Abstract

This study aims to describe the reasoning ability at eleventh science students class of SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata on solving matrix problem in terms of field independent dan field dependent cognitive styles, so this research is a descriptive study. Sampling used a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling type so that the samples in this study were students of Eleventh Grade Science Class at SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata in the academic year 2021/2022. Methods of data collection throught the provision of reasoning ability tests and Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). The research subjects were six students consisting of one student with high field independent cognitive style, one student with moderate field independent cognitive style, one student with low field independent cognitive style, one student with high field dependent cognitive style, one student with moderate field dependent cognitive style, and one student with low field dependent cognitive style. The results showed that subjects with high field independent cognitive style had moderate reasoning abilities with scores , moderate field independent cognitive style subjects had moderate reasoning abilities with scores , subjects with low field independent cognitive style had high reasoning abilities with scores , subjects with high field dependent cognitive style has high reasoning ability with score , subject with moderate field dependent cognitive style has moderate reasoning ability with score , and subject with low field dependent cognitive style has moderate reasoning ability with score .

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of learning motivation and learning style on the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Palibelo in the Academic Year 2021/2022. The population in this study were all seventh grade students in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at Nageri 5 Palibelo Junior High School, Bima Regency, which consisted of two classes of 35 students. Determination of the sample is done by using the remote sampling technique. The data analysis technique used in this study is SPSS using descriptive statistical data analysis and inferential statistics. This researcher uses instruments in the form of questionnaires and test questions. The results showed that there was a significant effect of learning motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes with a correlation coefficient of 0.932. In the regression analysis, a constant value of 0.749 was obtained. from other factors, as well as the contribution given by 86.9%.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the mistakes made by students and the factors that cause mistakes made by students in solving algebraic form problems in terms of Polya steps. This type of research is descriptive and qualitative. The sample used was 28 students with the sampling technique used being proportionate stratified random sampling. Data collection techniques are carried out by tests and interviews. Based on the analysis of student test results, error were obtained by students in each question item, namely, errors in understanding the problem, errors in drawing up plans, errors in implementing plan, and errors in re-examining. The results showed that the percentage of mistakes made by students in the whole question was 44% errors in understanding the problem with sufficient categories, 36% errors in drafting plans with low categories, errors in implementing plan by 33% with low categories, and errors in re-examining by 61% with high category. The cause of students' mistakes in solving algebraic form questions is that students are not careful in reading the questions and in writing down their work, do not understand the questions or prerequisite materials, both the nature, formulas, or procedures for working on the questions, the desire to answer briefly to things that are known and asked. As well as students are not used to re-examining.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a monopoly game as a learning medium in class VIII opportunity material at SMPN 1 Narmada that is valid and practical. The type of research used is development research by adopting five steps in the ADDIE stage, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The sample in this study was class VIII.3, which consisted of 30 students. The data collection technique was a questionnaire to measure the validity of the media which was distributed to 5 validators namely 2 mathematics lecturers at the University of Mataram and 3 mathematics teachers at SMPN 1 Narmada and student response questionnaires which were used to measure the practicality of the media which were distributed to class VIII.3. The results showed that the calculation of the learning media validation questionnaire was declared valid based on the Aiken index category with a value of V = 0.898 and the student response questionnaire results obtained were Practical based on the practicality category with a percentage value of 76%. Based on the results of these calculations, it is stated that this learning media can already be used for learning in schools, especially in the subject of opportunities.

Abstract

Terdapat beberapa faktor penentu keberhasilan belajar mahasiswa di era new normal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji lebih jauh faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan belajar mahasiswa pendidikan matematika di era new normal. Fokus penelitian ini pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar sebagai faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan belajar mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah ex post facto. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 96 mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram semester VII tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar, kemudian data prestasi belajar diambil dari IP (indeks prestasi) semester 6 tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Dilakukan uji signifikansi pengaruh variabel-variabel dependen terhadap variabel indepen secara parsial dan simultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat digambarkan melalui persamaan Y = 1,917 + 0.508 X1. Hubungan kemandirian belajar dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat digambarkan melalui persamaan Y = 2,179 + 0,318 X2. Hubungan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat digambarkan melalui persamaan Y = 1,482 + 0,385 X1 + 0,232 X2. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh signifikan secrara parsial maupun simultan antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa di era new normal.

