Abstract

This study aims to determine how the implementation of teacher professional development efforts and the government and/or related agencies' participation in supporting teacher professional improvement can formulate sustainable professional development efforts in improving the professionalism of high school geography teachers in Brebes Regency. This evaluation study used the discrepancy model. The method used was descriptive quantitative and analyzed using percentage descriptive techniques. The data in this evaluation study were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The sample in this study consisted of 30 high school Geography teachers in Brebes Regency, while the sampling technique used was disproportionate stratified random sampling. Regardless of the results of the study that Geography teachers had a good understanding of the duties and obligations that had to be fulfilled as professional teachers, that efforts for sustainable professional development had not been fully implemented properly. The result shows that the Sustainable Professional Development efforts carried out by Geography teachers are in the criteria of “Good Enough” with an average score of 66.83 (out of a maximum score of 120). From several programs supporting the teachers’ professional development, only a few programs are routinely carried out by Geography teachers, including internal coaching by supervisors, Geography subject forum activities, and workshops. Besides, several professional development programs deserve special attention from the government due to the lack of teacher participation, namely apprenticeships, short courses, distance learning, level training, and further education, given that some of these programs provide opportunities for teachers to update and develop their knowledge.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Perbedaan kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi UNBK antara yang melaksanakan tryout CBT dan PBT, (2) Perbedaan keefektifan tryout ujian nasional berbasis CBT dan PBT untuk siswa kelas XII dalam menghadapi UNBK. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi Eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalen Control Group Design. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik diferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Dari hasil analisis diketahui nilai Sig=0,000 (Sig0,05). Jadi, H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima yang artinya ada perbedaan kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi UNBK antara yang melaksanakan tryout CBT dan PBT. (2) Hasil pengukuran efektivitas diketahui Sig=0,000 (Sig0,05). Jadi, H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya terdapat perbedaan keefektivan tryout ujian nasional berbasis CBT dan PBT untuk siswa kelas XII dalam menghadapi UNBK.Kata Kunci: Computer-based test, Paper-based test, Tryout The effectiveness of the National Test tryout based on Computer-Based Test to support the readiness in facing UNBKAbstractThis research aims to find out: (1) The Differences in the readiness of students in facing UNBK between those who carry out CBT and PBT tryout, (2) The effectiveness differences of CBT and PBT-based national exam tryouts for class XII students in facing UNBK. This type of research is quantitative experimental research with the Quasi Experiment method with the design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data analysis technique used in this study is iferential statistics. The results of the research show that: (1) From the results of the analysis it is known that the Sig = 0,000 (Sig 0.05). So, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a difference in the readiness of students in facing UNBK between those who carry out CBT and PBT tryout. (2) The Effectiveness measurement results are known to Sig = 0,000 (Sig 0.05). So, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there are differences in the effectiveness of the national exam based CBT and PBT tryout for class XII students in dealing with UNBK.Keywords: Computer-based test, Paper-based test, Tryout

Abstract

This study aims to anticipate the loss of learning for students in the geography education field practice in the southern region of Merapi Volcano during the Covid-19 Pandemic era by developing Android-based interactive learning multimedia as a medium as well as teaching materials. The development uses the ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Product feasibility was assessed by six material and media expert lecturers and 10 geography education students as users. The result of the development is an interactive multimedia with flipped book combined with Adobe Flash Maker on Android, with the name "Merapi Volcano Imaginary". The contents of the material are geographic physical and socio-economic studies on ten study areas, namely: Tugu Yogyakarta, Lava Breccia, Sambisari Temple, Merapi Museum, Plawangan Hill, Mbah Maridjan Museum, Kaliadem Bunker, Gendol River, Museum of "Sisa Hartaku", upper River Section "Opak". The experts rated the media and material in the Excellent category. The results are the same by users for aspects: readability, cohesiveness, attractiveness, coloring, material understanding, material order, and metacognitive value. All respondents stated that multimedia was very feasible and effective as a medium and teaching material for field practice of geography education in the southern region of Merapi Volcano

