Abstract

In this study the important thing that was studied was about punctuation errors. Punctuation that serves to show the structure and order of words of a writing, and serves to regulate intonation, as well as pauses when reading. This study aims to: (1) describe the error of punctuation (.) On the news in the article Bangka.pos. (2) find out the punctuation error (,) on the news in the Bangka.pos article. (3) find out the punctuation error (-) on the news in the Bangka.pos article. the subject in this study was taken from data, namely news in the article Bangka. post. the objects in this study are a number of sentences that contain punctuation errors. In this particular research project, a documentation approach was used to obtain data for the research. The referential equivalent method is the approach taken to accomplish what needs to be done for this investigation.

Abstract

Folklore as part of local literature in Indonesia displays a variety of social realities. There are several social realities that are widely depicted in folklore related to gender, masculinity and cultural values. This study was conducted with the aim of theoretically describing aspects of masculinity and cultural values ​​in folklore. This study was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study approach. Based on the study, it can be seen that folk tales as part of local literary works display various aspects of gender masculinity and cultural values. The gender aspects in question can include physical, functional, sexual, emotional, intellectual, interpersonal and other personal character aspects. As for cultural values, they include the cultural values ​​of the relationship with God, nature, oneself and fellow humans.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Karya sastra memiliki peran penting dalam penguatan literasi dan pembentukan karakter siswa, namun pemanfaatan nilai moral, sosial, dan hegemoni dalam pembelajaran sastra masih belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis nilai moral, sosial, dan hegemoni dalam novel Bendera Setengah Tiang karya Annisa Lim serta kontribusinya terhadap peningkatan literasi siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data berupa kutipan teks yang merepresentasikan ketiga nilai tersebut diperoleh melalui pembacaan mendalam terhadap novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 52 kutipan nilai moral yang mencakup keberanian, solidaritas, tanggung jawab, empati, religiusitas, pengorbanan, dan keteguhan prinsip. Ditemukan pula 22 kutipan nilai sosial berupa tanggung jawab sosial, kepemimpinan, tolong-menolong, kasih sayang keluarga, dan komitmen kolektif. Selain itu, 22 kutipan merepresentasikan hegemoni melalui dominasi struktural, sanksi institusional, intimidasi, pembungkaman kebebasan pers, serta perlawanan terhadap ketidakadilan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa novel tersebut tidak hanya menghadirkan konflik sosial dan relasi kekuasaan, tetapi juga mengandung pesan moral dan sosial yang relevan sebagai bahan ajar sastra kontekstual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis, refleksi, empati, serta pembentukan karakter siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA). KATA KUNCI: Literasi; hegemoni; moral; novel; sosial.   MORAL, SOCIAL, HEGEMONIC VALUES IN BENDERA SETENGAH TIANG FOR STUDENT LITERACY   ABSTRACT: Literary works play a crucial role in enhancing students’ literacy and character development; however, the integration of moral, social, and hegemonic values in literary learning remains underexplored in secondary education. This study aims to analyze the moral, social, and hegemonic values contained in the novel Bendera Setengah Tiang by Annisa Lim and to examine their contribution to improving students’ literacy. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data consisted of textual quotations representing moral, social, and hegemonic values obtained through an in-depth reading of the novel. The findings reveal 52 quotations reflecting moral values, including courage, solidarity, responsibility, empathy, religiosity, sacrifice, and principled determination. In addition, 22 quotations embody social values such as social responsibility, leadership, mutual assistance, family affection, and collective commitment. Moreover, 22 quotations demonstrate forms of hegemony manifested through structural domination, institutional sanctions, intimidation, suppression of press freedom, and resistance to injustice. These findings indicate that the novel not only portrays social conflict and power relations but also provides meaningful moral and social messages. Therefore, the novel can serve as contextual literary teaching material to enhance students’ critical reading skills, reflective thinking, empathy, and character development in senior high school education (SMA).
