Abstract

Masyarakat Desa Balas Klumprik menghadapi sejumlah permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan aksesibilitas, pemahaman akan kebugaran serta permasalahan sampah yang cukup serius. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan mengenai pembuatan alat olahraga dari daur ulang sampah merupakan salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan, Juni-Agustus 2024 yang bertempat di Desa Balas Klumprik dengan target 30 peserta. Instrumen kegiatan adalah nilai pre-test dan post-test dengan indikator keberhasilan >50% peserta mendapatkan peningkatan poin minimal 5%. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil memenuhi indikator keberhasilan kegiatan, yaitu sebanyak 23 peserta (77%) mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan ≥5 point. Kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan terbukti berhasil dan efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service is to optimize the utilization of public facilities in Pondok Maritim RT05 RW06 Balasklumprik Wiyung Surabaya. Public facilities that have been used for urban farming so far by raising goats. Urban farming is the activity of raising livestock in and around large cities (metropolitan) or small cities to obtain food or other needs and increase income. This PKM method provides a touch of technology by creating an environmentally friendly goat pen design (Kakamraling) that has aesthetic value and does not pollute the environment (smell). The results of the community service The goat pen will be specially designed with a separator/separator system between feces and urine. Which is directly put into the container and will be harvested periodically into organic fertilizer based on cohe (animal waste) and liquid organic fertilizer (urine). The separator is in the form of a gutter that will immediately separate into storage containers. Thus, community members can increase their income from 1) raising goats, 2) selling organic cohe fertilizer, and 3) selling organic goat urine fertilizer.

Abstract

Hijab styling training for modern Muslim brides was given to 23 double track students at SMA Progresif Bumi Shalawat to foster an entrepreneurial spirit. The training was carried out using a direct learning model with a demonstration method. Assessment of training results was carried out through direct observation by two observers from Unesa. The training results were obtained for neatness of the hijab 82.4% Very good, 17.4% Good, Difficulty Level of Styling; 47.8%) Very good 52.2% Good, Suitability to Face Shape 73.9% Very good and 26.1% Good. The response of participants to the training was obtained, almost all students gave a positive response and wanted to hold another training with a different theme. In addition to being able to increase creativity through the training provided, Unesa through the Makeup Education Study Program can establish good cooperation with SMA Progresif Bumi Shalawat.

Abstract

The abundant biodiversity is a factor in the development of cosmetic formulations from natural ingredients such as facial masks. Facial masks are cosmetics that can perform cleansing, toning and nourishing. Biological ingredients that can be used to make natural facial mask formulations are raspberries and rice. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the effect of the proportion of raspberry flour and rice flour on the physical properties of powdered face masks including aroma, color, texture, and adhesion, panelist preferences. 2) the best shelf life of powdered face masks with microbiological tests. This type of research is a pre experiment. The independent variables in this study are the proportions of raspberry flour and rice flour, namely X1 (3: 7), X2 (5: 5), and X3 (7: 3). The dependent variables are physical properties including color, aroma, texture, adhesion, panelist preferences and shelf life. Data collection using the observation method carried out by 30 panelists and microbiological tests to determine the shelf life. Data were analyzed using a single Anova test and continued with Duncan's test using SPSS version 29. The results of the study showed a significant effect on the proportion of face masks X1 with a value of 2,62, X2 with a value of 2,34 and X3 with a value of 2,92. So the conclusion of this study is that the proportion of face masks X3 (7:3) has the best physical properties with an average of 2,92 and the shelf life of face masks X3 can last for 9 days with a total plate of 8,5 x 10^4 CFU/ml.

Abstract

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Manila has residents who live around the KBRI or are commonly called Local Staff and Home Staff. They consist of workers in the KBRI itself or independent workers. The Local Staff and Home Staff are male and female workers, however, more of them are women. They need other skills to support their main skills as workers. Unesa through the Community Service Team of the Makeup Education Study Program answers this need by providing training in nail art skills with the aim of providing capital for entrepreneurship in the beauty sector (beauty preneurship). The training is carried out using lecture, demonstration and guided practice methods. Through the training, the response obtained was positive and cooperation was established between the Local Staff and Home Staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Manila with the Makeup Education Study Program. and can improve the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity through the skills provided.

