Abstract

Implementation of mobile rack warehouse is commonly used in manufacturing industry because it can minimize the warehouse area used. Applying picking orders in taking of Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) on mobile rack warehouses could give fast loading order. This research aims to find out which algorithm is better in applying picking order sequence in mobile rack warehouse. The algorithm used is Simualted Annealing (SA) and Harmony Search (HS) algorithm. Both of these algorithms will be compared in terms of the gap with the shortest path method. The result shows that the HS algorithm produces a better solution than the SA algorithm with lower CPU time, but the convergence rate of HS is lower than that of SA.HS was able to produce a better solution than the shortest path method of 9 cases, while SA only 8 cases from 15 cases.

Abstract

This paper proposed an integrated product and process layout for optimizing process plant layout using a simulation approach. The proposed layout was compared to the existing layout in terms of the average work-in-process and the average waiting time of work-in-process. Currently, the plastic bag company uses process layout for its production facility layout and the activity of material movement is conducted in a batch fashion. In the proposed layout, product layout was utilized for two of six processes and process layout was utilized for the rest. Product layout changed material movement from batch into one piece flow with material handling conveyor. Software ProModel 7.0 was run in 1 year run-time with 10 replications. The simulation results show that the proposed layout reduces the average work-in-process and work-in-process waiting time in warehouse inspection by 97.92% and 96.82%, respectively. The proposed layout eliminates 47.42 minutes of the average waiting time in welding cutting temporary storage area.

Abstract

The demand for engineers in Indonesia has not been met with the number of professional engineers working in their respective fields. This is partly due to the low interest in engineering among students. Therefore, various programs are implemented by the government and companies to be able to introduce, educate and change perceptions on the field of engineering. This research was conducted to propose a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in order to meet these objectives. The proposed program is an educational program in the form of a workshop on residential construction using miniature houses built of real construction materials as demonstration and learning tools. The program is aimed at high school students in accordance with the goal of increasing public interests and the number of potential engineers, particularly in the field of civil engineering. The validation process of the proposed program is done by distributing questionnaires to construction companies and high school students as stakeholders in the program's execution. The validation results show that the proposed program is quite attractive to construction companies and high school students, including those who are not interested in the engineering field. The program is also deemed feasible and able to meet the goal of developing students' interest in engineering

Abstract

Taxi is one of the most common means of public transportation. Assignment of drivers to passengers in online taxi can be done by of ering passenger orders to all drivers closest to the pick-up location. This method has high time ef iciency. However, this causes an increase in the cancellation rate because drivers don't have enough time to view order details, just as long as they accept orders. This can lead to a decrease in the level of passenger satisfaction and online taxi revenue. Therefore, other factors such as driver rating, driver order cancellation rate, number of orderscompleted by drivers are important to consider in the assignment process to produce an ef icient assignment. The process of assigning drivers and passengers will be carriedout using the Goal Programming method because this methodissuitable for problems in decision making that involve morethanone goal (multi-objectives). The results showed that Goal Programming resultedinthehighest total calculation time. In addition, the average waitingtime for passengers and pick-up distance are the lowest. TheHungarian Algorithm method has a faster calculationtimecompared to the Goal Programming method, however, thenumber of assignment is lower. In addition, the average waitingtime for passengers and their pick-up distances is higher. TheRandom Assignment method has the fastest calculation timeandthe highest assignment success rate. However, the averagewaiting time for passengers and the distance to pick themupisfarabove the two comparison methods. The addition of factors otherthan time and pick-up distance in a low percentage can af ect theaverage value of these factors for the better. But, the averagepick-up time and distance is increasing.

