Abstract

The establishment of the latest pencak silat rules passed by PERSILAT in 2021 has led to various perceptions that lead to differences of opinion from pencak silat practitioners. The purpose of this study is to observe the perceptions of pencak silat practitioners in Indonesia about the plan to enforce the pencak silat competition regulations.  This research method uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The target subjects in the study amounted to 513 respondents which included: administrators, coaches, and pencak silat athletes throughout Indonesia, with data collection techniques using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing followed by descriptive frequency analysis. The survey on the application of pencak silat match rules in 2021 consists of: (1) knowledge of match rules, (2) training preparation; (2) athlete safety level; and (3) suggestions or input for improvement. The results showed that of the 513 respondents, more than half (89.1%) of the respondents knew about the regulations that would be applied, the rest did not know about the implementation of the latest pencak silat match regulations. Based on the level of safety of athletes from 391 respondents more than half chose a higher risk of injury or 65%. However, further research is needed related to socialization and assistance, both from administrators, coaches, athletes, and all Indonesian pencak silat practitioners.

Abstract

Abstract

Implementation of physical education is allowed to modify instructional media. Physical education requires facilities and infrastructure specifically designed to promote physical activity. The aim of this research is to develop adjustments to basketball facilities and infrastructure for children aged 10-12 years through anthropometric comparisons. This research uses simple development research because it is still in the form of an initial design. The total research sample involved was 691 people. The sample underwent height, arm span, leg length, and finger span measurements. The results are that the comparison ratio of facilities and infrastructure for adults and children aged 10-12 years is the same as the anthropometric ratio of the study sample. Sports facilities and infrastructure adjustments are indispensable to the growth and development of children aged 10-12. By providing spaces where children can engage in physical activities tailored to their age and interests, we lay the foundation for healthy lifestyles, holistic skill development, cognitive growth, and emotional well-being.

Abstract

Pencak Silat is a traditional sport that requires intense training to achieve maximum performance. Central Java's Pencak Silat Regional Training athletes undergo intensive training, often resulting in injuries. Injuries occur due to poor physical recovery and the absence of therapists to expedite the recovery process. Group 142 students from the UNS MBKM Community Service program established a Sports Massage Service to accelerate recovery after intense training. This program was implemented at the Central Java Pencak Silat Regional Training Athlete dormitory in Semarang, Central Java, specifically in Patemon village, Gunung Pati district. The service aims to provide massage services that can alleviate muscle fatigue, reduce pain, decrease the risk of injury, and maximize recovery. The method used is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). The service involved direct observation of 11 athletes and interviews with coaches. The results indicated a reduction in the average pain intensity from 5.64 to 2.73, with an average decrease of 2.91. The figure of 2.91 indicates that the pain is in the mild category. The impact of this service is reduced pain and more optimal recovery for the Central Java Pencak Silat Regional Training athletes in preparation for the Adult National Championship Pre-National Sports Week (PON). The results of this activity demonstrate that the sports massage service is effective in maximizing recovery and reducing pain after intense training.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic condition commonly caused by deficiencies in insulin secretion or activity. Chronic non-communicable diseases (DM) have emerged as a significant health problem worldwide. By 2035, approximately 9% of the world's population will have type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Solutions are needed to address further management of T2DM, including education for comprehensive care that can be provided to people with type 2 DM through Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME). This study aims to determine how patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus can reduce their blood glucose levels by applying the Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) intervention. This systematic review followed the design and outcome stages' reporting item guidelines (PRISMA). Based on the Cochrane database, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Scopus, 15,789 research articles used related keywords. The inclusion criteria were Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients, patients without severe symptoms or other complications, patients capable of self-care, studies published between 2017 and 2023 as the year of publication, full-text articles, and English-only publications. After the screening process, twelve research articles were obtained according to the inclusion criteria. The analysis method used was the descriptive method. The results of this review are described in narrative form. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) positively impacts monitoring blood glucose and HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is practical to be implemented as a support program to improve diabetes management.