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan e-learning mata kuliah Aplikasi Komputer 2 di Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Flores yang berkualitas baik dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengembangkan media pembelajaran e-learning mata kuliah Aplikasi Komputer 2 dengan menggunakan model pengembangan dari Allesi Trollip melalui tahap perencanaan, desain, dan pengembangan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan produk berupa e-learning mata kuliah Aplikasi Komputer 2. Hasil uji coba produk menunjukkan bahwa produk e-learning mata kuliah Aplikasi Komputer 2 yang dikembangkan layak dan efektif. Kelayakan mencapai hasil sangat baik ditinjau dari penilaian ahli materi dengan skor 4,31, ahli media dengan skor 3,46, dan tanggapan mahasiswa dengan skor 4,43. Keefektivan pembelajaran Aplikasi Komputer 2 menggunakan e-learning terbukti secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa dengan rerata pretest 57,38 dan posttest 85,50 sehingga perolehan hasil effect size adalah 28,13. Pencapaian ketuntasan hasil belajar pada saat pretest 56,25% tuntas  dan saat posttest 100% tuntas. Kata kunci: pengembangan, e-learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) menghasilkan m-learning yang dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran mata pelajaran geografi bagi peserta didik kelas X SMA, (2) menghasilkan m-learning yang layak untuk mata pelajaran geografi, (3) mengetahui keefektifan m-learning untuk mata pelajaran geografi, dan (4) mengetahui pengaruh m-learning dalam mendukung kemandirian dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (RD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) m-learning dibuat dengan menggunakan adobe flash cs 5.5. m-learning dikembangkan untuk pokok bahasan Hidrosfer; (2) m-learning telah memenuhi kriteria dan dinyatakan layak sebagai media pembelajaran berdasarkan validasi dengan kategori “baik”; (3) keefektifan pembelajaran geografi lebih baik dengan menggunakan m-learning dibuktikan dengan adanya ketuntasan belajar pada kelas eksperimen; (4) m-learning signifikan mendukung kemandirian dan hasil belajar peserta didik.Kata kunci: m-learning, geografi, kemandirian DEVELOPING MOBILE LEARNING TO SUPPORT INDEPENDENCE AND LEARNING OUTCOMES IN HIGH SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY LESSONAbstractThe research is aimed at: (1) producing m-learning that can be used in teaching geography subjects for students of class X SMA, (2) producing proper m-learning for Geography lesson, (3) finding out the effectiveness of m-learning in Geography lesson, and (4) detecting the m-learning effect in Geography lesson to support independent and outcomes of learning for students. This is a Research and Development type of research. The results show that: (1) m-learning designed with adobe flash cs 5.5 application is suitable for Hidrosfer lesson topic; (2) m-learning for Geography lesson has met the criteria and considered to be a proper learning media due to the fact that the validation categorizes it as “good”; (3) geography better learning effectiveness by using m-learning is evidenced by student’s mastery learning in the experimental class, and (4) m-learning geography subjects support the independence and learning outcomes of students.Keywords: m-learning, geography, independent learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran kartografi dan (2) mengetahui kelayakan multimedia pembelajaran dari aspek materi, aspek tampilan dan kelayakan untuk pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development). Produk awal divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media kemudian diujicobakan. Subjek uji coba produk adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial UNY. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data dari ahli materi, data ahli media, dan tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap daya tarik media. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar evaluasi untuk ahli materi dan ahli media, serta lembar angket untuk uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba lapangan. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) hasil pengembangan multimedia pembelajaran  melalui tahap  persiapan, desain, produksi, uji coba, dan revisi; 2) kualitas media ditinjau dari aspek materi termasuk kategori sangat baik; (3) kualitas media ditinjau dari aspek tampilan termasuk kategori  baik; (4) tanggapan mahasiswa tentang daya tarik media termasuk kriteria sangat menarik; dan (5) evaluasi hasil belajar menunjukkan lebih dari 75% mahasiswa mampu menguasai kompetensi pembelajaran menggunakan multimedia yang dikembangkan.Kata kunci: kartografi, multimedia  DEVELOPING COMPUTER-BASED INSTRUCTION MULTIMEDIA FOR CARTOGRAPHY AT GEOGRAPHY EDUCATION YOGYAKARTA STATE UNIVERSITYAbstractThis research aims: (1)to product multimedia for cartography; and (2)to reveal the quality of the developed instructional media viewed from the aspects of content, appearance, and attraction for instruction. This research is research and development. The initial product was validated by an expert in subject matter and an expert in media and then was trying out. The subject of product trials are students from the Department of Geography Education Faculty of Social Sciences Yogyakarta State University. The data were collected using an evaluation sheet for the subject matter expert, the media expert, and questionnaire sheet for the one-to-one try-out, the small group try-out, and the field try-out. The data were analyzed using the statistic descriptive technique. The research results show that: (1)the steps in developing  computer-based multi media was in some stages, namely, need analysis, design, production, try-out, and revision; (2) the quality of the developed instructional media viewed from the content aspects is very good; (3) the quality of the developed instructional media in terms of the appearance aspects is good; (4) the quality of the developed instructional media in regard to the attraction aspects is interesting; and 5) result of study explain more than 75% of students competen to received the targets of study with this multimedia.Keywords: cartography, multimedia

