Abstract

Families are the smallest group in society that can contribute to preventing COVID-19 transmission in the new normal. Especially the role of parents in providing education in the family, especially for schoolchildren, to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of video-based family nursing therapy on family independence in preparing schoolchildren to face the new normal of COVID-19 in Bengkulu City in 2021. The design of this study is quasi-experimental with pre- and post-tests with a control group. The research was conducted in Kuala Lempuing Village, Bengkulu City, in September–December 2021. The total sample size of the study was 30 respondents for the intervention and 30 respondents for the control group. Data processing is carried out using the Paired Sample T Test because the data is normally distributed. The analysis results show a value of p = 0.000. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are significant differences in family independence in the treatment group after a video-based family nursing intervention. The results of this study recommend that community nurses can take a family nursing care approach to providing education to the community and be independent in preparing children for face-to-face learning.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan Usaha Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS) merupakan ujung tombak pemberdayaan lingkungan sekolah dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang sehat. TRIAS UKS menjadi program pokok yang harus diterapkan untuk mencapai derajat kesehatan yang maksimal bagi seluruh warga sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pendampingan kepada kader remaja sebagai pembelajaran untuk dapat menjadi teladan dalam menciptakan sekolah yang sehat dan nyaman. Pendampingan ini dilaksanakan selama satu bulan yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu pendidikan kesehatan, pelayanan kesehatan, dan menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang sehat. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan meningkatnya pemahaman para kader. Pihak sekolah diharapkan dapat memberikan dukungan penuh dan membimbing kader secara aktif dan berkelanjutan dalam melaksanakan tugasnya melalui kegiatan pelatihan yang terjadwal serta ikut andil dalam menciptakan UKS hingga mencapai stratifikasi terbaiknya. Abstract

The study has a purpose to determine obesity and heredity in diabetes mellitus case among elderly in Bengkulu. The method in this study was descriptive correlation design with the total samples were 42 elderly in Primary Health Center calls Sukamerindu, Bengkulu. The data has collected from January until March 2019. The results of unvaried study shows there were 21 people (50%) of elderly who are obese, 21 people (50%) of respondents with heredity,14 people (33.3%) with diabetes mellitus. According to the results of chi-square test, it found there was a significant correlation with obesity and genetic factor for diabetic mellitus among elderly in Bengkulu with p-value 0.003 and OR 12.667. In summary, obesity and genetic factors can increase the case of diabetes mellitus among elderly in Primary Health Center, Bengkulu. By giving an enough education and counseling by expert that will reduce the incidence of diabetes mellitus among in Primary health Center Sukamerindu, Bengkulu. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of brain Gymnastics and playing puzzles on improving the motor skills in preschool children in the work area of the Basuki Rahmad Health Center in Bengkulu. The Quantitative research design used the quasy experiment design, one group pre-post test equivalent without control design. The results of the univariate analysis with brain gymnastics and playing puzzles intervention showed the 15 respondents before doing brain gymnastics and puzzle, there were nine children (60%) experiencing motor skills deviations and after giving therapy ten children (66.7%) experienced standard motor skills. The bivariate results of the Wilcoxon test have a significant effect between before and after brain gymnastics and puzzle intervention with p-value = 0.001 on motor development at the preschool children. It can conclude that an increase in the average motor picture before and after brain gymnastics and playing puzzles interventions in the Basuki Rahmad Community Health Center in Bengkulu. Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of isometric handgrip exercise on changes in blood pressure in people with hypertension. Quasi experimental research design with two group pretest postest research design on 16 respondents. The results showed that there were changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after the isometric handgrip exercise intervention (t = 8,279, p = 0,000), (t = 6,154, p = 0,000). In conclusion, there was a difference between the decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the isometric handgrip exercise intervention group. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the effect of number puzzle intervention on increasing short memory in children with mental retardation in SDLBN 05 Bengkulu City. This study uses a quantitative approach using a Quasy Experiment design, one group pre-post test with a nonequivalent control group design. This study uses a digit forward questionnaire by remembering the numbers from front to back, the digit forward numbers are 9 digits. The results of the univariate analysis of the intervention of 10 samples 7 (30%) with a less short memory and 3 (30%) short memory samples are good and after being given number puzzle therapy, it is known that out of 10 samples 8 (80%) have a good memory and 2 (20%) with the less category. The paired test results showed that there was an effect of puzzle therapy on increasing short memory in SDLBN 05 Bengkulu City with a p-value of 0,000. In conclusion, there is an effect of number puzzle therapy intervention on increasing short memory of children with mental retardation in SDLBN 05 Bengkulu City. Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychological experiences of single parents with confirmed COVID-19. The design of this study is a phenomenological approach because what is being studied is experience. The participants involved were single parents with confirmed COVID-19, with the instrument used as an in-depth interview guide related to their psychological experiences with confirmed COVID-19. The results of this study obtained five themes, namely the transmission of covid-19 occurs due to infection from friends in the work environment and after traveling, feelings when confirmed with covid-19, single parents experience shortness of breath, anxiety, worry, fear, shaking, insomnia, headaches, and anxiety. Was. In self-care, single parents ask to be cared for independently at home by taking medicines, vitamins, herbs to maintain progress and experience changes in excessive eating patterns. This he also applies to his children so that children stay healthy. The conclusion is that single parents experience psychological problems, namely anxiety, with a moderate level when confirmed positive for COVID-19. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between religious practices of people living with HIV/AIDS. The design in this study is a descriptive-analytic study. The survey results from 153 respondents that most of the religious practices of Islam in the HIV/AIDS group were moderate 105 (68.6%). In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between the level of spiritual practice of people living with HIV/AIDS. Keywords: HIV/AIDS, Religious Practice

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of counseling on adolescent knowledge about Youth Care Health Services (PKPR) at the Bintang Terampil Orphanage, Bengkulu City. This type of research is quantitative research conducted at the Bintang Terampil Orphanage, Bengkulu City. The population observed was all 30 adolescents in the Bintang Skilled Orphanage, Bengkulu City, with a total sampling technique of selecting samples. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires containing questions to adolescents about PKPR twice to determine their pretest and posttest knowledge about PKPR. Information was obtained in the univariate and bivariate test analysis. The results showed that the average knowledge score before counseling was 8.57, and after counseling was 12.13. Adolescents' knowledge about PKPR before and after counseling was a mean value of 3.567, a standard deviation of 2.208, with a p-value of 0.005. In conclusion, there are differences in adolescent knowledge about PKPR before and after counseling. Keywords: Adolescent Knowledge, Counseling, PKPR

Abstract

This study aimed to compare blowing bubbles blades to the respiratory frequency of children with asthma in the Edelweiss Room, DR. M. Yunus Bengkulu Year 2019. The research design used was quasi-experimental research. The univariate analysis results showed that the average respiratory rate before and after super bubble blow therapy was moderate (26.91). Before and after blowing the propeller, the intermediate respiratory frequency was medium (26.69) and light (24.81). The bivariate analysis results showed an effect of blowing bubbles on respiratory frequency in children with a value of p = 0.000. In conclusion, there is no difference in superbubbles blowing therapy's effectiveness by blowing bamboo propellers in children with asthma. Keywords: Respiratory Frequency, Blow Super Bubbles
