Abstract

The important role of Public Relations in a company is to create and maintain a positive image in the eyes of the public. In an effort to build and maintain a positive company image, companies can utilize social media to communicate with the public quickly and effectively, enabling two-way communication between Public Relations and the wider community. Apart from that, social media is also used to evaluate a company's brand image. However, in the context of this research, there are several problems that need to be addressed. One of them is the lack of human resource support in the Public Relations team at Bank Sumatra Selatan Bangka Belitung. Apart from that, the unequal level of education of the community or customers can make it difficult to understand the information conveyed by Public Relations, especially for those who have a lower level of education. This could be the cause of complaints later on. This research aims to analyze the role of Public Relations in improving the company's brand image at Bank Sumatra Selatan Bangka Belitung. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis. The research results show that, overall, Public Relations has played a good role in efforts to improve the company image at Bank Sumatra Selatan Bangka Belitung, although there are still several obstacles, such as a lack of human resource support in the Public Relations team and unequal levels of community/customer education. makes it difficult to understand the information conveyed, which in the end can result in complaints at a later date.

Abstract

Mass media as the main channel of information was responsible for conveying information that became the public reference. Tirto.id, a verified news portal at the Press Council, reported six investigative news stories high lighting the government’s unpreparedness in dealing with the spread of Covid-19. The news between 27 February to 14 March 2020 were the objects of this research. Based on the objects, this research focused on the construction of Tirto.id on the reality of the government’s unpreparedness. This study used a descriptive qualitative method through Robert M. Entman’s framing analysis model. The reports of this study werestructured into: Define Problems, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgments, and Treatment Recommendations. On the aspect of Define Problems, the research showed misinformation and coordination. The aspects of DiagnoseCauses were being ignored because of safe feeling. On the aspect of Make Moral Judgments, it showed criticism of biased policies. Meanwhile, on Treatment Recommendations, the state/government must be able to protect its people. The conclusion obtained showed that Tirto.id saw the government’s unpreparedness as a reflection of the country’s failure to protect its people due to unprofessional actions and biased policies in handling Covid-19.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil Pengamatan dan survei diketahui masih kurangnya pemahaman anggota BPD Desa Tirta Harja Kecamatan Muara Sugihan Kabupaten Banyuasin terhadap peran dan tugasnya dan dalam pengawasan peraturan Desa. Kendala ini menunjukkan pengawasan yang dilakukan BPD terhadap Pemerintah Desa masih sangat lemah.Dari sisi komunikasi , pola komunikasi BPD dalam menerima, menyampaikan dan menyebarkan hasil keputusan aspirasi dan peraturan desa dinilai tidak berjalan lancer. Dari survey juga menunjukan fungsi BPD sebagai leislatif sudah terlaksana namun dalam fungsi BPD sebagai pengayom dan pengawas masih maksimal dalam pelaksanaanya dikarenakan kurangnya pemahaman anggota BPD terhadap tugas dan fungsinya.Untuk itu lewat pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini tim melakukan pendampingan penggunaan teknologi komunikasi untuk mempermudah saluran penyampaian pesan dari masyarakat ke BPD untuk kemudian disampaikan ke pemerintah desa. Pendampingan dilakukan secara bertahap selama tiga bulan lamanya melalui tahapan pengamatan yang terdiri dari pengamatan langsung dan survey. Kemudian dicapai kesimpulan dan pola solusi melalui kegiatan pendampingan digital literasi dan penggunaan teknologi komunikasi terhadap sejumlah anggota BPD. Tahapan terakhir dari pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah evaluasi dari keseluruhan pendampingan untuk mengetahui apakah pendampingan sudah tepat sasaran.

Abstract

Assistance in the marketing strategy of the catfish business to improve the welfare of the community in the Sako Baru sub-distric Sako district Palembang. Community assistance in the marketing strategy of the catfish business is a strategic step in improving the welfare of the community. This research was conducted in Kelurahan Sako Baru. In this study, data collection was carried out by means of observation, documentation and interviews regarding selected informants with the Catfish Business Assistance Program to Improve Community Welfare in Sako Baru sub-district. The results of this study indicate that (1) From the results of observations in the field, the authors conclude that community assistance through a marketing strategy assistance program for catfish business in Sako Baru sub-district, Sako District, Palembang City is quite good. (2) Human resources, in this case the government apparatus of Sako Baru sub-district, have tried hard enough in carrying out their duties in recording and verifying to assist the community or groups of catfish cultivators in Sako Baru sub-district in order to achieve the goals of community empowerment.