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran rias wajah dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa SMK kecantikan kulit kelas X yang layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran rias wajah, dan (2) mengetahui keefektifan produk multimedia pembelajaran rias wajah dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa. Model penelitian dan pengembangan ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu perencanaan, desain dan pengembangan. Proses validasi terhadap produk dilakukan dengan tahap uji alpha, uji beta dan uji coba produk. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. (a) Multimedia dikembangkan dinilai layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran ditinjau dari media, materi, dan penilaian siswa. Kelayakan tersebut dapat dilihat dari skor penilaian ahli media 4,2 kategori baik, skor ahli materi 4,9 kategori sangat baik, dan skor penilaian siswa 4,4 kategori sangat baik. (b) Multimedia pembelajaran rias wajah yang menggunakan Macromedia Flash dinilai efektif karena dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil nilai pre-test dengan rata-rata nilai 61,0 dan nilai post-test dengan rata-rata nilai 83,9. Persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa 100%. Kata kunci: multimedia, rias wajah, kecantikanDEVELOPING MULTIMEDIA IN MAKE-UP LEARNING FOR INCREASING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GRADE X STUDENTSOF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL 0F SKIN BEAUTY Abstract This research aims to: (1) product multimedia on make-up learning in increasing students’ knowledge vocational of skin beauty, and (2) know the effectivness of multimedia product on make-up learning in increasing students’ knowledge on learning process. It applied the research and development with 3 stages, i.e.: planning, design, and development. The process of validation of this product was carried out through 3 stages, i.e.: alpha testing, beta testing and product testing. The results of the study are as follows. (a) Multimedia learning developed is judged worthy tobe used as a learning in terms of media, materials, and students’ assessment. Feasibility can be seen from the expert assessment score of 4.2 in media with good category, a score of 4.9 with category expert material very good, and students’ assessment score of 4.4 with very good category. (b) Multimedia on makeup learning using Macromedia Flash is considered effective because it can increase students' knowledge. This is evidenced by the results of the pre-test with an average value of 61.0 and a post-test value with an average value of 83.9. The percentage of students’ learning mastery is 100%. Abstract

This research aims to explore the belief system that serves as a disaster mitigation strategy in preserving the local wisdom of the Baduy tribe. It is a qualitative study conducted through data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the Baduy tribe, residing in the Kendeng Mountains of Banten, faces an uneven and disaster-prone environment, including landslides, floods, forest fires, and environmental degradation. The belief system embraced by the Baduy tribe is known as “Sunda Wiwitan.” It is characterized by the presence of “pikukuh” which serves as a guidelinefor the community’s interaction with the natural environment. These “pikukuh” consist of rules that emphasize the importance of preserving the natural  environment without any alteration. The philosophy contained within the “pikukuh” includes statements such as “Lojor teu menunang dipotong, pondok teu meunang disambung”, “Gunung teu meunang dilebur, lebak teu meunang di rusak”, and “Buyut teu meunang dirobah, larangan teu meunang dirempak.” Each of these philosophies teaches the importance of preserving the environment as a form of disaster mitigation for the Baduy tribe.

Abstract

This study aims to develop GO-GIS multimedia and determine the effectiveness of GO-GIS to improve students' critical thinking skills in disaster mitigation and adaptation materials. This research refers to the ADDIE development model which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and revision. The product feasibility test was assessed by 1 media validator, 1 material validator and student responses. The results showed that (1) GO-GIS learning media was feasible to use, the results of the feasibility assessment by material experts obtained a score of 4.73, the feasibility assessment by media experts obtained a score of 4.82, the user's response in small group trials obtained an average 4.45. Score indicates very decent. (2) GO-GIS multimedia proved to be effective as a learning medium and there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class (GT = 0.50, N = 35) in the medium category when compared to the control class (GT = 0.23, N = 35) in the moderate category (GT = 0.23, N = 35) in the low. The results of the independent t-test show the sig. 0.03 (sig value < 0.05) and it can be concluded that there is a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills in disaster mitigation between the Experiment class (mean 78.57) and the control class (mean = 71.88).

Abstract

The implementation of learning innovation is crucial for 21st-century education, particularly for Generation Z and Alpha students. Additionally, experimental learning (EL) is highly beneficial for learning geography, especially on the topic of geography research. This study evaluates the potential of the Opak and Progo Watersheds as a geography laboratory. This research was conducted with a spatial approach. Data were collected by observation, literature study, interpretation of remote sensing imagery, and documentation. The garnered data were analyzed by matching, scoring, and statistical analysis. A descriptive analysis was performed to support these analyses. The results show that the Opak and Progo watersheds have the potential for learning geography. This potential is inseparable from its heterogeneity of geological, geomorphological, meteorological, and hydrological conditions. The upstream area presents more potential because it has more complex conditions, indicated by the significant difference between the upstream and downstream areas in each watershed, as well as the variation between the four sample locations covering the two watersheds. In sum, this study offers novel insights into the potential of the area for natural laboratories for geography studies, especially the laboratories based on watersheds. This study also provides alternative information regarding watershed areas as a geography learning resource.
