Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Talamau has established regulations that prohibit students carry cell phones in school because it would have negatively impacted the learners in the learning process . However , students still carry and use mobile phones in school . This study aimed to describe the function of the manifest and latent functions of the use of mobile phones by students in SMA Negeri 1 Talamau . The author uses the structural functional theory . Robert K. Merton mengemukan manifest functions and latent functions . Manifest function is desired functions , while the latent function is a function that is not desired . This type of research is a qualitative approach using descriptive type . This research sites in SMA Negeri 1 Talamau . This study describes about the situation as it should . Selection of informants using snowball sampling technique . Type of data is the primary data and secondary data were collected through observations , interviews and documentation . Analysis of the data used is interactive model analysis . The results showed the manifest function of the use of mobile phones by students in schools as a means of communication with teachers , family and friends . In addition , learners also use mobile phones as a tool to seek assignments and as a means to relieve the boredom . Meanwhile , the latent function of the use of mobile phones by students in school , as a tool for social networking and open to take pictures.

Abstract

Travel is a traditional Minangkabau society. This is the case with Galogandang community, other than wander into a tradition of economic and environmental conditions as well as the driving force for the community Galogandang to wander. Lifestyle factors livelihood homogeneous and less adequate fulfillment living day to day is 70% Galogandang community in the region. Based on the conclusion that there are three purposes of research problems, namely: the first settler on the role of design in the development Galogandang region, second the impact of travel on the social and economic life of society Galogandang. This study used a qualitative approach with the case study method of data collection techniques informant interviews to the nomads in the scope of the community and the individual. Through the case study method to guide rational choice theory researchers conducted interviews with 24 informants for the purpose of understanding the phenomena - phenomena taken from research subjects, namely the role of migrants to development Nagari. From the results of this study concluded, the first role that immigrants have a large participation in the development of physical Galogandang, both migrated to the impact of socio-economic life of the community Galogandang in terms of physical and non-physical.

Abstract

Education is a factor that has never out of human life in order to improve quality of education teacher is essential that has big responsibility to make up quality of education it self. So, LPTK Teacher Practice Program (PPL) to apply their knowledge since school in university. There are some problems in PPL such as less ready of teacher advisors to guide the students make lesson plan, less ready of teacher advisors to guide the students so that comprehend the material, the students often teach alone without teacher advisors, and less ready of teacher advisor to guide the student control the class the purpose of the research is the description about how the function of the teacher advisor to guide Sociology students in preparation to Theacher Practice Program (PPL), Teacher advisors strategy guide the student in control the class in preparation to tell Teacher Practice Program in all SMA N Dharmasraya.This research use qualitatife research in form of descpritife, location of this research are all SMA N in Dharmasraya. They are SMA N 1 Koto Baru, SMA N 2 Koto Baru, and SMA N 1 Koto Salak. informer this research where headmaster, teacher advisor and students teacher. Practice technique of data collection where used observation, interview and documentation of study.Result of this research show that there is a ready of teacher advisor before tell his job that appropriate guide the Sosiology students in PPL. As conclusion, some of school still there is teacher advisor that had not full function in advice or guide Sosiology’s students in Teacher Practice Program (PPL)

Abstract

 Main problem which is researched in this research is to explain teacher’s ability forward sociology material understanding in adjustment with learning method. In addition the purpose of this research is to know teacher’s ability toward sociology material understanding in adjustment with learning method.Research method that is used in this research is qualitative method especially case study type. Research informant was sociology teacher, headmaster, students of ten, elevent, and twelve class. Technigue of data collection is done by three ways, there are : observation, interview and documentation study. Technigue of data analysis has several ways below: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion with drawal.Based on the result of the research, it could be concluded that sociology teacher’sability in implementing learning process in SMAN 1 Pasaman, Pasaman Barat regency, involve:Teacher’s ability in sociology material understanding was still not good because the teacher who teach lesson was not teacher who had background sociology discipline. So, the teacher did not understand the material, and teacher’s knowledge about sociology subject was still limited.Teacher’s ability adjusted lesson plan with lesson implementation was not optimal because the teacher did not understand in implementing lesson method, so the method lesson was not effective and variation did run well. It caused the student felt bored in learning proces. And finally students interest to follow sociology lesson was reduced.Teacher’s ability interaction and communication with students in learning proces still had obstacle because the teacher could not create comfortable learning atmosphere which can make students feel interest. So, the efort to create and keep students to think critical and sensitive social tendency around was often pasted.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the involvement of women in the public sector that has limited resources and access. The effect is the options of range effort that was involved in a one commodity selling fruits. Problems that are often encountered women fruit sellers, among others, there are some pieces that are crop season pales in season then an increase in their economies. Another obstacle perishable fruit consequently is lowered the price of fruit. These conditions force and require women to have a variety of strategies to maintain viability to meet the needs of the family. While the purpose of the study to describe factors that encourage women to choose of selling  their fruits and describe survival strategies of women fruit sellers to overcome the problem of incoming to meet family needs. The theory that is used is the structural functional by Talcot Parson, it is known as carabao AGIL scheme. This research is qualitative descriptive study to develop the type of problem being investigated. Techniques of collecting data are through observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the results it can be concluded: 1. Factors of women choose to sell fruits are, a). economic factors that women choose to sell fruit because no large capital needs. In addition, the  needs of families that encourage women to choose this business. b). social factors and cultural heritage, are the efforts of parents and their relation with fruit growers c). seasonal factors, d). educational factors, it is  caused women fruiterer average low education. 2. A strategies that women employ fruiterer to survive in a family which are a). implementing a dual income b). reducing of spending in household in c). doing bussines with growers of fruit or fruit agent d). arisan e) changing the type of fruit depanding on the season periods fruits f). changing the type of the things that solid.

