Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of digitization in the documentation of nursing care for community nurses in home care services. Involving aspects of implementation, benefits and barriers in using electronic nursing documentation. The method used was using electronic databases such as Ebsco, Scopus, Proquest, and PubMed published between 2020-2023. Based on the initial search, there were 8 relevant articles out of 320 articles found. The results showed that the implementation of electronic nursing care documentation has a positive impact on patients, nurses and health services. However, several obstacles were found, namely the skills and knowledge of nurses on electronic documentation are still lacking, so training is needed. Internet network constraints are also very influential, especially in rural areas. In conclusion, there is a gap between the need for internet and internet distribution which is a challenge for the government in developing digitalization in the health sector and improving nurses' skills in electronic documentation. Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of breathing exercises in improving asthma control and quality of life in adult asthma patients. The research method used was a systematic review with a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design. Searching for articles uses four databases, namely: CINAHL, PubMed, SAGE, and Scopus, from 1 September 2017 to 28 February 2021. The research results were 239 articles, 11 of which met the criteria. Breathing exercises given to asthma patients vary from breathing exercises carried out as a single intervention or combined intervention. Breathing exercises for asthma patients include yoga, inspiratory muscle exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, diaphragmatic breathing, slow breathing, and controlled breath holding. This intervention is a type of breathing exercise that significantly affects asthma control and the quality of life of asthma patients. In conclusion, breathing exercises are a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used in clinical practice to help patients manage asthma control and improve their quality of life in addition to pharmacological treatment. Abstract

Mother’s nutritional status during pregnancy can affect fetal growth and development. This study was aimed to analyse the association between maternal factors and neonate anthropometry. This retrospective cross-sectional study involved 155 mothers of 12-23 months old children, who lived in Surabaya City, Indonesia. The independent variables were the mother’s nutritional behaviour, food belief, BMI, ANC visits, educational level, and monthly income. While the dependent were neonate’s birth weight and length. Data were gathered from questionnaire and MCH Handbook. Data were analysed using chi-square (P<0.05). Mother’s body mass index (p=0.003; C=0.235), antenatal care visits (p=0.014; C=0.193), and educational level (p=0.048; C=0.241) were associated with neonate’s birth weight. Mother’s monthly income associated with neonate’s birth length (p=0.022; C=0.181). Mother’s condition during pregnancy correlated with neonate anthropometry. Health promotion to promote regular antenatal care visits were needed to ensure mothers’ nutrition, to support optimal fetal development.

Abstract

Background: Anemia prevention in pregnant women is essential to reduce health risks for both mother and fetus. This study aimed to develop a self-regulation model for anemia prevention behavior based on the Health Promotion Model. Methods: An explanatory design with a cross-sectional approach was applied to 115 pregnant women attending health centers in Surabaya, selected through cluster sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SEM-PLS. Results: The findings showed that anemia prevention behavior was significantly influenced by behavioral self-regulation (T=2.945) through personal regulation (T=5.932), which was shaped by environmental self-regulation (T=8.611) and individual characteristics (T=3.302). Commitment did not directly affect anemia prevention behavior (T=0.144; p=0.886). The model demonstrated substantial explanatory power, with R² values of 71.9% for behavioral self-regulation and 43.1% for anemia prevention behavior. Predictive relevance (Q² > 0) confirmed the model’s robustness across different contexts. Conclusion: This study highlights the pivotal role of self-regulation processes in shaping anemia prevention behavior. The model can serve as a framework for nursing interventions to strengthen self-regulation among pregnant women and improve maternal and fetal health outcomes.
