Abstract

Soft shell crab farming has been practiced in south-east Asian countries such as Indonesia. Soft shell crabs are harvested when they have just molted to prevent their shells from being hardened. An issue arises when feeding the crabs. Farmers need to feed the crabs 5% food of their body weight. However, farmers sometimes provide incorrect amounts of food to the crabs. If farmers feed the crab exceeding the required amounts of food, it causes food wastage and dirty water in the crabs’ cage. On the other hand, less amounts of food causes slow growth and molting of the crabs. In this study, we developed an automated feeding system for properly feeding of soft-shell crabs. The automated feeding system schedules the feeding time and controls the portion of food using a microcontroller. We also developed a web-based monitoring system to monitor and generate alert message to farmers to make sure that feeding process runs properly.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology makes the world of education must continue to be dynamic and develop in order to produce adaptive and competent generations. Previously in conventional teaching methods, the material was taught by the teacher to students in the classroom orally or by telling students to read books to watch videos. However, with the online school method in Metaverse, it is hoped that it can provide clear explanations regarding material that is difficult to explain through books or videos. Metaverse is a future technology in the form of a virtual space where people from all over the world can gather and communicate using virtual technology. With the presence of a virtual world like this Metaverse, the world of education will be greatly helped. For example, when learning takes place, students can see firsthand how the machine works without having to cut it, the anatomy of the body without having to cut live animals or visiting a historical place without having to flock to ride buses all the way to the place they want to go, see phenomena and direct natural disasters, or even school buildings can also be built majestically in the Metaverse world. There are so many conveniences that we find when we use the Metaverse as a learning innovation in the future. Community service carried out at Madrasah Aliyah Al Hidayah, aims to provide insight into educational applications that will be used in the Metaverse so as to facilitate interaction between teachers at MA Al Hidayah and students, as well as provide enormous opportunities, especially for matters related to the world of education. , internet design and gaming. This community service is also a place to socialize research results at the Department of Informatics Engineering, namely Metaverse in the field of education. The results of the service showed that the level of understanding of the training participants increased significantly on the importance of Metaverse education.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the utilization (individual impact) of academic information systems at Hasanuddin University using the DeLone and McLean information system success model. This model has seven hypotheses to examine the construct relationships including system quality predicts user satisfaction (H1), information quality predicts user satisfaction (H2), system quality predicts actual use (H3), information quality predicts actual use (H4), user satisfaction predicts actual use (H5a), actual use predicts user satisfaction (H5b), user satisfaction predicts individual impact (H6), and actual use predicts individual impact (H7). We use structural equation modeling with Partial Least Square technique. The results show that H1, H2, H6, H7 have a significant positive impact and the remaining hypothesis have no significant positive impact. In conclusion, indicators that influence the effectiveness of using the system are on the system quality variable and the quality of information with the greatest influence on the quality of information.

Abstract

Soft crab is an export product where foreign demand is much higher than production. In the production of soft crabs, it is done by keeping the crabs individually in a crab box which is placed in the pond until they molt. Molting is a natural process of molting, i.e. removing the old tough skin for growth purposes. Shortly after molting, the new crab shells are still very soft and will harden again after water absorption occurs. Therefore it is important to monitor molting crabs to help farmers in the cultivation of soft shell crabs. The number of crab datasets is 1060 which consists of 1000 training data and 60 testing data. There are several popular image classification algorithms, namely K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest Classifier (RFC). KNN, SVM, and RFC are classification algorithms from Machine Learning. This study aims to compare the performance of the three algorithms so that the performance of the three algorithms is known. Several parameters are used to configure the KNN, SVM, and RFC algorithms. From the results of the trials conducted, KNN has the best performance with 98.33% accuracy, 98.33% precision, 98.38% recall, and 98.38% F1 Score.

Abstract

Hard soil layers can impact the loading, stability, and behavior of structures in the geotechnical field. Comprehensive understanding of the depth and properties of hard soil layers can aid in designing suitable structures. Therefore, this study employed the resistivity geoelectric and Cone Penetration Test (CPT) methods to map the features of hard soil layers. Resistivity data were acquired through measurements utilizing the geoelectric method, while data on cone resistance, shear resistance, and friction ratio were gathered through field measurements using the CPT tool. The collected data was analyzed comprehensively to obtain a complete understanding of soil conditions. Based on resistivity values, the results indicated the research site comprises alluvium, very dry clay, and dry sandy soil. Based on the CPT test, it is determined that the layers contain mixtures of fine-grained soils, clay, silt, and sand. Therefore, it can be inferred that the dense sand lithology constitutes the hard soil layer geologically. The employment of both approaches delivers supplementary details on soil features and depth.

Abstract

The global community is currently facing a critical situation with the widespread transmission of the Covid-19 virus. The rapid increase in Covid-19 cases has necessitated immediate action and treatment. As the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended, maintaining a minimum distance of one meter between individuals is an effective preventive measure to avoid transmission through respiratory droplets. To address this issue, this paper introduces a cost-effective design and implementation of a wearable wireless sensor network using the ESP32 microcontroller and Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) technology that promotes physical distancing and contact tracing to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. In this research, we have determined that the safe distance between individuals is 1.5 meters. Proximity testing has indicated that an RSSI value of -62 dBm corresponds to a distance below 1.5 meters. Hence, we set -62 dBm as the distance threshold between wearable devices to ensure safe physical distancing. These wearable wireless sensor network devices are intended to assist individuals in maintaining a safe distance from others, thereby reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