Abstract

Blood has various uses that are very important for the human body. However, blood can only be donated in limited quantities because it can only be produced by humans. This blood donation activity is organized by the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD), one of which is UTD PMI Surabaya. UTD PMI Surabaya also produces and stores blood products and distributes them to hospitals or directly to patients who need blood. Due to the uncertain amount of blood demand, UTD PMI Surabaya needs to make predictions in order to meet the blood needs. But blood has an expiry that also needs to be considered. Meanwhile, the blood demand prediction system still uses human estimates. Therefore, an information system is needed that can assist in predicting the need for blood by considering the expiration date of the blood. The application made in this research is a web application that can assist in making predictions using the ARIMA method. Then a calculation will be carried out by considering the deterioration of the blood to determine the need for blood in the next month. Based on the test results, the application is able to predict blood needs. The ARIMA model used to predict WB blood components is ARIMA (7,0,6) with a RMSE of 58,91. While the ARIMA model used to predict the TC blood component is ARIMA (5,0,6) with a RMSE of 272,46.

Abstract

One of UTD PMI Surabaya’s task is to provide safe and quality blood when blood is needed in an emergency. The availability of blood at UTD PMI Surabaya can be erratic, because it depends on the number of donors that fluctuates and the storage time of blood is not long. Therefore, UTD PMI Surabaya needs a system to invite potential donors to meet blood needs when needed in an emergency, by minimizing blood wasted. The classification model and the creation of a recommendation system will produce a list containing donors who have been sorted by priority. Testing was carried out by dividing the data according to the conditions of the data collection environment (before the pandemic, during the pandemic and a combination of before and during the COVID-19 pandemic). The highest MRR value was obtained from the ANN model made from a combined data of 90% classification results using RBC and fake data. The accuracy value obtained from the model is 91.13% for training and 91.83% for testing. The resulting MRR value is 8.07 x 10-4 .

Abstract

Along with the development of technology in Indonesia, online taxi companies are one of the fields that are starting to be developed. Just like other companies, online taxi companies are looking for profits, to achieve it, they need to maintain good relations with their passengers. That can be achieved by improving service to loyal passengers. In this study, factors will be applied to improve service to loyal passengers and drivers such as rating, number of trips, driver’s RFM score and passenger’s RFM score. The method used to segment drivers and passengers is RFM prioritization and Filtered RFM prioritization. The method used to pair the driver and passengers is the Hungarian method. This study shows that by adding additional factors such as driver and passenger RFM scores, driver ratings, and the number of trip drivers accompanied by a passenger pick-up time limit, don’t change the assign time, waiting time, and pickup time of passenger but can prioritize passengers and drivers according to those factors. In addition, internet speed also has a huge influence on website-based order fulfillment simulations.

Abstract

Order Picking is a process to make a selection from products and picking them up from the place that products are stored and then sort the products out to fulfill the customer orders. Order picking process is the most expensive activity in the warehouse. The reason is order picking needs a lot of workforce and if order picking done manually it will cost as much as 55 % of the total cost of the warehouse. That’s why order picking is the correct part to be optimize to make warehouse become more effective and efficient. In this thesis, a web based application designed to solve all the problems above, which includes showing the shortest route to be pick for orders picking with simulated annealing method. Other than that, the application will be included with a hardware named RFID reader which can detect product placement and pickup from the shelf. The result of this thesis showed that simulated annealing algorithm able to reduce the range that are needed to order picking as much as 51.57058354 % for 100 data, 35.56569879 % for 500 data and 28.18222784% for 1000 data with fixed parameters. For the RFID reader it have the accuracy of 40% for reading products on the shelf. This is because the signals from tags clashing with each other which make the reader unable to read all of them.

Abstract

PT Citra Indah Abadi Jaya is a service company engaged in the powder coatings of aluminum and metal. The problem that occurs in companies is that there is lateness in order completion. This lateness was caused by company schedulling based on the estimation of the Production Department. Therefore, a production schedulling algorithm is needed that can minimize the maximum lateness in the company. The algorithm that will be used in this research is the Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS) and Earliest Due Date (EDD) algorithms. The SOS and EDD algorithm programs are run with Excel VBA. The eco size of the SOS algorithm is 50 with 20 replications. The results of the proposed best algorithm will be compared with schedulling the company's actual conditions. It is expected that the proposed schedulling algorithm can meet the needs of the company.
