Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci: EVOO, Protein Urin, Tekanan Darah Background: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication that causes more than 25% of maternal deaths in Indonesia. The mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia are endothelial dysfunction and increased oxidative stress, which causes systemic vascular damage which manifests as a preeclampsia syndrome such as hypertension, proteinuria and odema. Until now, the way to treat preeclampsia is by ending pregnancy. EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) is a source of natural antioxidants from plants. EVOO has a fatty acid profile (FA) with a high ratio of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) or monounsaturated fatty acids and also a rich antioxidant content. Objective: The purpose of this study was to prove that EVOO can reduce blood pressure and protein urine in rat with preeclampsia. Methods: The research was conducted in true experimental - post test only control group design. Using 20 Rattus Novergicus heads divided into 5 groups, namely the treatment group, the negative control group (healthy pregnant rat), the positive control (pregnant rats with preeclampsia), treatment group one, treatment two and treatment three where the treatment group was preeclamptic pregnant rat given EVOO with various doses (0.5 cc, 1 cc and 2 cc).Result: The results of the statistical data analysis study showed that there was a significant difference between each dose (p = 0.000 α). The high content of polyphenols and flavonoids in EVOO will increase antioxidants which act as a counterweight to free radicals in preeclampsia.Conclution: EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) can lower blood pressure and protein urine levels in preeclampsia. Keywords: EVOO, Protein Urine, Blood Pressure

Abstract

The issue of nutrition is set as an essential point in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the SDGs targets related to nutrition is that by 2030 all forms of malnutrition in children under five must end. The incidence of malnutrition in children under five is strongly influenced by the knowledge of parents. Knowledge of nutrition is an essential provision for mothers to provide balanced nutrition for their toddlers. The purpose of the study was to prove the role of mother's knowledge regarding nutritional needs on nutritional status of children under five in Sukomulyo Village. The research design is correlational analytic approach cross sectional Data was collected on 74 mothers who have toddlers using stratified random sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the mother's knowledge about nutritional needs was mostly (50%) sufficient. Most of the nutritional status of children under five (66.2%) is good.test Spearman rank obtained the rs value of 0.405 and the p value (sig.) = 0.000 < 0.05. Researchers suggest the need for mothers of toddlers to further increase their knowledge about the nutritional needs of toddlers, so that the nutritional status of toddlers can be improved even more and can prevent malnutrition.

Abstract

Exposure to Escherichia coli during pregnancy may cause serious problems such as anemia, premature birth and an increased risk of inflammation of the lining of the brain in the fetus. Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa) is a medicinal plant that is widely known and used to treat allergies and chronic diseases. One of the compounds contained in Mahkota Dewa is flavonoids. There is certain mechanism of action of flavonoids in inhibiting bacteria namely by damaging the cytoplasmic cell wall in bacteria. This study aims to analyze the antibacterial properties of various flavonoid concentrations of Mahkota Dewa fruit (Phaleria macrocarpa) extract against Escherichia coli bacteria through a laboratory experimental study design by testing the antimicrobial potency of the well method, namely 10percent, 20percent, 40percent, 60percent, 80percent and 100percent. Statistical analysis using One-Way Anova Test showed a significant difference between changes in the concentration of flavonoids in Mahkota Dewa fruit extract and the inhibition zones towards the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria (p less than 0.05). Pearson correlation test showed a very strong relationship with a positive direction (r equals 0.874) which indicated that the higher the concentration of flavonoids in Mahkota dewa fruit extract, the stronger the antimicrobial effect. Based on the study findings, it can be concluded that the flavonoid extract in Mahkota Dewa fruit extract had an antimicrobial potential against Escherichia Coli in vitro.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that has quite high nutritional problems. Efforts to improve nutritional status must begin as early as possible, precisely starting from the fetal life period. This period is the early period of life when you are still in the womb until the first 2 years of life. The focus of handling nutritional problems is to prevent malnutrition which is a major health problem in toddlers because it can hinder the growth and development process during the First 1000 Days of Life. There is a need for knowledge regarding stunting in teenagers because teenage girls will face the pregnancy period which is important in preventing stunting. This counseling was carried out in Srigonco Village, Malang Regency. The target of this community service is all junior high school students from grade 7 to grade 9. Prior to carrying out extension activities, there is a process of preparing activities for approximately four weeks prior to implementation activities, starting from determining the type of extension to applying for permits to related parties. As a form of evaluation, the activity was attended by 35 students from grade 7 to grade 9, the participants took part in the activity with very enthusiasm, and the counseling activities ran smoothly.