Abstract

Contextual, Teaching, and Learning is a learning design that connects knowledge from subjects with daily life to practice solving problems. This study aims to determine 1) the implementation of contextual, teaching, and learning syntax, 2) improvement of student’s learning outcomes of manual acne facial treatment, 3) student responses to the contextual, teaching, and learning design. It was a pre-experimental research and use pretest-posttest group design. The research subjects were students of class XI-Beauty Therapy at SMKN 1 Buduran which was carried out in 2 meetings. Data collection methode include observation results, cognitive and psychomotor learning test results, and questionnaires. The results of this research show 1) The syntax of contextual, teaching, and learning was implemented with percentage of 93.8% in the first meeting and 98.3% in the second meeting and it is in the outstanding category means the syntax is implemented well, 2) With paired t-tests on pre-test and post-test The significance value obtained (2-tailed) is 0.001, which is smaller than 0.05, which indicates that the contextual learning model has a significant difference in increasing learning outcomes in the average pre-test to post-test scores, namely from 67.3% to 89.6%. The percentage of student success rate on the psychomotor test is 100%. 3) Student responses to the application of the contextual, teaching, and learning design are shown by a percentage score of 83.3% which mean it is also in outstanding category. Based on the research results, contextual, teaching, and learning syntax was implemented and there was an improvement in student learning outcomes using the contextual learning model at both the first and second meetings with very good responses.

Abstract

The insufficient involvement of students in the academic process affect their academic performance. Therefore, peer tutoring method is selected to foster students to engage more proactively in the educational process by having them serve as peer trainers. The intent of this research is to examine the impact of peer tutoring method on student activeness, improves learning outcomes, and how students respond to the use of this method. The study employs a quantitative approach with 26 twelfth-grade students as the research subjects. The data were obtained through observation, learning outcome tests, and questionnaires, with data analysis involving mean calculations, paired sample t-tests, and one-sample t-tests. The findings of the study are as follows: 1) Student activeness received an average score of 3.57, indicating a "very good" level of engagement. 2) Analysis of learning outcomes revealed a significant distinction, with a calculated t-value of 12.640 exceeding the critical t-value of 2.06, reflecting an increase of 24.04. A one-sample t-test yielded a calculated t-value of 5.734, , also greater than the critical t-value of 2.06, confirming that the average psychomotor score of 80.88 surpassed the minimum competency criterion of 75. 3) Student responses, with an average score of 3.34, were classified as "very good." These evidence shows that the peer tutoring method is effective in enhancing learning outcomes in the study of traditional Ciwidey hairstyles at SMK Negeri 1 Lamongan. Abstract

Nail art is a form of beauty nail art that is increasingly in demand among society, especially among teenagers. Nail art skills not only provide aesthetic value, but also open up career opportunities in the beauty industry. This research aims to develop learning media for French manicure video tutorials on learning outcomes for hand care and nail coloring in the basics of beauty subjects and to determine the validity of the video media. This research method uses the 4D R&D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects in this research were 33 class x beauty and beauty students at SMKN 1 Sooko. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and questionnaires. The research method used is the R&D (Research&Development) development method with the 4D development model. The R&D (Research and Development) method is a research method that builds new product media or improves existing product media and tests product effectiveness, Sugiyono (2019). The 4D (Four D) development model is a learning device development model. This model was developed by S. Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I Semmel. The 4D development model consists of four development stages, namely: Define, Design, Development and Disseminate. The results of the research are as follows: 1) Stages of the process of developing video learning media, video tutorials that have been developed through expert validation tests and trials on student responses to get the criteria "Very Good. 2) Validation of media suitability obtained expert validation results with an average of 90% for the material aspect, 94.4% for the media aspect, and 89.4% for the language aspect, while the average result for each aspect was 90.8%. Abstract

Basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum) and castor oil (Castor Oil) have potential as hair conditioner ingredients due to their content of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and fatty acids. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the ratio of these two ingredients on the organoleptic characteristics of the conditioner, including color, aroma, and panelists' preference. The method used is an experiment with independent variables consisting of the ratios of basil leaf extract and castor oil: X1 (0.5g:3.5g), X2 (1g:4g), and X3 (1.5g:4.5g). Data were collected through observations by 30 panelists and analyzed using single variance analysis and Duncan's test with SPSS 29 software. The results indicate that the ratio of basil leaf extract and castor oil significantly affects the aroma and preference of the panelists. The best combination is a conditioner with a ratio of 1g basil leaf extract to 4g castor oil.

Abstract

Canva-based interactive learning multimedia (MPI) as a learning medium can create learning that is not repetitive, and students will not feel bored during the learning process. The type of research used is research and development (R&D). The data collection methods used were observation, questionnaires, and tests of cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes. The results showed that (1) The overall average score of media suitability level reviewed from media, material and language was 4.64 points, and the standard was "very feasible"; (2) Statistical analysis of cognitive learning outcomes shows that the learning outcomes of the initial test and the final test have significantly improved with the results of Asymp. Sig. (2 tailed) is 0.000, then the value of sig. < 0.05 indicates acceptance of the hypothesis, while the average psychomotor learning outcomes of 86 > KKTP 80 show completeness overall. (3) The results of the analysis of student responses showed the "very good" category with a percentage of 98%. The results show that Canva-based MPI is excellent for use in learning activities to improve academic achievement and improve student responses to teaching.
