Abstract

This study aims to develop e-module teaching materials based on problem-based learning integrated scientific literacy and demonstration videos on acid and base materials that are useful for assisting the learning process of students. This research belongs to Educational Design Research (EDR) with the Plomp development model. The research tools used are interview forms, validity, and practicality questionnaires. The electronic module is verified by six verifiers, Including three lecturers and chemistry teachers. The data shows that problem-based learning e-module teaching materials and equipped with scientific literacy along with demonstration videos are needed. The data were analyzed using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR), the Aikens'V formula, and the percentage of practicality. Analysis of the validity questionnaire data showed an average CVR score of 1 (for content validity) and Aikens' V average score of 0.88 (for construct validity). Analysis of the practicality questionnaire data showed an average score of 90% and 89% (for small group and field test practicalities). The data analysis shows that the e-module has a high level of validity and practicality. Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed electronic module teaching materials based on problem learning integrated scientific literacy and demonstration videos are valid and practical.

Abstract

The module is one of the teaching materials that is arranged as a whole and systematically. Modules based on learning models can change learning patterns from teacher center to student center. One of the learning models developed specifically for subject matter in the field of science is 5E instructional. The 5E Instructional Model consists of 5 stages namely engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration and evaluation. The purpose of this study was to develop an instructional module based on 5E chemical laws to improve the process skills of science students. The type of research conducted is research & development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The results obtained for the validity of the construct and content were 0.89 and 0.91 with the valid category. Based on the results of the teacher and student response questionnaires, an average practicality score of 86.96% and 86.10% was obtained in the very practical category. The results of the effectiveness test conducted in the experimental and control classes showed that the N-gain value for the experimental class was higher than the control class, namely 0.84 and 0.79. Based on the results of the t-test on student learning outcomes, it was found that tt < th means that the learning outcomes of classes using the 5E instructional module were significantly higher compared to classes that did not use the 5E instructional module. Therefore, it can be said that the 5E-based basic chemistry law module is valid, practical, and effective. The effectiveness of the developed module is seen from the learning outcomes of students and science process skills, so that this module can already be used in the learning process.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes students’ ability to understand and apply their conceptual knowledge to solve contextual problems. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of an acid–base module based on problem-based learning integrated with TPACK in improving the learning outcomes of Phase F senior high school (SMA/MA) students. The development model used in this research was the 4-D model. The acid–base module was validated by three chemistry lecturers and two chemistry teachers. The practicality test of the module was conducted by three chemistry teachers and 31 students. The effectiveness of the module in improving learning outcomes was analyzed using the N-gain test. The validity test was analyzed using Aiken’s V, which consisted of content and construct validity, yielding results of 0.89 and 0.91, respectively, both categorized as valid. The practicality results from teachers and students were 98.61% and 86.87%, respectively, both in the high category. The N-gain analysis resulted in a value of g = 0.79, categorized as high. Based on the hypothesis test, the calculated t-value was greater than the critical t-value. These findings confirm that the developed acid–base module based on problem-based learning integrated with TPACK is valid, practical, and effective for significantly enhancing students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop problem-based learning student worksheets integrated with ethnoscience on acid-base materials that are valid and practical. This research uses a development research method (Research and Development) with a 4-D model. The data of this study were collected through validity sheets completed by 4 validators, namely 2 chemistry lecturers and 2 chemistry teachers, and with a practicality questionnaire sheet completed by 2 chemistry teachers and by 35 students of SMAN 1 Batusangkar as respondents. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive method, using Aiken’s V. The result for content validity is 0.88 and construct validity is 0.90 with valid category. The result for teachers practicality is 0.95 and students practicality is 0.82 with practical category. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that the development of problem-based learning-based student worksheets integrated with ethnoscience on acid-base material is valid and practical.

Abstract

Acid-base is one of the important materials in chemistry learning. Based on preliminary analysis, it is known that students have not properly understood the concept of acid-base. This study aims to develop an acid-base e-module, analyze its validity, practicality, and effectiveness on critical thinking skills. This research method is development research with the Plomp development model. The e-module was validated by 5 valitadors. The practicality test was conducted on 28 students and 3 teachers. The effectiveness of the e-module is seen from the increase in critical thinking test score from 57 students. Validity and practicality were analyzed using Aiken's V, while effectiveness was analyzed with N-Gain. The results showed that the developed e-module had a validity value of 0.89 with a valid category; a practicality value of 0.87 by students and 0.97 by teachers with a practical category. The effectiveness results show that the e-module has an effect on students' critical thinking skills, as evidenced by the N-Gain score of the experimental class of 0,7 with a fairly effective category while the N-Gain score of the control class is 0,4 with a less effective category. Thus, the developed e-module is declared valid, practical, and effective.