Abstract

The importance of public speaking soft skills for village officials and village heads is the basis for the preparation of this Community Partnership Program (PKM). The focus of this service activity is to improve the ability to speak in public (public speaking). The specific purpose of this PKM is to encourage increased mutual cooperation activities among millennials in Senda Mukti Village, Pulau Rimau District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. Some of the methods used in this Community Partnership Program (PKM) are the question and answer method and discussion to identify knowledge and supporting technology. The lecture method is used during the learning process. In this service activity, the applied theory can provide the expected results. This can be seen from the increasing ability of most of the participants. Furthermore, participants are expected to be more confident in showing their public speaking skills to encourage millennials to be involved in community cooperation

Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation training is an effort to facilitate training participants so they can develop independence and fulfill food needs by providing knowledge and skills. The research objectives: 1) identify the ability of the trainees to utilize the results of the training, 2) obtain an overview of the motivation of the training participants in utilizing the results of the oyster mushroom cultivation training, and 3) analyze the driving factors and inhibiting factors encountered in developing an oyster mushroom cultivation business. The driving factor for oyster mushroom cultivation is the availability of natural potential as a material for making planting media, capital, and demand for oyster mushrooms which is never lacking from the market. The inhibiting factors are land, technology, and support from the government.

Abstract

Adaptation and mitigation are one of the efforts that can be carried out by various parties in dealing with climate change, one of which is that the community as the affected population must be actively involved in these efforts. The government has committed to addressing this problem by presenting a climate village program (ProKlim) with the aim of encouraging community participation as a whole in increasing their ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. One of the ProKlim programs to prevent climate change is by utilizing waste from used goods. This activity uses a community-based approach, meaning that it actively involves the community to participate in the activity. The implementation method consists of location surveys, observations, transects (tracing), FGDs, seminars and training. The results of community service activities have a positive impact on the community, because they gain new knowledge and skills regarding the use of used tire waste which can reduce negative impacts on the environment and can be used sustainably by turning the waste into recycled materials such as flower pots. This activity not only reduces environmental pollution but can also help economic circulation and create new business opportunities.

Abstract

Background: According to the 2018 World Giving Index by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), Indonesia ranked first in the world giving index for the first time. However, the emergence of digital alms practices in Indonesia has sparked controversy surrounding their compliance with usury laws, a deeply held belief in Islam. This has created an enigma within the Islamic community, as the Indonesian Ulema Council works to establish legitimacy for these practices. Given the multi-layered nature of these practices in society. Purpose: This paper aims to elucidate how the provider, specifically GoPay in this case, communicates digital alms to the public and how the Islamic community in Indonesia perceives and accepts it as a customary practice. Method: A qualitative research approach was employed for this article, focusing on conducting in-depth interviews and examining future studies and regulations pertaining to digital alms programs. Results: The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of digital alms programs has prompted a shift in the community’s giving habits from traditional direct methods to digital methods. This shift offers convenience to donors, who now have numerous options available to them. However, it is important to note that traditional beliefs surrounding alms emphasize direct interaction between the giver and the receiver, raising concerns about the potential for manipulation of alms before they reach the intended recipients. While this innovation has gained significant traction within the Islamic community, the use of financial technology introduces the possibility of inaccuracies and raises questions about the acceptance of its processes. Therefore, additional coordination and oversight with relevant parties are needed. Conclusion: Introducing digital alms programs has engendered new practices within the community for activities like almsgiving, enabling cashless transactions. However, there are still challenges to address, including ensuring the reliability and integrity of the process. This requires collaboration and supervision among stakeholders. Implications: The introduction of digital alms programs has prompted a transformation in community practices related to almsgiving and similar activities by embracing cashless methods.

Abstract

Berkurangnya lahan terbuka dan tidak lancarnya saluran air mengakibatkan genangan air dan banjir menjadi alasan beberapa ruas jalan dan wilayah di Kota Palembang. Pergerakkan air yang tidak lancar ini mengakibatkan luapan air yang berlebihan. Salah satu bentuk kepedulian dan aksi nyata atas permasalahan lingkungan tersebut, tim pelaksana pengabdian kepada masyarakat menginsiasi pendampingan pembuatan lubang resapan biopori lahan terbuka yang sempit. Salah satu wilayah di perkotaan yang tedampak banjir adalah KelurahanSialang Kecamatan Sako. Dua rukun tetangga yang akan menjadi lokasi kegiatan ini, yaitu RT 01 dan RT 61. Inisiasi pembuatan lubang biopori ini merupakan kesepakatan dengan warga untuk mengurangi genangan atau banjir di pemukiman. Kegiatan pelaksanaan pendampingan dilakukan dengan metode partisipasi antara masyarakat, tim pelaksana dari perguruan tinggi dan pihak kelurahan serta kecamatan. Kegiatan berlangsung melalui lima tahapan aksi, yaitu pra persiapan, persiapan, pelaksanaan serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Sosialisasi juga dilakukan untuk mengenalkan apa yang dimaksud pembuatan biopori, fungsi dan manfaat jangka pendek dan panjang. Untuk membuat lunbang biopori dibutuhkan pipa PVC. Hasil kegiatan ini adanya kerjasama partisipatif dari masyarakat melalui kesadaran dan memahami bahwa pembuatan biopori adalah salah satu cara yang efektif dalam pencegahan banjir. Rekomendasi kagiatan ini adalah pentingnya meningkatkan kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi, masyarakat dan pemerintah daerah untuk mengimplementasikan kebijakan pro perubahan iklim yang dimulai dari lingkungan rumah sendiri.
