Abstract

Banten is the westernmost region of Java island that is famous for its religiosity and distinctive culture. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of the groom’s makeup for Kebesaran Banten (The Name of the Groom’s makeup) and reveal the value of Islamic education for the bride and groom. This qualitative study used Spradley’s ethnographic research approach. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results revealed that the groom of Kebesaran Banten had natural soft makeup encrusted with golden makutaraja (crown) and a necklace of jasmine on the chest. The clothes were made of red, green, or black velvet, decorated with the side cloth of the Banten Sultanate and a shoulder sash. The groom wore trousers and sandals of the same color. At the waist, a dagger and a short spear were tucked in with a jasmine flower garland. This make-up represented Islamic culture that combined Javanese Hindu, Chinese, and European cultures. The value of Islamic education was manifested in the values of faith, morals, physical, rationality, psychological, sexual, and social. This makeup could be developed as a medium for internalizing the value of Islamic education for brides in forming a happy family based on faith. Overall, this make-up depicts the husband's figure as a family leader who is faithful, visionary, hardworking, maintaining family honor, and full of love.

Abstract

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Manila has residents who live around the KBRI or are commonly called Local Staff and Home Staff. They consist of workers in the KBRI itself or independent workers. The Local Staff and Home Staff are male and female workers, however, more of them are women. They need other skills to support their main skills as workers. Unesa through the Community Service Team of the Makeup Education Study Program answers this need by providing training in nail art skills with the aim of providing capital for entrepreneurship in the beauty sector (beauty preneurship). The training is carried out using lecture, demonstration and guided practice methods. Through the training, the response obtained was positive and cooperation was established between the Local Staff and Home Staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Manila with the Makeup Education Study Program. and can improve the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity through the skills provided.

Abstract

The present study reports student activities of tahfidz al-Qur’an at a public university in East Java, Indonesia, explores obstacles in enacting tahfidz programs, and examines the relationship between tahfidz activities and academic achievement. Grounded in mixed-methods, a qualitative approach was undertaken to describe patterns of tahfidz activities and problems, whereas the quantitative one was employed to measure the relationship between tahfidz activities and academic achievement. 25 students of tahfidz programs in four faculties volunteered to participate in the study. Data were collected through interviews and academic achievement documents. Study findings expose that there were three types of tahfidz students with numerous activity patterns, i.e. giving additional memorization, muraja’ah, and memorizing fluency using talaqqi-musyafahah and tasmi’-muraja’ah methods. Another result portrays that tahfidz students’ problems relied on time management, the lack of meeting intensity between students and their ustadz/teachers, the unsupported atmosphere, and the memorization method that did not optimize multiple intelligence. This study also reveals the fact that the tahfidz activities and academic achievement had a significant correlation (p < .01). It indicates that if the activities of tahfidz al-Qur’an encouraged, the student’s learning achievement would leverage as well

Abstract

One of the ways in which teaching objectives have been achieved can be seen from the learning achievements achieved by students. Project Based Learning is an innovative, project-based, student-centered learning model. Critical thinking. Acne facial treatment is an action that is deliberately carried out for skin that has facial skin problems, including acne, oily facial skin, hyperpigmentation, and blackheads. This research aims to 1) the implementation of the learning model, 2) student learning outcomes, 3) students' ability to think critically, 4) student responses, with reference to data collection instruments 1) syntax implementation observation sheet, 2) student performance sheet, 3) critical thinking assessment sheet, 4) student response questionnaire sheet. The research used by researchers is a pre-experimental design research method using a one-shot case study research model using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this research were 29 grade 12 skin and hair beauty students who had received facial care material. The research results showed that 1) the implementation of learning syntax obtained an average of all aspects, namely 90% in the "very good" category, 2) the students' Psychomotor learning outcomes obtained an average of 82% and were categorized as "very competent", 3) the results of learning to think critical students obtained an overall average of 85% in the "very high" category, 4) student response questionnaires obtained an average of 82% in the "very good" category. Based on the research results, the application of the learning model is said to be feasible to apply to the learning process. Keywords: Learning models, critical thinking, acne facial care

Abstract

Basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum) and castor oil (Castor Oil) have potential as hair conditioner ingredients due to their content of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and fatty acids. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the ratio of these two ingredients on the organoleptic characteristics of the conditioner, including color, aroma, and panelists' preference. The method used is an experiment with independent variables consisting of the ratios of basil leaf extract and castor oil: X1 (0.5g:3.5g), X2 (1g:4g), and X3 (1.5g:4.5g). Data were collected through observations by 30 panelists and analyzed using single variance analysis and Duncan's test with SPSS 29 software. The results indicate that the ratio of basil leaf extract and castor oil significantly affects the aroma and preference of the panelists. The best combination is a conditioner with a ratio of 1g basil leaf extract to 4g castor oil.