Abstract

Kemampuan mengkomunikasikan gagasan matematika secara tepat dan efektif merupakan salah satu tujuan dari pembelajaran matematika. Selain itu, hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran matematik salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Dimana kemampuan komunikasi matematis dapat mempermudah pertukaran informasi atau penyampaian gagasan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Sehingga terlihat pentingnya siswa menguasai kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Namun, siswa SMPN 4 Gerung terlihat memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis rendah terlihat dari hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran matematika yang tergolong kurang terutama dalam mengerjakan soal berbentuk narasi dengan permasalahan sehari-hari. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan setiap tingkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Gerung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita materi Relasi dan Fungsi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dimana instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis berupa dua butir soal uraian berbentuk soal cerita dengan materi Relasi dan Fungsi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berdasarkan indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis yaitu,  menggambar, menulis, dan menggunakan simbol matematika dan juga instrumen berupa pedoman wawancara. Data hasil tes tulis akan diperjelas dengan wawancara semi terstruktur dan dilakukan analisis data penskoran dan pemberian kategori berdasarkan pedoman penskoran. Kemudian data yang didapat akan dianalisis berdasarkan Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan didapat siswa berkemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan kategori rendah memiliki persentase terbanyak dan disusul berkategori sedang dan tinggi. Dimana dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi sebanyak 29,63% dan mampu menguasai ketiga indikator dengan kategori tinggi. Siswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis sedang sebanyak 33,33% dan mampu menguasai ketiga indikator namun tidak sempurna dengan kategori sedang. Dan siswa dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis rendah sebanyak 37,04% dan kurang bahkan tidak mampu menguasai ketiga indikator dengan dua kategori rendah dan indikator menggambar berkategori sedang.

Abstract

This community service activity is in the form of interactive quiz-making training using the Ispring and Kahoot platforms. This service activity aims to a) Provide an overview of the use of the Ispring suite and Kahoot! software applications. to create interactive quiz questions that can be used as an interesting and fun evaluation tool for students, and b) Provide training on how to create interactive quiz questions using the Ispring Suite and Kahoot! software applications. for teachers at SMAN 2 Gerung West Lombok. The method used is lectures to explain the material, followed by questions and answers and practice. The team also gave tests (pretest and posttest). From the results of the activity, a product is produced in the form of an interactive quiz made using the Ispring or Kahoot applications. In addition, there is an increase in teachers' understanding of the material provided. This can be seen from the percentage of correct answers in the pretest of 32.63%, and the results of the posttest showed the percentage of correct answers to be 64.67%. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that this community service activity is felt to be very useful in increasing the knowledge and skills of teachers on how to make interesting interactive quizzes so as to increase student enthusiasm and interest when participating in learning evaluation activities

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of reference books for junior high school mathematics learning media. For this reason, a limited trial was carried out on 6 mathematics teachers at a junior high school in Mataram. This research uses a mixed approach or Mix methods. The research instrument consists of test instruments and interview guidelines about junior high school mathematics teachers' knowledge of junior high school learning media. The results of this study are Based on the data that has been melted and the wetting that has been carried out , significant differences in knowledge before and after studying junior high school mathematics learning media books , it can be concluded that junior high school mathematics learning media books are effective in increasing teacher knowledge in learning media, especially on knowledge about the benefits and functions of learning media, types of learning media, concept maps, interactive power points, student worksheets, props, and tools for creating junior high school math learning videos.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the problem-solving ability in math word problems of the material of the system of linear equations with two variables for ninth-grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram in the academic year of 2022/2023 with high, medium, and low problem-solving abilities. This research is a descriptive-qualitative and quantitative type, using a test of problem-solving ability and interviews as research instruments. The sample consisted of 38 ninth-grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram, selected using purposive sampling. After selecting one class, a test of problem-solving ability was given, consisting of two-word problems, followed by an interview for each criterion of problem-solving ability test results. Data analysis technique was based on the results of the math problem-solving test, divided into three criteria: high, medium, and low. The results showed that (1) the problem-solving ability of ninth-grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram in solving math word problems of the material of the system of linear equations with two variables with high criteria had an average score of 85.3, (2) the problem-solving ability of ninth-grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram in solving math word problems of the material of the system of linear equations with two variables with medium criteria had an average score of 62.8, and (3) the problem-solving ability of ninth-grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram in solving math word problems of the material of the system of linear equations with two variables with low criteria had an average score of 31.9.

Abstract

The aims of this study were: 1) to describe the mistakes made by students in solving linear equations based on Watson's criteria in terms of students' thinking styles and 2) the factors that caused students to make these mistakes. This research is a qualitative descriptive study involving 29 students of class VIII D SMPN 5 Mataram as research subjects. Data on types of errors and factors that caused students to make mistakes in solving linear equation word problems were obtained through tests in the form of word problems and interview guides. The results showed that students with each type of concrete sequential, abstract sequential, concrete random, and abstract random thinking styles made mistakes that varied from the eight types of errors in Watson's criteria. Students with concrete random thinking styles make the most diverse mistakes compared to other types of thinking styles. Some of the factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving linear equation word problems are using the wrong formula, not mastering the concept of determining gradients and linear equations, lack of practice questions, not being thorough, having weak mastery of algebraic operations, unable to understand questions, ability to write mathematics low, and lack of mastery of the prerequisite material, namely point coordinate material.
