Abstract

A research has been conducted on the study of the orientation of the criystalline poly silicon solar panel installation at the University of Riau area using a series - parallel circuit. The research was conducted from June 1 to June 14 2014 using solar panels of 4 types of poly silicon criystalline that were arranged in parallel using a series - parallel circuit. From the results of this study, the optimal time and angle of the poly crystalline silicon solar panel was at 09:00 pm at coordinates 00 0 .28.661' LU 101 0 .22.554' BT with elevation angle of 129.36 0 . The power generated was 34.2907 Watt. The power generated by the solar panels was influenced by the temperature, the higher the temperature was the smaller the power generated. Power output of solar panels was influenced by weather conditions. The power generated by the solar panels in sunny weather was greater than that was on a cloudy day. The average power for 14 days was 21,17862 Watt.

Abstract

This paper describes the effect of pulse frequency on the properties of microhardness, porosity and macrostructure in GTAW welding. This study used alluminum 6061 as a base metal and without filler metal. Pulse frequency is varied from 0 Hz to 10 Hz. The macrostructure results showed the maximum penetration depth occured at pulse frequency 6 Hz, while the maximum penetration width occured when did not pulse frequency. Micro hardness testing showed that the maximum hardness occured at pulse frequency 6 Hz while the lowest hardness occured at pulse frequency 10 Hz. AA 6061 welding without metal filler produced porosity which can have an impact on the hardness of the weld metal.

Abstract

Energi memiliki peranan penting dalam perkembangan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan pertumbuhan industri baik jangka panjang maupun jangka pendek. Dengan tingkat pertumbuhan ekonomi 5,02% dan tingkat pertumbuhan penduduk 1,79% tiap tahun di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, perlu direncanakan dengan baik strategi pemenuhan energi. Pada penelitian ini akan dikaji tentang sumber energi dan kebutuhan energi di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Selain itu dilakukan pemodelan menggunakan LEAP untuk memprediksi kebutuhan energi hingga tahun 2025 di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Dari hasil penelitian didapat kebutuhan energi Kepulauan Riau didominasi oleh kebutuh Natural Gas sebesar 53% dari total 1,73 Mtoe pada tahun 2015 dan sektor pengguna paling besar adalah sektor rumah tangga dan industri. Selain itu dari hasil proyeksi penggunaan energi, tahun 2025 energi paling besar di konsumsi adalah Natural gas sebesar 0,98 Mtoe dari total 2,4 Mtoe dan sektor pengguna paling besar adalah sektor industri. Produksi Natural gas dan minyak bumi provinsi kepulauan riau menurun tiap tahunnya sehingga perlu dilakukan diversifikasi energi untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan energi di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau.

Abstract

Polishing have played an important role in the preparation of metallography testing. Poor polishing produce in an unflat and rough surface of the material, resulting an unclear metallography image that is difficult to identified. In general, the material commonly used for polishing is alumina paste. Alumina paste is expensive and takes a few minutes to produce a smooth and flat surface. In this research, polishing was done by using several metal polisher other than alumina paste, these were magic***, auto***, bras**, ki*, menze*** and pri** which are sold cheaply at supermarkets or online stores. Analysis was carried out on the surface of the polishing by these materials and the etching surface. The test results showed that the material that is polished with magic *** has the smoothest surface or has the least residual scratches compared to other materials even compared to alumina paste, but has the disadvantage of corrosion forming on some parts of the surface. The best polishing time was obtained on polishing for 3 minutes

Abstract

The need for personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of face protection has increased sharply since the spread of the covid19. Viruses that can be transmitted through droplet media can endanger health or personal who interact directly with sufferers of diseases caused by covid19. The existence of a face shield, even though it is not the only one protective device, is needed to support other equipment. Without the face shield, it will increase the likelihood the transmission of virus. The purpose of writing this journal is to explain the process of design, manufacture and planning of PPE distribution to the public From the process carried out it can be concluded that the production process goes through several stages involving human resources with product design, managerial, packaging ability and also diverse tool resources including pneumatic, CNC machines, laser cutting and computer. In terms of distribution, delivery of equipment is carried out using a variety of land, sea and air expeditions with location areas in several provinces including Central Java, East Java, West Java, West Sumatra and Riau Islands.

Abstract

High residual stress can occur in stainless steel and carbon steel weld joints due to difference of thermal expansion coefficients. Corrosion-resistant and mechanical properties of weld joint is affected by stainless steel sensitization, resulted by chromium carbide precipitation, and carbon diffusion on heat-affected zone. This study is conducted to investigate post-weld heat treatment effects of stainless steel 316 and AISI 1018 weld joint with 309L filler metal. As the post-weld heat treatment temperature rises between 400 and 700°C, the hardness value decreases. Observed microstructure of heat-affected zone shows dominance of ferrite phase which experiencing grain growth.