Abstract

The activity of students in learning is still not optimal. To overcome this problem, it is important to apply the right learning model. This research aims to examine the implementation of project-based learning, as well as analyse the improvement of learning outcomes and student responses. The type of research carried out is Class Action Research (PTK). The subject of this research consists of 34 students in class X Skin and Hair Beauty at SMKN 1 Sooko, Mojokerto. Instruments used in research include: 1) observation instruments to assess the learning process; 2) test instruments that include data presentation and drawing conclusions or meaning. The results of the research show that: 1) the implementation of project-based learning took place for a maximum of two cycles, with a percentage of 100%; 2) there was a significant increase in cognitive learning results from cycle I to cycle II, namely from 15.63% to 43.75%, while the student project results also increased from 18.75% to 78.13%; 3) the student response to project-based learning showed a positive response, reflected by a decrease in the percentage in the 'less' category and an increase of 6.25% in the 'good' category, and a decrease of 5.25% in the 'less' category. In conclusion, the implementation of project-based learning has a positive impact on the improvement of student learning outcomes, and this can be seen from the better response from learners between cycle I and cycle II

Abstract

Obstacles that occur during the learning process can impact learning outcomes. Therefore, choosing the right media can facilitate and motivate students in learning. The selection of animation video-based media can boost students' enthusiasm for learning because its varied displays can capture students' attention. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of animation video-based learning media, how animation video media affects students' learning outcomes, and how students respond to the use of this media. This research uses a quantitative approach, with the research subjects being 31 students from class XI TKKR. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and questionnaires. The results are as follows: The quality of the feasibility of the animation video-based learning media received an average score of 92%, categorized as "very good." The psychomotor learning outcomes (practical) of the class XI TKKR students averaged 83.8, with 100% mastery, compared to the average KKTP score obtained from previous lessons using PowerPoint media and demonstrations, which scored 79. Students' responses received a score of 88%, categorized as "very good." Based on the research results, the development of animation video media for the topic of "ukel tekuk" hair bun is considered feasible for application in the learning process.

Abstract

The subject of Anatomy and Physiology is often considered difficult by students due to its complex terminology and less engaging teaching methods, resulting in many students scoring below the minimum competency threshold of 75. The teaching model used by educators significantly impacts learning success. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an effective approach, but maintaining student engagement and motivation remains a challenge. This study integrates PBL with the interactive media Kahoot to create a more engaging learning experience. The research focuses on the implementation of the PBL model, improvement in student achievement, and student responses. A pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted on 32 Phase E TKKR students at SMK Labschool UNESA 1 Surabaya. Data were collected through cognitive tests, observations, and questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with a t-value of 18.839 and a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. Additionally, 93% of students responded positively to the use of Kahoot, recognizing its role in enhancing interaction and providing quick feedback. Thus, the combination of PBL and Kahoot is proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes and engagement in Anatomy and Physiology lessons. Abstract

Abstract The main issue identified yourlige salon is the decline in the number of customers, which affects the salon's revenue and operational stability. This study aims to analyze customer satisfaction levels at Yourligie Salon SMK 6 Surabaya using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method. The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey design, where data is collected through questionnaires distributed to salon customers. The analysis is conducted using CSI calculations to measure customer satisfaction regarding tangible aspects, reliability, assurance, responsiveness, and empathy. The results indicate that the customer satisfaction level is 76.59%, suggesting that customers are satisfied with the services provided. The most satisfying aspects include product quality, facility comfort, and staff professionalism, while deficiencies were found in employee skills and facility completeness. In conclusion, although the salon's services are considered good, improvements are still needed in staff training and facility enhancement. Abstract

This study is motivated by the need of Muslim women for beauty care places that comply with Islamic principles. It aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic ethics in facial care services at Rumah Cantik Sehat Muslimah (RCSM) Salon in Malang, including the facilities supporting the application of Islamic ethics and consumer responses to the services provided. The research objectives are: (1) To understand the implementation of Islamic ethics in facial care services at RCSM Salon Malang, (2) To identify salon facilities that support the application of Islamic ethics at RCSM Salon Malang, (3) To assess consumer responses to the services and facilities at RCSM Salon Malang. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method. It was conducted at RCSM Salon Malang with research subjects including the owner, employees, and customers. Data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, with instruments such as observation guidelines, questionnaires, and interview guides. Data analysis was performed using techniques of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings are: (1) RCSM Salon has implemented Islamic ethical principles such as ihsan (optimalism), itqan (precision), honesty, and fairness. (2) Supporting facilities include exclusive spaces for women, halal-certified products, and prayer rooms. (3) Most consumers provided positive feedback on the services, although certain aspects, such as consistency in service time and transparency in service duration, need improvement. The conclusion of this study is that the application of Islamic ethics at RCSM Salon has successfully created services that meet the needs and values of Muslim women customers. Recommendations include enhancing employee training, ensuring service time transparency, and developing products and facilities to maintain competitiveness and service quality.Keywords: Islamic Ethics, Muslimah Salon, Facial Care, RCSM Malang, Sharia Services
