Abstract

Alat pengupas kacang tanah akan sangat membantu petani untuk melakukan pengolahan hasil secara kontinyu, akan tetapi alat ini memiliki kelemahan yaitu adanya getaran mekanis dan kebisingan yang muncul saat alat-alat ini beroperasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Untuk mengetahui tingkat kebisingan mesin; 2) Untuk mengetahui getaran mekanis mesin; dan 3) Untuk mengetahui tingkat keamanan operator. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental yang terdiri dari tiga perlakuan putaran yaitu P1 = 800 rpm, P2 = 1000 rpm, dan P3 = 1200 rpm. Parameter yang akan diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah getaran mekanis, frekuensi suara, kapasitas kerja, rendemen, dan efisiensi alat. Metode analisa yang digunakan adalah analisa teknis di lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data, tingkat kebisingan mesin pengupas kacang tanah pada putaran 1200 rpm (P3) yaitu 69,8 dB lebih baik daripada perlakuan P1 (800 rpm) sebesar 75,8 dB dan perlakuan P2 (1000 rpm) sebesar 72,8 dB. Ketiga nilai ini berada dibawah nilai ambang batas kebisingan 85 dB(A) dengan paparan maksimal 8 jam/hari. Getaran mekanis mesin pengupas kacang tanah pada putaran 1200 rpm (P3) yaitu 11,4 Hz lebih baik daripada perlakuan P1 (800 rpm) sebesar 13,3 Hz dan perlakuan P2 (1000 rpm) sebesar 12,4 Hz. Tingkat keamanan operator mesin pengupas kacang tanah pada kategori rendah, artinya apabila alat dipaksakan bekerja secara terus menerus maka bisa menyebabkan ketidaknyamanan operator dengan kategori getaran mekanis dan kebisingan yang mengganggu. Hal ini disebabkan oleh tingginya getaran mekanis yang dihasilkan mesin.

Abstract

The decline in the quality of cayenne pepper can be seen directly from the color change. The objective of this study was to classify classifies the quality of fresh cayenne pepper based on color changes during storage. In addition, the kinetics model of color change was also established. Samples were stored in 50 µm thick polyethylene (PE) packaging at 15°C. Then, for 14 days, the CIE L* a* b* color was taken. Control storage without packaging at room temperature was carried out as a control. Using PCA analysis, the quality of fresh cayenne pepper could be classified. This study found a more than 99% difference between the two groups of fresh cayenne pepper. PC1 explained 85.6%, PC2 13.5%, total PC 99.1% for T15°C; and PC1 81.6%, PC2 15.7%, total PC 97.3% for the control sample. The rate of color change per day for °Hue followed second-order kinetics, while Chroma and ∆E followed zero-order kinetics of 0.0008, 0.6524, and 1.0822 C-unit-1.hari-1, respectively, for T15°C samples, and 0.0027; 0.8099; and 1.8231 C-unit.hari-1 respectively for control samples.

Abstract

The Forest Area with Special Educational Purposes (KHDTK) at Muhammadiyah University of Mataram, covering 93.55 hectares, has undergone enrichment with eucalyptus and agarwood plants since 2019. In 2024, further enrichment is planned with durian, avocado, jackfruit, and longan. However, concerns have arisen regarding the suitability of the KHDTK area for durian cultivation, necessitating a land suitability evaluation. This study aims to determine the suitability classes, limiting factors, and management recommendations for durian and other selected plants. Using a rigid grid method, a soil survey and evaluation were conducted, assessing 14 parameters related to soil, climate, and land. The findings indicate that the land suitability for durian falls into class S3, with limiting factors including coarse soil texture, low levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, insufficient rainfall, and a slope of 16-30%. Recommended management strategies include the application of organic and NPK fertilizers, installation of pipe irrigation, and contour-aligned planting. Enrichment with durian in the KHDTK area is suggested to be developed. This study contributes to sustainable land management by providing scientific data for durian cultivation in KHDTK areas. In addition, the results can support the development of conservation-based agroforestry and agritourism.
