Abstract

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a life-saving skill that can significantly increase survival rates in an emergency. Medical professionals, health students, and trained lay people must all perform high-quality CPR. As an outcome, effective CPR training using instruments that support the achievement of high-quality CPR is essential. Objective: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of feedback provided via mobile devices in measuring the quality of CPR training. Method: Design used systematic review with reference to the PRISMA Statement Guidelines 2020. Search results through database of ScienceDirect (778 articles), Wiley Online Library (765 articles), PubMed (55 articles), and ResearchGate (73 articles). The research designs of articles analyzed was randomized controlled trial which published from 2013 to 2023 with the keywords cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR training, mobile devices. The sample in this study was taken from five articles that match the inclusion criteria. JBI's critical assessment tool for assessing bias risk in randomly controlled 2023 checklist tests is used to critically evaluate the instruments used for the selected article. Results: The primary results that five publications were based on CPR quality metrics such as chest compression depth and speed, as well as the proportion of acceptable chest compression depth. Conclusions: This review discovered evidence that mobile devices have an effect on the effectiveness of real-time feedback on CPR quality in CPR training. CPR trainees received effective instant guidance from a variety of mobile devices, including smartphones and smart watches equipped with sensors.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by blood glucose (blood sugar) levels exceeding normal, namely blood sugar levels at or above 200 mg/dl and fasting blood sugar levels of 126 mg/dl. The treatment needed to manage diabetes mellitus patients is by implementing healthy living behaviors such as maintaining a diet and running a treatment program. The effects of pharmacological therapy treatment such as flatulence, nausea and dizziness. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce other alternative therapies to overcome diabetes mellitus in the elderly, namely by using dragon fruit juice therapy and diabetic foot exercise therapy. Purpose: Knowing the effect of giving dragon fruit juice combined with diabetic foot exercise therapy to overcome diabetes mellitus in the elderly. Methods: Case study by applying implementation in accordance with evidenced based practice in nursing care. After intervening by giving dragon fruit juice and diabetic foot exercise therapy for a week to two managed clients. Discussion: The results obtained for one client decreased along with being able to regulate dietary patterns while the other did not experience a decrease due to not being able to maintain dietary patterns and regulate a good diet. Conclusion: Strategies to treat diabetes mellitus using dragon fruit juice and diabetic foot exercise therapy succeeded in reducing blood glucose levels by regulating dietary patterns.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a disease characterized by an increase in systolic where the results of blood pressure measurements reach more than 140 mmHg and in diastolic reach more than 90 mmHg. The incidence of hypertension in the elderly has increased in line with the increase in age group. Overall, the incidence of hypertension among the elderly in Indonesia is 26.5%. Hypertension can cause various complications if not controlled. Not wanting to take drugs and stress are the causes of uncontrolled hypertension in the elderly. Therefore, an alternative therapy is needed to control blood pressure in the elderly, namely by soaking feet in warm water with a mixture of salt and lemongrass and finger-holding therapy. Purpose: To determine the difference in the effect of warm water foot soak therapy with a mixture of salt and lemongrass and finger grip therapy in controlling blood pressure in the elderly. Methods: The method used in this research is a case study based on evidence based practice. Discussion: Based on the results of the study showed that there was a decrease in blood pressure at systole by 37 mmHg and by 12 mmHg at diastole on Mrs. W who has been given therapeutic intervention by soaking feet in warm water with a mixture of salt and lemon grass. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in blood pressure at systole by 45 mmHg and by 13 mmHg at diastole on Mrs. P who has been given finger-held relaxation therapy. In addition, there was a decrease in Mrs.'s stress level. W, which was originally 16, became 14 (down 2 levels) and at Mrs. P which was originally 19 to 15 (down 4 levels). These results indicate that finger-hold relaxation therapy is more effective in controlling blood pressure and stress levels compared to warm water foot soak therapy with a mixture of salt and lemongrass. No negative side effects were felt by both clients during the intervention. Conclusion: Intervention finger hold relaxation therapy was more effective in controlling blood pressure and stress than warm water foot soak therapy with a mixture of salt and lemongrass.