Abstract

This research beginning from several problems. That the writer observed at MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang namely the headmaster that has given lack motivation toward his students. The teacher who taught sociology was taught by other teacher that was not his major. The time schedule for sociology was vary limited, only two hours in a week, one class meeting is only thirty minutes this research meant to analize study motivation of students in learning sociology. For the ten the class at MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang.The kinds of this research was inclusive as descriptive research. The population and sampel in this research was for all srudents class in MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang that was listed in academic year 2013/2014 that was aprrotimately us students. The instrument that was used in this research was angket motivation.The results of this research indicated that the student motivation as MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang to study sociology was enough evaluated. This can be viewed from percentage results positive angket MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang of student motivation was 60 % and the results of negative angket of student motivation was 62,9 %.  The teacher motivation at MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang in implementing this sociology activities was inclusive strong. This can be viewed from the results of positive angket of the headmaster study activities motivation was 69,4 %. The motivation of headmaster policy at MAS.TI Batang Kabung Padang in managing his school was enough evaluated in managing madrasah. This can be viewed from the results of percentage positive angket on the headmaster policy motivation was 58,5 % and the results of 65,4%.

Abstract

AbstractThis research examines the effort of poverty alleviation in Solok. Solok isthe third highest poverty rate of 12 districts in West Sumatra (West Sumatra BPS2008). However, in the period 2008-2010 Solok successfully developed a varietyof efforts to improve welfare and increase their local revenue. Poverty is a socialproblem that is ingrained in Indonesia. Alleviate poverty is not just a matter forcentral government but also local governments and with the regional autonomy.This research to describe the efforts taken by the government Solok inovercoming poverty in the region. The methods uses qualitative, with the type ofdescriptive research that led to the situation that occurs through the dataobtained. This research includes the study of economic sociology and sociology ofdevelopment.The results showed that there were some efforts made by the governmentin addressing poverty Solok namely 1) local economic development by providingtraining and skills to the poor. 2) empowerment of micro, small and mediumenterprises in the form of rural development programs of economic institutions orvillages, by providing capital assistance in the form of money to poor people whohave good business in agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, trade andindustry. 3) Community development focused on the fulfillment of basic rights tohealth care for the poor because it will affect the health of someoneearning. Health program is using the funds the district budget. Budgeted funds arefrom the health centers to hospitals. Community can perform basic medicaltreatment for free. Government programs to alleviate poverti Solok is alsosupported by a free ID card program.

Abstract

The main problem of this study was Is it effective to teach Passive Voice by using semantic map to the eleventh grade students of state Senior High School 9 Palembang. The method of this study was preexperimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data were collected through two kinds of test, pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using the matched t-test. Based on the result of the data analysis, the students average score in the pre-test was 51,63, and the average score in the post-test was 63,68. The t-table of 5 % significance level was 1.684. It could be concluded the value of tobtained (7,21) was higher than the value of t-table (1.684). It means that Ho was rejected, and consequently Ha was accepted.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to find out whether or not there were any significant different scores obtained by the students who were taught through concept-oriented reading instruction (CORI) method and those who were not. A quasi-experimental design, specifically nonequivalent control group design was applied in this study. The result of the study showed that the students’ scores in paired sample t-test of experimental group higher than control group (-11.83 > -12.64), while in independent sample t-test, the critical value 0.05 significance level with df 35 (36-1) was 1.697 and t-obtained 1.992. It means that tobtained was higher than t-table as critical value (1.992 > 1.697). Consequently, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It could be concluded that, teaching reading comprehension of procedure text through Concept-Oriented Reading Instruction (CORI) method to the tenth grade students of state senior high school 13 Palembang was effective
