Abstract

This study aims to determine students 'and teachers' perceptions of the results of developing android-based multimedia applications on poetry material for high school students in class X. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that students' perceptions of the development of application-based learning multimedia on poetry material obtained an average score of 3.82 with a decent category. The results of the assessment of Indonesian language teacher scores 4.23 in the very feasible category. Conclusion, the use of andriod-based multimedia applications is appropriate for use in poetry learning activities in high school. Keywords: Perception, Multimedia, Android-based

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the GLS program at SMP Negeri 107 Jakarta. The method used is descriptive with a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative). The results showed that: (1) Context evaluation, students, teachers and parents viewed the GLS program as needed by students; (2) input evaluation, the majority of teachers do not have adequate literacy capacity, the School Committee and parents support the GLS program, there is a Literacy Working Group Team and there is no public involvement; (3) Process evaluation, principals, teachers and education staff were involved in the 15 minute reading activity, the majority of teachers had taught the correct reading and summarizing strategies; (4) Product evaluation, the majority of students, teachers and parents feel the benefits of the GLS program, the GLS program affects learning activities, behavior, insights and skills of students. In conclusion, habituation of literacy activities in schools in the form of a 15-minute reading program, plus a literacy-rich physical environment and the use of literacy strategies in learning are proven to be able to form students' new skills. Abstract

Poetry writing activities are still considered difficult by students. The learning media used have not been able to support learning activities on poetry material. Therefore, this study aims to produce  Android-based learning media on poetry material for high school subjects. This research method adapts the ADDIE model to design a system in learning. The instruments in this study used media validation sheets and material validation sheets. The results of this study indicate that the learning media based on an Android applications is declared appropriate for use in learning. The feasibility is evidenced by the result of the assessment of media experts and material experts who state that the learning media is very accomodating and qualified. Based on these result, instructional media for writing poetry is recommended to be develop in other materials in bahasa Indonesia. AbstrakKegiatan menulis puisi masih dianggap sulit oleh siswa. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan selama ini belum mampu menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran pada materi puisi. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan sebuah media pembelajaran berbasis aplikasi android pada materi puisi untuk siswa kelas X SMA. Metode penelitian ini mengadaptasi model ADDIE untuk merancang sebuah sistem dalam pembelajaran. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar validasi media dan lembar validasi materi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran menulis puisi berbasis aplikasi android dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kelayakan tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil penilaian pakar media dan pakar materi yang menyatakan bahwa media pembelajaran  sangat  akomodatif dan berkualitas. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, media pembelajaran menulis puisi berbasis aplikasi direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan pada materi lainnya dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

 The purpose of this study is to describe the metaphor in the translation of Ajonga Yinda Malusa's manuscript by Sheikh Haji Abdul Ganiu. This research uses content analysis method (content analysis). By using Metaphor theory according to Lakoft Johnson. As the results in this research are: the shame metaphor is a noble trait of clothing that never fades, the fear metaphor is a trait that requires trepidation Referring to something that is considered to bring disaster a metaphor full of nature with the meaning of loyalty and sincerity, the metaphor of shyness not just talking and from origin, everything that will be talked about and done is looking more for it.Keywords: manuscripts; matafora; noble attributes.

Abstract

Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni turut bersinergi mewujudkan program desa binaan Universitas Negeri Jakarta di Desa Cisaat, Subang Jawa Barat sebagai desa wisata edukasi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat yang berjudul Branding Desa Wisata Edukasi Cisaat: Promosi Budaya melalui Pengembangan Konten Kreatif Cerita Lokal berbasis Media Sosial adalah mengoptimalisasi kompetensi generasi muda Desa Cisaat dalam upaya branding desa wisata edukasi melalui pelatihan promosi budaya berupa pengembangan konten kreatif cerita lokal berbasis media sosial. Hal ini dilakukan berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan dan situasi (terkait kebutuhan promosi budaya sebagai upaya penjenamaan/branding desa) melalui observasi langsung lokus pengabdian dan wawancara dengan aparatur desa serta perwakilan POK DARWIS (Kelompok Sadar Wisata) desa Cisaat, Subang Jawa Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental partisipatori, dimana para peserta pelatihan terlibat dan berpartisipasi secara aktif dalam setiap kegiatannya. Pelatihan cara mempromosikan budaya lokal melalui pengembangan produk konten kreatif cerita lokal berbasis media sosial dilakukan untuk tidak hanya menguak potensi budaya yang belum tereksplorasi mendalam, tetapi juga mengalihwahanakan cerita lokal tersebut ke dalam bentuk konten kreatif. Pada tahun pertama kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan memberikan pelatihan penulisan konten kreatif berupa narasi dan visual. Kegiatan ini diikuti peserta berusia 15-18 tahun dari kampung Cisaat dengan antusias dan menghasilkan konten kreatif mengenai cerita lokal Desa Cisaat. Kata kunci— Konten kreatif, Cerita lokal, Branding Abstract The Faculty of Language and Arts has also worked together to create a village program fostered by the Jakarta State University in Cisaat Village, Subang, West Java, as an educational tourism village. The purpose of the community service activity entitled, “Cisaat Educational Tourism Village Branding: Cultural Promotion through the Development of Social Media-based Local Stories Creative Content” is to optimize the competence of the Cisaat Village's young generation in branding educational tourism villages through cultural promotion training in the form of developing story creative content. local based social media. This was done based on a needs and situation analysis (related to the need for cultural promotion as an effort to brand/village branding) through direct observation of the locus of service and interviews with village officials and representatives of POK DARWIS (Tourism Awareness Group) Cisaat village, Subang, West Java. The method used is participatory experimental, where the trainees are involved and actively participate in each activity. Training on how to promote local culture through the development of creative content products for local stories based on social media is carried out to not only reveal cultural potentials that have not been explored in depth, but also to transform these local stories into creative content. In the first year, the activity was carried out by providing creative content writing training in the form of narrative and visual. This activity was followed by participants aged 15-18 years from Cisaat village enthusiastically and producing creative content about local stories from Cisaat Village. Keywords— Creative content, Local stories, Branding

