average digital literacy and increased use of digital applications for agriculture. The training also encouraged the formation of farmer group WhatsApp groups and product promotion through social media. The conclusion of this activity is that contextual training and intensive mentoring can encourage digital transformation in agriculture, despite challenges such as limited devices and internet connections. Similar interventions are highly recommended for implementation in other agricultural areas.

Abstract

Kulit manggis  yang kaya antioksidan  memiliki potensi yang besar untuk diolah menjadi produk bernilai tinggi, akan tetapi barang ini seringkali dianggap limbah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan pengolahan kulit manggis sebagai upaya meningkatkan nilai ekonomisnya. Kegiatan ini melibatkan masyarakat PKK Baji Dakka, khususnya kelompok ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan pemuda, dengan harapan dapat memberikan pengetahuan baru serta keterampilan yang dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Metode FGD (Fokus Group Discussion) yang digunakan dalam sosialisasi ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu penyuluhan mengenai manfaat kulit manggis, demonstrasi cara pengolahan, serta pelatihan pembuatan produk olahan kulit manggis. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kulit manggis dapat diolah dengan berbagai macam produk, diantaranya minuman teh, jus,infus water, wedan, permen, snack, cream kecantikan, dan masker.  Mencapai 85% masyarakat yang hadir menyatakan antusiasnya dan tertarik untuk memanfaatkan kulit manggis sebagai sumber penghasilan tambahan. Berkisar 10% diantara mereka sudah mengetahui beberapa produk olahan kulit manggis. Dengan langkah-langkah lanjutan dan dukungan dari berbagai pihak, diharapkan pengolahan kulit manggis dapat menjadi usaha yang berkelanjutan dan memberikan manfaat ekonomi yang nyata bagi masyarakat setempat. Selain itu diperlukan pendampingan untuk menginisiasi terbentuknya bidang usaha mandiri masyarakat atau home industry.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is the best nutrient for babies. The impacts of not receiving exclusive breastfeeding are infection, high risk of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia, low immune system, and decreased brain development. breastfeeding reduces baby and toddler morbidity and mortality. Human milk glycans, which contain oligosaccharides in both their free and conjugated forms, are demonstrated in studies to be a component of a natural immune process that explains how human milk protects breastfed children from diarrheal illness. This study aims to analyze factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding in the work area of Bulili Public Health Center South Birobuli Subdistrict Palu. This quantitative research was conducted through a cross-sectional approach. This study involved 90 mothers with babies aged 7-12 months, which was carried out from March 2023. The sample was selected using simple random sampling based on inclusion criteria. Direct interviews were used to collect primary data, and secondary data were obtained from Indonesia's health profile, data from the Palu City Health Office 2021, and data on exclusive breastfeeding. The data were processed using the chi-square statistical test with a significance degree of α = 0.05. The results of the study were knowledge (p=0.018), attitude (p=0.001), interest in formula milk promotion (p=0.018), and family support (p=0,002). In Conclusion, there is a significant association between knowledge, attitude, interest in formula milk promotion, and family support with exclusive breastfeeding practice. It is suggested for mothers to increase knowledge, attitude, and family support by gaining information and using social media appropriately.

Abstract

Income is a person's source of income to meet daily needs which are very important for survival. The income of pine sap tappers who live in rural areas generally does not come from one source, but comes from two or more sources of income. The relatively low level of income requires household members who are potential farmers to work harder. This study was to determine the contribution of tapping pine sap to the income level of the tapping community at PT. Inhutani I, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. This research was conducted from April to May 2022. The method used was the census method. The number of samples consisted of 20 heads of families with pine sap tappers status. This study uses primary data and secondary data. Collecting data through field surveys and data collection techniques using observation, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis used in this research is qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the average income of pine resin tappers in the pine forest area. Pine sap income Rp. 2.030.000/month, other sector income Rp. 1.365.000/month, and the total income of the tappers is Rp. 3.395.000/month. Then the total income of pine resin tappers is Rp. 3.395.000/month, the contribution of pine resin tappers is 59.79%/month. With pine resin income of Rp. 2.030.000/month, people in pine forest area. And the income contribution of tappers is Rp. 1.745.000/month, or 59.79% with a total income of Rp. 3.395.000/month, and the components needed for tappers are Rp. 1.650.000/month. The need for direction and guidance from PT. Inhutani I Gowa to the community to be enthusiastic and participate in increasing the production of pine resin in order to meet the set targets, and this is useful for the company because the production of sap increases, the income of the community also increases.