Abstract

Oil and gas companies are the largest users of steel pipes to produce oil and gas products from the mining, processing and distribution of ready-to-use oil and gas. Steel pipes used in the oil and gas industry can reach tens to thousands of kilometers with many welded joints every few meters. The possibility of corrosion on steel pipes is very large, so a corrosion-resistant coating is needed. Inconel material is often used as a coating material for the inside of steel pipes which is done by cladding welding. In this research, intergranular corrosion testing of the Inconel material layer as a result of cladding welding was carried out on steel pipes with filler metal UNS N06625 to determine the material's susceptibility to corrosion caused by the flow of oil and gas fluid in the pipe. The filler metals used were Ra***tna 625 and Nov***etal 625. Intergranular corrosion testing was carried out using ASTM G-28 standards. The results of the intergranular corrosion test showed that the cladding layer used filler metal for the Ra***tna 625 and Nov***etal 625 brands. No intergranular corrosion was observed, but there was uniform corrosion on the Ra***tna 625 brand with a corrosion rate of 0.46 mm/ year and 0.50 mm/year on the brand Nov***etal 625.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akses energi listrik yang aman bagi warga di kawasan Perumahan Bida garden yang hingga saat ini masih menghadapi keterbatasan infrastruktur kelistrikan. Ketiadaan tiang listrik permanen menyebabkan warga harus menggunakan instalasi kabel darurat yang tidak sesuai standar keselamatan, berisiko tinggi terhadap kebakaran kecelakaan karena listrik. Melalui program ini, tim pelaksana berkolaborasi dengan masyarakat dan pihak terkait untuk melakukan survei kebutuhan dan kondisi eksisting, merancang struktur tiang listrik yang sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan, serta melaksanakan pembangunan tiang-tiang listrik secara bertahap. Tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi survey lokasi, pengadaan material, fabrikasi tiang, pekerjaan pondasi, pemasangan tiang, instalasi kabel dan isolator, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Proses pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan pendekatan partisipatif, melibatkan warga dalam proses perencanaan, pembangunan, dan pemeliharaan pasca kegiatan. Hal ini bertujuan agar masyarakat memiliki rasa kepemilikan serta keterampilan dasar dalam perawatan instalasi listrik. Hasil dari program ini adalah tersedianya jalur distribusi listrik yang lebih aman, merata, dan sesuai standar teknis, sehingga mampu meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat serta mendorong aktivitas ekonomi lokal. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga menjadi sarana edukasi dan pemberdayaan warga mengenai pentingnya keselamatan listrik dan pemanfaatan energi secara efisien. Penguatan infrastruktur dasar seperti listrik merupakan langkah awal yang strategis untuk mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan di kawasan permukiman informal seperti Perumahan Bida garden.

Abstract

This paper discusses in depth the implementation of the Village Community Empowerment Program (P2MD) carried out on Jemare Island. The main focus of this program is the application of appropriate technology, which includes public street lighting and a water pump system, both powered by solar panels. The main objective of this initiative is to improve the quality of lighting and the provision of clean water on the island, two important aspects that are greatly needed by the local residents. Through a series of intensive observations and discussions with the local residents, the community service team was able to identify and solve various problems faced by the residents. As a result of these efforts, four street lights have been successfully installed and operated, and the water pump system has been successfully connected to the water pump machine and water storage tank. It is hoped that this initiative can have a significant positive impact on the quality of life of the residents of Jemare Island, support their business activities and economy, and provide a solution to the uneven distribution of electricity by the state electricity company (PLN). This solution is practical because it utilizes renewable energy in the form of sunlight, which is abundantly available on Jemare Island.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) for Repair Through Thickness on S355 KT0 material using the GTAW method for the root, SAW for filler and capping. The welds were repaired using gouging and grinding before undergoing repair welding with the SMAW method. The study employed experimental methods with Non-Destructive and Destructive tests following AWS D1.1 and Client Specification MHK-COMP-SPE standards. The test results indicate defect-free welds that meet AWS D1.1 standards in terms of mechanical properties such as tensile strength, bending, impact, and hardness. The tensile strength values reached 609 MPa (longitudinal specimen) and 539 MPa and 540 MPa for transverse specimens. The lowest impact test value was 139J in the fusion line +2 mm repair to original welds area. The peak hardness test value was 240 VHN in the HAZ (repair to original weld) region. The test results were also used to formulate a PQR that aligns with specific requirements. This research is expected to provide guidance for performing repair welding on S355 KT0 material.