Abstract

The purpose of writing this study is to describe how Ustaz Khalid Basalamah views the female body and what kind of patriarchal language is used by Ustaz Khalid Basalamah.  The method used is a qualitative analysis using analytical theory. The data (7-minute Youtube video transcript) was taken based on deliberate stratified sampling and analyzed using the Halliday MAK transitivity system and the three-domain interaction of JR Martin and PRR White's valuation theory. It was found that from the language of Khalid Basalamah's lectures, the discourse on the female body was operationalized based on the idea of tabarruj in Islam. This operation largely spreads relational processes and negative evaluations in intensive heteroglossia expression. Basalamah, in her talk, assesses women's behavior through the purpose of women dressing up and embellishing; patriarchal language towards women's bodies in her lectures uses more material processes, followed by relational processes. With this Basalamah places women's bodies as an important discourse to be supervised and controlled by men. Furthermore, it means that men have power over women's bodies, while women must obey their husbands.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance and feasibility of Warahan's teaching materials in developing character education values for language classes. This study used a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. The data was taken from the warahan literature, still developing in the Jabung Lampung community, with as many as seven warahan stories. Data were collected through observation and interviews with seven community leaders, traditional leaders, and ten language teachers at secondary schools in Jabung regarding their understanding of warahan oral literature. Data analysis techniques included (1) problem formulation, (2) selection or categorization of data sources, (3) elaboration of data categories based on operational definitions, (4) reliability checking, (5) data analysis, research, reports, and evaluation of research results. From the results of data analysis, it is concluded that written and oral literature is appropriate for use as teaching material in language classes and is relevant to current conditions in developing character education values that the government has set. Of the seven warahan stories analyzed, three main values were found in character education: religious, social, and humanist values (humanity). Of the three main character education values, 17 were found, including religious, sacrifice, polytheistic, mutual respect, trust, patience, lack of sympathy, courage, unyielding, and careless values. Value of Pride, Value of Caring, Value of Not Caring, Value of Cooperation, Value of Honesty, Value of Responsibility, and Value of Innovation and Creativity.

Abstract

This study aimed to explain and describe (1) the speech acts used in the conversation between lecturers and students in English Literature Course; and (2) the intentions behind the conversation between lecturers and students in English Literature Course. This study used a qualitative research method. Data collection was analyzed using listening and note-taking techniques. The analysis technique was implemented using the flowing technique. The results of this study can be concluded as follows: (1) lecturers and students used locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary speech acts in learning; (2) the purposes contained behind the lecturers' and students' utterances, among others: to instruct, motivate, clarify, reinforce, entertain, and conclude. Thus, the conversations between lecturers and students used direct and indirect speech acts in English Literature Course.

Abstract

Abstract Cilimus Village, Cisaat Village, Subang, West Java has been declared a Language and Arts Village through the area program under the supervision of Jakarta State University. The Fine ArtsEducation study program responded to this by inviting the English Literature study program to collaborate. The need for new performing arts is the root of the problem in Cilimus village, the aim is to prepare Cilimus village as a Language and Arts village through a new performance that has the uniqueness of Cisaat village, Subang, West Java. This activity is a continuation of the previous year's community services which produced a positive response among the young generation ofCisaat village. The concept of kamishibai originated from Japanese speaking techniques and media which were later adopted into a new performing art. This has been tested in previous activities using participatory experimental methods. However, in this activity the participants consisted of the young generation of Cilimus village aged 15-18 years. Abstrak Kampung Cilimus Desa Cisaat, Subang Jawa Barat telah dicanangkan sebagai kampung Bahasa dan Seni melalui program wilayah binaan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Rupa merespon hal tersebut dengan mengajak prodi Sastra Inggris untuk kolaborasi. Kebutuhan seni pertunjukan baru menjadi akar permasalahan dari kampung Cilimus bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan kampung Cilimus sebagai kampung Bahasa dan Seni melalui sebuah pertunjukan baru yang memiliki kekhas-an desa Cisaat, Subang-Jawa Barat. Kegiatan ini merupakan lanjutan pengabdian pada masyarakat tahun sebelumnya yang menghasilkan respon positif di generasi muda desa Cisaat. Konsep kamishibai bermula dari teknik dan media bertutur di Jepang yang kemudian diadopsi menjadi sebuah seni pertunjukan baru. Hal ini telah diujicobakan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimental partisipatori. Namun, pada kegiatan kali ini para peserta yang terdiri dari generasi muda kampung Cilimus berumur 15-18 tahun.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the linguistic patterns employed by Mamah Dedeh in her lectures pertaining to the domestication of women, with a focus on assessing the language utilized. Two lectures were delivered by Mamah Dedeh, with each preaching having a duration of 4 minutes and 24 seconds and 3 minutes and 15 seconds, respectively. These lectures were recorded utilizing the stratified intentional sampling method amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis of the data involved the utilization of Halliday's transitivity theory and Martin and White's language evaluation theory, with the data presented in the form of transcripts of the two video lectures. The study revealed that Preaching I predominantly employed material and verbal mechanisms to communicate a message urging spouses to actively engage in domestic tasks. Consequently, as demonstrated by the second lecturer, it was established that the wife can contribute to the household's financial stability through employment.
